Chapter 86: Evolution Paths (2)[ Material Detected. ]
[ Multiple Soul Evolution Paths Available. ]
[ Please select One Evolution Path. ]
"What? Multiple paths?" Malrik stared at the new notifications hovering in front of him for the first time, his mind still struggling to catch up with what they meant.
He couldn’t land on a clear explanation before more windows appeared, cutting his thoughts short.

[ PATH III — Starfall Warbeast ]
Race: A rare warbeast born from the convergence of overwhelming physical power and an innate affinity for gravity. Its massive body is built for brutal close-range combat, while its gravitational nature allows it to manipulate the space around itself without sacrificing its immense strength.
Its massive frame is not merely built for strength. Every part of its body is adapted for high-speed movement, sudden changes in direction, and violent close-range engagements across large battlefields.
Unlike ordinary giant races, it does not become less effective as the battlefield grows larger. The greater the space available to it, the more freely it can exploit its exceptional physical capabilities.
[ SPECIAL TRAITS ]
• Very High Speed Growth
• Exceptional Physical Constitution
• High Affinity for Gravity-Related Abilities
• Exceptional Mobility for Its Size
• Can Maintain Combat Efficiency While Moving at Extreme Speeds
• Extremely High Stamina Consumption
Its unusual body requires tremendous energy to maintain its enhanced physical performance. Prolonged battles can rapidly exhaust its reserves if it cannot maintain its momentum.
[ FUTURE EVOLUTION CHOICES: EXTREMELY HIGH ]
▸ Resulting Law: [ Law of Momentum ]
▸ Law Rank: [ High ]
▸ Potential: [ Rare ★★★★★ ]
▸ Evolution Points Required: [ 1000 EP ]
Malrik read through all of it, and he still hadn’t fully processed the sheer number of windows in front of him.
This was the first time he’d ever seen anything like this.
Was my understanding of my own Talent really this shallow?
Up until now, he’d believed Infinite Evolution simply meant pushing something tied to his soul into a higher stage, or unlocking a stronger bloodline it could never have reached under normal circumstances.
But these windows weren’t just offering a race upgrade. They were offering entirely different paths.
Maybe I’ve been underestimating an SSS-Rank Talent this whole time.
If it could produce such different results from the same starting point...Can it actually create something completely new?
The thought surfaced in his mind, but he didn’t rush to accept it.
Maybe the Talent was simply pushing whatever he evolved toward the closest possible form that already existed somewhere in this world. That would still make sense.
But after seeing these paths appear, he wasn’t sure of anything anymore. So he started reading through each one carefully.
To Malrik, the first path, Titanhide Warbull, felt like the most natural choice. A race built almost entirely around physical strength.
The path leaned heavily toward close combat, while giving Biggie little affinity for long-range abilities. It made sense. Even before his death, Biggie had always been a melee fighter who relied on raw physical force.
Malrik’s eyes moved down to the section labeled [ Future Evolution Choices: High ], and he couldn’t help wondering what it meant.
Future evolution choices...?
Did this mean the race had greater potential for future evolution than a normal race?
He wasn’t certain yet, so he set that section aside, planning to study it more carefully in the future.
Then his eyes moved to the Law section, and the result surprised him.
[ Resulting Law: Tempering ]
[ Law Rank: High ]
Biggie’s original Law, Steel, had only ever been Medium-rank. Even the Law of Weight he’d swallowed from Gravios hadn’t gone past Medium either. And yet, somehow, the evolution had merged the two and produced an entirely new High-rank Law.
"Hmm... not bad at all."
Better than he’d expected, actually. But when his eyes dropped to the Evolution Points required, his stomach sank.
[ Evolution Points Required: 400 EP ]
"...What? Are you kidding me?"
"What is this, daylight robbery?"
Malrik stared at the system screen, silently cursing the sudden jump in points required, since Biggie had only needed 300 to go from Rare ★★★ to Rare ★★★★★ the first time around.
Does this have something to do with the Laws merging?
He had no proof, but it was the most logical possibility. Evolution wasn’t just raising Biggie’s rank anymore. It had upgraded his race’s entire potential, merged two different Laws together, and produced a brand new Law at a higher rank out of it. Not just the usual bump in potential.
But before he could dig deeper into that thought, his eyes moved to the second path.
[ PATH II — Gravitybound Behemoth ]
Malrik raised an eyebrow at the unexpected race name. "Gravity?"
He started reading the description, and the further he went, the more confused he became. This race was heavily tied to gravity, which was strange, considering Biggie’s original race had been focused entirely on raw physical strength.
All he’d done was have him swallow the Law Seed of Weight, and that wasn’t directly related to gravity itself.
Malrik frowned, then glanced at Biggie, who was standing there silently with the most innocent look imaginable, as if he had absolutely no idea why Malrik was staring at him.
Malrik stared at him for a few seconds.
Why do I suddenly feel like punching that face?
Then he noticed Gravios’s corpse lying near where Biggie stood, and his eyes widened at the sudden realization.
"...Wait. Did it factor in Gravios’s corpse as part of the evolution materials?"
He’d already given Biggie the Law Seed of Weight, so the connection to gravity itself wasn’t completely impossible. But a Law Seed should only give him the foundation to comprehend that Law. It shouldn’t suddenly alter his entire racial path.
Yet this evolution wasn’t simply granting Biggie an affinity for gravity. The entire race had been reshaped around it.
Malrik’s gaze slowly returned to Gravios’s corpse "Then..."
If the Law Seed alone wasn’t enough to explain it, there was only one other thing that had changed.
Gravios’s corpse.
It contained far more than a Law. His body itself carried the traits of a race built around gravity, along with the physical characteristics that came with it.
Malrik’s expression gradually changed as the pieces fell into place.
So the system really did count the corpse as part of the evolution materials...
The realization was almost absurd.
Biggie’s original race had been built entirely around physical strength, yet one of its available evolutionary paths had now developed an innate affinity for gravity.
Not because Biggie had suddenly changed his own nature. But because something else had been added to the evolotion process.
If that’s true... then external materials can influence what the result becomes.
That meant the right material could potentially push a race in a direction it could never have reached on its own and that was far more significant than he had initially thought.
He also noticed the system had produced yet another Law compatible with this new race, and it was also High-rank.
But he frowned when his eyes landed on the Evolution Points required, which had somehow climbed even higher this time.
[ Evolution Points Required: 550 EP ]
Damn it, why does it keep going up?
He looked back at the path’s description, then at the Law it would grant. There’d been a full reshaping of Biggie’s race, a significant shift in its traits, and gravity had been woven into its very nature.
Was that the reason?
But Malrik didn’t want to jump to a hasty conclusion.
Does the evolution cost rise the more the race actually changes?
It was a logical idea.
But it was still nothing more than a guess for now. He didn’t have enough evidence to confirm it, so he filed the thought away and moved on to reading the rest of the path.
