“Only in fights like those do I think that I am still a martial master and a wandering hero. That is when I feel that the martial world still exists!” The young man stepped forward and looked at Reincarnation.

The door of life and death manifested before the man. “So you agree to my challenge?”

“Not yet,” Li Hao responded softly. “Although you’re an enemy, I trust you, just barely. We can engage in a duel to the death. But... I don’t trust those that are with you!”

“What will it take for you to trust them?” laughed Reincarnation.

“How would I ever?” Li Hao murmured before his laughter rang in everyone’s ear. “I’ll trust them when one more dies!”

The others jerked in shock!

Reincarnation didn’t react except for a slight widening of his eyes. He stood stock still in the void.

A sword rushed in the western direction, headed straight for Peng Cheng! Color drained from the chaos beast’s face and he immediately fled through the void in his primary body.

Reincarnation did not stop the attack!

Earth Spirit gasped and didn’t know if he should intervene, run, or something else entirely...

“I cannot withstand the anger of a ninth rank,” Li Hao’s laughter rang out as Earth Spirit grappled with what to do. “Fellow Daoist Peng Cheng is overly worried! Not to mention, all of you are under Senior Chaos Sky’s banner. How would I dare kill you?”

His longsword hovered in the void, brimming with the power of the five elements. The spirit of the five auras seemed to hover out of the weapon.

The domain of the five elements swelled to encompass the vicinity. It sped for Earth Spirit.

“How dare Five Elements of the north participate in this battle?” Li Hao said ominously. “The exalted emperors of Five Elements are strong together, but are they as strong apart?”

The sword was the spirit!

Five elements materialized. There was an ape, tiger, and a ferocious bird...

The tiger was let loose from its cage!

There was no return for the sword. The domain of the five elements broke as soon as it struck. Yuan Shuo coughed up blood within the river and fell out of a world. He gaped at Li Hao while still vomiting blood.

What was that little crazy up to now?

Bam!

The five elements exploded as Li Hao broke through Earth Spirit’s defenses with one sword stroke. Earth attribute cultivators were most adept at defense, but his fell in the blink of an eye!

The sword of emptiness descended, which prompted Void to fall out of his world as well.

Li Hao had forced two seventh ranks out of their posts due to emptying their worlds of energy. His sword descended!

Crunch!

A dao domain shattered and a mountain peak toppled. The ferocious tiger howled as the sword returned to Li Hao’s grasp and the chaos trembled!

A bloody mark traveled down Earth Spirit’s forehead as he looked dumbly at Li Hao. His dao strength rapidly streamed out of him.

In the northern region, figures manifested in the gloom and the power of fire, metal, wood, and water shook the void. Li Hao’s dao strength stretched to it in response and his sword intent soared through the worlds.

“I will kill whoever seeks to kill me!” His dao ripples reverberated in all directions. “Five Elements, I will pay you a visit sooner or later if you don’t come to me! I will kill you all and seize your strength for my teacher! The five elements of the chaos will be led by the Five Styles!”

He was cocky, arrogant, and overweening!

Li Hao sneered and turned a haughty look at the heavens. He was wholly unafraid of the Five Elements. Did they dare come? Since they didn’t, why stick their noses in the east?

The great dao emanated through a shuddering void as the disturbance went on for a while. In the distance, an exalted emperor suddenly appeared with an aloof expression. He demonstrated a presence that was at odds with his strength.

“Then I wait for you!” he bit off. “Li Hao of Silver Moon, I am Metal Spirit! If you do not die today, you do not survive through your own merits...”

“How am I to verify my dao as a ninth rank if I do not have the heart equaling one?” Li Hao scoffed. “Being afraid to take action due to fear of Skyward and the master of the tribulations... you’re a waste of an eighth rank! I’ll make my way over to you sooner or later, just hang on!”

The peculiar presence from the eighth rank in the distance faded away and he returned to his senses. Ashen-faced, he immediately ran off.

That had been the overlord of the north taking over one of his cultivators. He hadn’t come with too much battle strength, just raging wrath and a few tough lines.

“The strongest is Chaos Sky, then Spring Autumn, then Long Zhan...” Li Hao shook his head. “The Five Elements are five people, after all. Even Metal Spirit doesn’t amount to much. He is less than you or Long Zhan. I can only say that they were lucky to be born as brothers and favored by the heavens that way...”

“Luck is also part of one’s strength!” Reincarnation chuckled after seeing the young man kill Earth Spirit with one move. “When it comes to luck, both you and I have fared well in this department. Who hasn’t enjoyed good fortune if they’ve made it to our heights?

“But you’re right. Five Elements does not measure up to Long Zhan. In a fight between the four regions, the north will fall and it will be the first to fall...”

He ignored Earth Spirit’s death and refocused on the young man. “No wonder you’re so strong. You were able to spontaneously increase your strength like that. But it seems like you’ve just expelled two seventh ranks and emptied out two major worlds. Did you do so because... you think you stand a high chance of beating me?”

“No!” Li Hao grinned. “A spar between martial masters must be fair! I used the strength of two seventh rank worlds to kill Earth Spirit and eliminate unfairness. This is justice served to both you and me!”

He was weaker than before as he’d depleted his teacher and Void’s strength. Losing two major worlds at once meant that he’d decreased from almost six thousand daos prior to more than five thousand daos now.

That put him on a similar footing with Reincarnation and was the fairness that Li Hao spoke of.

The young man smiled at Peng Cheng, who was still running in the distance. “Fellow Daoist Peng Cheng, what are you flying so fast for? I already said that Senior Chaos Sky is a ninth rank overlord. How would I dare easily kill one of his?

“I am unafraid of Five Elements, but not of Chaos Sky! Come back and stay. Fellow Daoist Reincarnation and I will go for a few rounds. If he dies, you can collect his corpse for him. Leave Reincarnation major world behind. You won’t be getting away while hauling that around!”

Peng Cheng’s face flickered rapidly through multiple expressions. He looked back at Reincarnation, not sure of what to think.

The human hadn’t stopped Li Hao from killing Earth Spirit. Clearly, the two had come to some sort of agreement in that moment. You can kill Earth Spirit to maintain the balance, and you’ll also decrease your battle strength by rendering two major worlds null and void.

That was a balance in their eyes. The life of an eighth rank was... nothing at all.

“Fellow Daoist Peng Cheng,” said Reincarnation. “If I die, leave the world behind and take my people to Chaos Sky major world. I still have many seventh ranks, after all. They’ll be of some use!

“And if I win...” the man laughed. “Don’t self detonate, Li Hao. Why not leave behind some dao marks for me to study?”

“Dao marks?”

“That’s right!”

“Good idea, fellow daoist. You have some ambition, don’t you? It looks like you want to peer into the secrets of time...”

“Who among the chaos doesn’t wish to understand more about time?” Reincarnation nodded. The two chatted like they were good friends. Meanwhile, battle raged in the distance!

The Human King was a very straightforward individual. He leapt straight into motion when he wanted to kill someone. He wouldn’t spend time talking to them. Fang Ping would grace them with a few insults if he felt like it, or stay silent if he was preoccupied with killing people.

Li Hao was much more cultured, but just as many people died on his side. For the moment, his battle with Reincarnation was one of words.
