His attention shifted to Berserk Mage next. Based on everything he knew from games and novels, Berserkers usually sacrificed something in exchange for tremendous strength.

The Class might increase his damage depending on how injured he became, or perhaps exchange sanity for overwhelming offensive power.

Alex liked the idea of dealing more damage, but losing his sanity was a big no for him. For a Mage, reduced sanity meant slower spellcasting, and slower spellcasting meant death.

Even if the Class rewarded him for fighting while injured instead, it still didn’t fit the way he wanted to become stronger.

He had already spent enough time exchanging injuries with monsters just to survive. That wasn’t the path he wanted to continue walking forever.

His goal was to become strong enough to eliminate his enemies before they seriously wounded him.

His eyes moved to Spellsword next. The name immediately caught his attention because it seemed to combine magic with swordsmanship instead of forcing him to specialize in only one fighting style.

If the Class granted sword-related Spells, it would greatly improve his ability to handle enemies that closed the distance.

At the moment, his biggest weakness was obvious. Fire Bullet was devastating at range, but it wasn’t ideal against a fast opponent standing only a few meters away.

A Class that allowed him to seamlessly switch between melee and ranged combat would make him far more versatile.

The fourth option was Fire Mage. Alex couldn’t deny how tempting it was after witnessing the destructive power of Fire Bullet despite it being only a D Rank Spell.

If the Class granted stronger fire-related Spells, his offensive power would increase dramatically.

There was another reason Fire Mage interested him. He still remembered watching the Mid Rank crab launch water bullets and razor-sharp water needles without relying on explosions.

Water couldn’t explode like fire, yet the attacks were incredibly fast, which meant there had to be another method of launching elemental projectiles.

Alex had already asked Joseph about it. Unfortunately, Joseph’s Mana Bullets relied entirely on Kinetic Mana for propulsion, so he didn’t know how elemental attacks could be launched any other way.

If Fire Mage Class taught that technique, it would solve one of the biggest weaknesses of Alex’s current Spell, and teach him a new method of combat.

Finally, his attention settled on Runesmith. Compared to the other four Classes, it didn’t sound combat-oriented at all, yet it interested him the most.

The more he thought about it, the greater its potential seemed to become.

He knew from the information on Dwitter that the runes were the magical structures embedded inside wands.

Joseph’s wand contained a Kinetic Element Rune, while his own wand contained a Fire Element Rune.

Those runes transformed ordinary mana into elemental mana. If Runesmith allowed him to create similar runes himself, the possibilities were almost endless.

A Kinetic Rune alone could let him launch projectiles without relying on explosive force. It might also allow him to absorb impacts, move faster, or strengthen his attacks.

Then there were other possible elements such as Ice, Wind, Light, and perhaps even Space.

Compared to the straightforward combat Classes, Runesmith offered the highest long-term potential by far.

After weighing every option, Alex did what he always did whenever he faced an important decision. He started eliminating choices one by one instead of trying to pick a winner immediately.

That method usually made difficult decisions much simpler.

Berserk Mage was the first to be removed from the list because it simply didn’t suit his fighting style. Any Class that risked his sanity or encouraged reckless combat was unacceptable.

Monk Mage followed soon afterward. Healing was valuable, but there was no guarantee it would actually grant healing Spells instead of fist-type spells, and he could always rely on Priests for now or search for a healing wand later.

He paused briefly as another thought crossed his mind.

’Would that even be called a Healing Element Wand, or would it be a Life Element Wand?’ he wondered before shaking his head. It wasn’t an important question right now.

That left three choices. Fire Mage possessed incredible offensive power, but the more Alex considered it, the less appealing it became. The Class was heavily focused on a single element, forcing him to invest most of his growth into fire while overlooking countless other possibilities.

If a Class could improve his innate talent in its related field, then choosing such a narrow path this early didn’t seem like the smartest decision.

More importantly, Alex didn’t want to commit himself to a single element before he understood how elements affected future development of a Mage.

There was still too much he didn’t know about the System, and Spells, and making an irreversible choice based on incomplete information felt reckless. That was enough to push Fire Mage out of consideration.

This left him with two options: Spellsword and Runesmith. Both had obvious advantages, but they offered very different paths forward.

Alex silently compared them while reviewing everything he had learned so far.

Spellsword was undoubtedly a strong Class, but there was one problem. He could probably obtain similar abilities through his evolving Spells without ever choosing the Class itself.

His Talent had already shown that it rewarded the way he used his spells rather than evolving them randomly. Class Evolutions were the same. The Classes he got as his options was how he fought.

Mana Thread was already close to evolution, and he had spent most of his recent battles combining it with his sword.

If his theory was correct, then its next evolution would likely offer something like Mana Sword or another Spell suited for melee combat.

Even if it evolved into something else, Alex was confident he would eventually learn to create a mana blade on his own.

Runesmith was completely different.

He had no idea how to create runes, nor did he even know where to begin learning. Unlike sword techniques, he lacked any foundation that could help him imitate or develop rune-related abilities by himself.

If he passed on this opportunity, there was no guarantee his Talent would ever provide him with something similar.
