Aldric and the girls conversed a little, mostly talking about suppressing Leon’s ability as much as possible.
After that was done, Aldric asked about Nyxia’s family.
One couldn’t imagine Aldric’s shock when he saw Leon’s second wife being the woman that her ex-husband caught. However, he quickly suppressed it as he didn’t want to understand what exactly occurred in that case.
"Brother Aldric, my family’s situation is unknown. After my marriage, I rarely contacted them, and they too didn’t see me many times. I checked our original house to invite them, but it was empty. They most likely left." Nyxia shook her head in dismay.
Her family might not have treated her properly; however, she couldn’t spare herself being left out from her bloodline.
"Oh. Then you can give me some of the information about your family members. I will try my best to find them." Aldric offered help, as Nyxia was essentially his sister now, and he couldn’t bear to see his sister be hopeless.
At that moment, Leon and Pooland arrived, having finished cleaning the dishes.
A smile appeared on Leon’s face, hearing that. ’It feels good to have a family member in high ranks.’
"Thank you, brother Aldric." Nyxia bowed, expressing her heartfelt gratitude. She knew how hard it would be to find her family in such a huge capital; she couldn’t do it on her own.
"It’s okay. We are a family after all." Aldric laughed.
Poland silently wiped away his tears, watching the scene unfold before him. ’What a beautiful bond! If only my own brother were like this. Oh how unfortunate...’
Nyxia then suddenly asked. "Brother Aldric, what about your family? I asked Elara, but she won’t speak about it."
Leon’s ears also sprang up as he too was curious. He had asked Elara about it, just like Nyxia, and was denied every time.
Aldric took in the trio’s facial expression and understood his sister was once again hiding the matter. Shaking his head, he uttered. "Elara, it’s okay. You should try to speak about this matter more. It isn’t like you would be killed."
Elara had her head down, not wanting to elaborate.
A helpless smile appeared on Aldric’s face before speaking about this matter. "We did have a family. A father and a mother taking care of their son and daughter. A unique existence in this world to speak of. Maybe because it was too different, it didn’t last long. During the last war of the Sundering Act, both of our parents died in the war, and it was against the Orcs."
Aldric looked at Elara and said. "My silly little sister just wants to have revenge against the orcs who killed our parents. The reason she was hiding it is because she fears you guys will want to take part in her revenge and harm yourself."
"Hmmm..." Leon rubbed his chin, pondering to himself. He understood what was going through Elara’s head and commended her spirit to avenge her parents. But he couldn’t understand she would be doing it as the system revealed useful information after she became his wife.
Over the age of 36 years and yet at the apprentice rank, her talent was developed further, except for being used for making clothes.
He had to ask her if she had secretly trained herself.
But that wouldn’t matter, as the system boost she would be receiving will help her enact her revenge with ease. He didn’t have to assist in any kind of help.
Well, of course, except for in the bed.
Aldric saw everyone’s faces become gloomy except for Leon. Unlike others, he was looking at Elara in a helpful manner, sometimes nodding his head in satisfaction as if he could foresee the killing spree his wife would go on in the future.
Aldric became extremely confused by this. ’What is wrong with this guy? Is he hiding something? Is my sister hiding something too? Or is he just delusional? The Orcs might be overall weaker than us, but in the grand scheme of things, damaging them would come at a cost. No, I have to explain this brother-in-law of mine about the races and the politics carefully or he might put my sister in danger.’
"Hmm!?" Suddenly, the sound of an explosion was heard in the sky.
Everyone turned their heads toward the window and saw a fight had broken down in the sky. One was using fire, wearing a long sleeping robe, and the other had a short knife, wearing a dark cloak.
"YOU BASTARD! HOW DARE YOU LAY HANDS ON MY CHILDREN!" The man, who was using fire, screamed out loud, awakening the entire Asterhold district.
The man in a dark cloak showed a trace of panic. In a split second, he made the decision to run.
The man wearing a sleeping robe’s eyes widened in anger as he quickly gave chase.
Their clamor woke up this busy district before it could close its eyes.
"They were flying! Brother Aldric, what rank are these two?" Nyxia’s eyes sparkled watching the spectacle. She had an innate adventurous heart, making her curious about the wider world. Unfortunately, she couldn’t achieve that dream, resulting in her scope of knowledge being narrow.
Others were curious too. They understood at a certain rank, you could achieve flight, but they were not strong enough to discern their true strengths yet.
"They were both at master rank. The stage where you can start flying." Aldric answered with a grave tone. His mind was currently thinking of the reason for this absurd clash.
One has to understand this was the capital, the heart of humanity. To dare to fight meant something unnerving has occurred.
"You two. Protect your family. This situation is out of your ability." Aldric flew out of the window while leaving behind these words.
Leon nodded his head. He was still a nobody; it was better for the experts to handle this matter.
He glanced at Pooland, who was also eyeing him. He nodded his head, understanding his concern for his wives and parents.
"Leon, we will meet tomorrow, and thanks for the meal, sister-in-law. "Expressing his gratitude, Pooland left quickly.
