The second spell he removed was Fire Volley Spell, and the reason was almost the same reason he liked it. The spell would probably teach him an efficient method of creating and controlling multiple Fire Element projectiles, which could eventually improve his ability to control several spells at once.

However, understanding how to create more Fire Bullets was not the same as being able to use them effectively. Alex still needed a high level of mana control and, more importantly, enough mental focus to control everything simultaneously, and he was already struggling with the number of spells he used during battle.

Alex accepted that Fire Volley Spell was undeniably powerful, and the knowledge it provided could eventually become extremely valuable. The problem was that he was already using too many abilities at once, so even if the spell taught him a better method of controlling several projectiles, he would not necessarily be able to take advantage of that knowledge right now.

During every serious battle, Alex was already using Advanced Battle Instinct, Advanced Body Reinforcement, Mana Bullet, Mana Blade, Fire Bullet, Lightning Reflex, Soul Reinforcement, Mana Cable, Mana Sense, and Elastic Mana Thread. With so many spells active at the same time, adding several more projectiles would split his attention too much, even if his mana control was good enough to handle them.

The problem was not simply a lack of Mana control. It was mental focus, and there was only so much information Alex could process simultaneously before his control began to suffer. Until his mind became stronger, there was little point in choosing a spell that would encourage him to control even more things at once.

After considering the choices again, Alex finally made his decision. He chose Fire-Mana Weaving Spell.

Alex smiled faintly as he read the screens. This was not only his first C Rank spell, but it also confirmed what he had predicted earlier. Fire-Mana Weaving truly allowed him to fuse Fire Element Mana and normal mana together.

’Solid fire.’

Alex could not help but feel a strange sense of joy when he read those words. This joy came from his SSS Rank Origin Spell Physique. Flames could not normally be solid, and that was a basic concept everyone understood, but mana did not have to follow the same rules as ordinary matter.

This was an important piece of knowledge for creating stronger spells, and his Origin Physique seemed genuinely pleased that he had finally understood it, much like when he had learned about the existence of Will.

Alex closed his eyes and focused on the knowledge entering his mind. The information was not overwhelming, but there was enough of it that he needed time to organize it before trying anything. After roughly two minutes, he opened his eyes and raised one hand.

He held his Fire Wand in the other hand. Alex created a single thread of Fire Element Mana, then created two threads of normal Mana from his free hand and adjusted the thickness of all three threads.

Unlike when he created Mana Cables, he did not put a large amount of Mana into the threads. Instead, he made them as thin as possible, which was relatively easy because he was not trying to force a large amount of Mana into a small space.

The difficult part came next. Alex needed to move the mana inside each thread according to specific patterns, and those geometric patterns were strange enough to remind him of runes. It once again proved to him that runes were special, and he had made a good choice by choosing Runesmith Class.

Moving mana inside an already compressed mana thread should have been extremely difficult, but Alex had gained some experience with a similar process through Mana Blade. When he used Mana Blade, he could move mana along the edge of the blade in specific patterns to increase its sharpness, so the basic principle was not completely unfamiliar to him.

It was still difficult, but it was no longer something Alex could not understand. He focused on the three threads and slowly moved the Mana inside them according to the patterns he had learned, carefully maintaining the structure without allowing the threads to collapse.

Alex poured more mana into his brain to increase his focus. His attention narrowed until the surroundings almost disappeared from his awareness, leaving only the three mana threads in his hands and the flow of mana moving through them.

As he continued, Alex finally saw the change he had been waiting for. The white normal mana threads and the orange Fire Element Mana thread began mixing together, and soon the three separate threads looked like they had become a single structure that resembled a Mana Cable.

The entire cable had taken on an orange color, although it was not as bright as ordinary flames. Alex carefully sensed its structure and found that it was not as solid as magma, but it was definitely far more stable and physical than normal Fire Element Mana.

Alex picked up a tiny piece of rubble from the ground and flicked it toward the thread. The small stone struck the orange cable, producing a faint burning sound before bouncing away.

Alex picked up the stone and examined it carefully. There was a clear scorch mark on its surface, and he was satisfied with the result because he had deliberately avoided putting too much Fire Element Mana into the threads. If he had used more, the stone would probably have melted, which would’ve made this small experiment unable to serve as a useful test.

Previously, whenever Alex created Fire Element Mana Threads, a stone thrown through it would simply pass through while being burned or melted.

This time, however, there had been physical feedback when the stone struck the thread, and it had been thrown back instead of passing through. The flame thread was actually solid.
