SSS Awakening: I am the First Legendary Mage
Chapter 136: The Perfect CombinationThe first was Fire Bullet and Mana Sense. A fusion between the two might create a spell that, after landing near a target, generated some kind of echo that allowed him to sense the surrounding area, and while the idea seemed useful, the compatibility did not appear to be particularly high.
The second combination was Mana Bullet and Mana Sense. This should produce something similar to the first option, although Alex was not certain whether the resulting spell would be better or worse, so he would have to see what the system allowed him to create.
The third combination was Fire Bullet and Mana Bullet.
Alex stared at those two spells for a moment. This combination seemed to have the highest compatibility, and he was almost certain that the two spells could be fused because he had already combined his knowledge of Mana Bullet with Fire Bullet to create harder shells for his attacks.
The two spells already had a connection.
Alex no longer planned to evolve Fire Bullet individually. His Talent had already shown that stronger results could be achieved by fusing compatible spells, so it made more sense to combine Fire Bullet with Mana Bullet instead of evolving Fire Bullet on its own.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he thought about it.
He was glad that he had waited instead of immediately evolving Fire Bullet when it reached Level 10. Now, he had a much better option in front of him, and if the fusion worked, he could both free up a spell slot and gain a stronger spell at the same time.
Of course, if the fused evolution options turned out to be bad, or not as good as he hoped, he could still evolve Fire Bullet individually, but he was leaning more toward fusion because it would free a spell slot while potentially giving him a stronger evolution.
In the end, he needed to get more spells to Level 10 and see what kind of evolution options they would provide. Once he had more information, he would be able to make better decisions instead of trying to predict everything beforehand.
Alex was excited.
The upgrade to his Talent had opened up so many possibilities that the more he thought about it, the more options he could see. Every spell he possessed could potentially interact with another spell in a completely different way, and he had only started exploring what was possible.
What if he combined Advanced Body Reinforcement with Lightning Reflex Spell? The result could make him terrifyingly fast, and speed was extremely valuable in a fight, especially when his body was strong enough to handle the increased movement. Speed also meant force, and force meant destruction.
Then there was Advanced Battle Instinct and Lightning Reflex Spell.
If Alex could somehow use lightning-element mana to enhance the neurons in his brain, his spell-casting speed could increase tremendously. Faster thinking and faster spell casting would be extremely useful, especially since his fighting style relied heavily on controlling multiple spells and reacting quickly.
There was just one problem.
Alex currently could not use lightning-element mana inside his brain because it already contained a large amount of compressed non-elemental mana. Two different types of mana could not be fused together, so only one type could be used inside his brain at a time.
If he stopped using Advanced Battle Instinct, the lightning-element rune on his heart would disappear, and he would lose his ability to use lightning-element mana in the first place. Even if there was some way to get around that problem, Alex had no intention of experimenting with lightning mana directly inside his brain because the risk was far too high.
Alex did not mind taking risks when there was at least a small chance of success. However, he was certain that deliberately experimenting with lightning-element mana inside his brain would kill him, so there was no reason to try something that dangerous.
That was why the fusion option seemed perfect.
If he could combine Advanced Battle Instinct with Lightning Reflex Spell, he might gain a lightning-element spell capable of making his brain work faster. He would not need to directly experiment with lightning mana inside his brain because the evolved spell would hopefully teach him a safe method process directly.
Alex stopped his train of thought and reconsidered something.
Previously, his Talent had given him evolution options based on what he had done with his spells and how he had used them. Would the same thing happen with fused evolution options? If so, did that mean he would need to actually experiment with lightning-element mana in his brain to make the exact evolution he wanted appear?
Or would using normal mana to strengthen his brain be enough?
There were too many things to consider, but instead of feeling troubled by the uncertainty, Alex only became more excited. He felt like a child who had suddenly received too many toys as a gift and could not decide which one he wanted to play with first.
After thinking about it for a while, Alex took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. He had plenty of time to experiment with his spells, and there was no need to rush into something dangerous just because he had discovered more possibilities.
Once he had settled down, Alex took the Energy Bar from his inventory and took a bite. A faint warmth spread through his body as the energy restored some of his depleted stamina, making him feel considerably better.
Alex finished the bar before looking toward the rooftop entrance. He then raised his voice and called out, "Sophia, come here."
A moment later, the rooftop door opened and Sophia entered. Her eyes immediately widened when she saw Alex, and her expression changed when she noticed that his shirt was covered in blood and that blood was still flowing from his nose and mouth.
"Alex!" she called out.
