SS Awakening: My Monster Merging System!

Chapter 270: Thirty Day Trial, the Inheritance Seed [2]

Boom!

When Zich opened his eyes again, five powerful auras had already locked onto him from different directions.

An Iceback Giant Rhinoceros covered in thick ice armor stood directly ahead. A Windcleaver Demon Eagle circled overhead. A Burrowing Frost Python lurked beneath the ice, while two nearly identical Shadow Panthers stood on either side.

Identical dark red patterns coiled around all five monsters.

They had not been temporarily gathered together. They were a complete hunting team that shared its perception.

Zich attempted to issue an order through the summoning contract. However, to his dismay, there was no response.

The next moment, the Iceback Giant Rhinoceros lowered its head and charged toward them. The Windcleaver Demon Eagle spread its wings at the same time, sending dozens of wind blades raining down from the sky, while the two Shadow Panthers vanished from where they stood.

Without saying a word, Zich merely tapped twice on the bone armor covering Iron’s back before taking one step to the left.

The four skeleton soldiers immediately scattered.

Iron rushed toward the Iceback Giant Rhinoceros, but just before they collided, it suddenly stepped sideways and smashed its bone sword against the rhinoceros’s horn.

Slimy’s Silk Barrier unfolded at an angle at the same moment.

Boom!

The Iceback Giant Rhinoceros’s enormous body crashed into the barrier and was forcibly redirected, causing one of its feet to smash through the nearby ice.

The Burrowing Frost Python lurking below had only just emerged when the rhinoceros’s front hoof crushed its head.

The two Shadow Panthers appeared behind Zich.

He did not turn around. Two skeleton soldiers standing in the distance raised their bone blades simultaneously.

Zich instantly exchanged positions with one of the skeleton soldiers. The claws of both Shadow Panthers struck empty air, while the Silverback Ape Grunt, which had already been waiting nearby, grabbed one of the Shadow Panthers by the tail and smashed it violently into the ground.

Bang!

Zich raised his right hand, and a blood colored arc accurately struck the other Shadow Panther’s front leg. Only then did the second wave of wind blades released by the Windcleaver Demon Eagle descend from the sky.

Slimy opened its barrier on its own.

The wind blades changed direction along the surface of the barrier and shot toward the struggling Burrowing Frost Python. The four skeleton soldiers quickly rushed forward, using their bodies and bone blades to restrict its movements.

Not a single command had been given. But every summon knew exactly what it needed to do.

Zich continuously moved within the formation. Sometimes, he served as bait to attract attacks. At other times, he personally blocked attacks that were about to strike the skeleton soldiers. Occasionally, he used Spirit Exchange to suddenly appear beside an enemy’s weakest point.

He was no longer the only brain in the entire team.

All his summons had come together to form a complete battle consciousness, while he served as the most important connection between them.

At the forty third minute, Iron’s bone sword severed the Iceback Giant Rhinoceros’s neck.

At the fifty first minute, the Silverback Ape Grunt forcibly dragged the Windcleaver Demon Eagle out of the sky.

At the fifty seventh minute, the final Shadow Panther collapsed at Zich’s feet.

All five leader class monsters were dead, and not a single summon had been destroyed.

The entire world was once again covered in silver white light.

When Zich returned to the ice field, the final leaf on the silver ancient tree had completely disappeared.

The entire ancient tree began to shrink visibly before his very eyes.

Its trunk transformed into silver light, while its branches intertwined. Finally, it condensed into a silver seed covered in ancient patterns within Razeil’s palm.

"These thirty battlefields were all created from battles I once experienced," Razeil said. "The only difference is that yours were controlled."

Zich: "..."

Upon hearing this, a shocked look appeared on Zich’s face.

"So everything I just experienced was merely part of your memories?!"

"Memories that were suppressed and modified."

"I thought I was already close to catching up with you."

"You may still be several hundred years away from that day."

Several hundred years?? How old was this woman exactly? Could she be like one of those experts who looked 20 even if they were several hundred years old?

While Zich was seemingly lost in thought, Razeil held the silver seed out before him.

"This is an Inheritance Seed. It contains the knowledge, combat experience, and understanding of power that I accumulated throughout my life."

The instant Zich touched the seed, a system notification appeared.

[You have completed the inheritance prerequisite trial.]

[Acquired: Razeil’s Inheritance Seed.]

[Current Status: Bound.]

[Deeper Inheritance: Sealed.]

The silver seed merged into the space between his brows.

The instant the silver seed entered the space between his brows, the casual expression on Zich’s face abruptly froze.

The moment his consciousness touched the outermost layer of silver light, countless images that did not belong to him flooded violently into his mind.

Collapsing continents, skies stained red with blood, terrifying monsters stretching thousands of meters, and existences whose mere auras were enough to make his current self instinctively feel suffocated.

Amid those images were Razeil’s countless battles, injuries, breakthroughs, and even her understanding of power, all imprinted within the seed in a form almost indistinguishable from memories.

Zich’s breathing momentarily stopped.

This was no ordinary skill inheritance!

If everything contained within truly represented the experience Razeil had accumulated over hundreds of years, then from now on, whether he was fighting, training, or encountering powers he had never seen before, he might be able to find something within the Inheritance Seed that he could learn from.

Experience that others might need decades, or even their lives, to obtain was now available to him. He could move forward while standing upon the path once walked by a Level 200 powerhouse!

More importantly, there was no path within the inheritance forcing him to follow in Razeil’s footsteps.

It was more like an unimaginably vast treasury.

Razeil had simply placed the key in his hands.

As for how much he could ultimately take from it, and how far he could climb using what it contained, that would still depend entirely on him.

As this realization struck him, the shock in Zich’s eyes gradually transformed into burning excitement.
