Started with a 10,000x Multiplier in a Game World
Chapter 222: Rigged from the StartThe heavy iron door melted into glowing, molten slag under the intense heat of Dante’s [Meteor Stride].
He stood in the hallway beyond, the air rushing into the new room with a loud, aggressive hiss.
The remaining seven members of his squad, Lila, Mei, Casanova, Sera, Nyx, Aria, and Garrick hurriedly stepped through the molten gap, sticking tightly together to remain inside Lila’s gravity neutralization and Aria’s massive healing aura.
"We lost the recruits," Sera reported grimly, constantly checking her datapad. "They wiped in the first three seconds. We are running a twelve-man endgame progression raid with exactly eight people. And the system is actively trying to murder us."
Dante didn’t turn around. He was focused on the hallway ahead.
The corridor wasn’t filled with standard trash mobs. The walls were lined with massive, buzzsaws swinging erratically from the ceiling.
Deep pits of bubbling, superheated acid spanned the entire width of the floor, forcing players to navigate incredibly narrow, perfectly smooth stone beams.
[Zone Alert: The Gauntlet]
[Hazard Detected: Extreme Environmental Lethality.]
"This is insane," Casanova whimpered, staring at the swinging blades. "This isn’t a dungeon; it’s an execution chamber. Silas is probably walking down an empty hallway covered in red carpets right now!"
"He is," Nyx confirmed, adjusting her dark glasses. She had tapped into the localized leaderboard API.
"Vanguard’s Legacy just cleared Floor 5. We are still on Floor 1. Silas is using his Enforcer privileges to completely bypass the encounter triggers. He isn’t fighting bosses; he’s just walking through walls and flagging the rooms as ’Cleared’."
"He’s cheating," Mei scowled, hoisting her massive frying pan onto her shoulder. "We can’t beat a guy who just tells the game he won."
Dante crossed his arms, his dark purple armor gleaming in the dim light of the acid pits.
Silas was using developer tools to speedrun the dungeon. He was artificially manipulating his instance to guarantee victory, leaving Dante’s squad trapped in an overloaded, mathematically impossible meat grinder.
The Arch-Administrator wanted to secure Dante’s permanent 20-level penalty, effectively crippling Aegis Vanguard and removing the anomaly from the geopolitical board.
"We don’t need to play by the rules," Dante stated flatly.
He looked at the hallway.
"Mei, Garrick," Dante ordered. "You two are the battering rams. I don’t want you blocking attacks. I want you breaking the environment. If a wall is in the way, smash it. If a door is locked, tear it down."
"I can do that," Mei grinned fiercely.
"My spite knows no architectural bounds!" Garrick cheered, raising his rusty shield.
"Lila, keep the gravity localized around the squad," Dante continued. "Aria, do not stop playing the healing song. Aura, you sit on Aria’s head and keep her mana topped off."
The tiny Grade 8 Mystic Sovereign chimed obediently, floating down to rest directly on top of the Level 15 Soul Weaver’s head like a glowing silver hat, instantly pulsing her [Ultimate Guardian Halo] to provide massive damage reduction and infinite mana sustain.
Dante turned his attention back to the hallway.
He didn’t activate [Asura’s Descent]. He didn’t want to drop his defense to zero in a room filled with erratic environmental hazards.
He didn’t need raw attack power right now. He needed speed.
Dante raised his left hand.
[Skill Executed: Cyclone of Ruin]
Because of his [Chrono-Shift] talent, the Zenith-tier wind skill triggered instantly, completely bypassing the mana cost.
He didn’t aim the skill at a group of monsters. He aimed it directly down the center of the trap-filled hallway.
The localized F5 hurricane exploded into existence. The massive, dark purple vortex expanded violently, filling the entire corridor from wall to wall.
The sheer, overwhelming rotational force of the Zenith-tier wind didn’t just push air. It actively tore into the environmental hazards.
The heavy, swinging iron buzzsaws were violently ripped from their ceiling mounts, sucked into the hurricane, and shredded into metal confetti. The pools of bubbling acid were violently scooped up by the vacuum, swirling harmlessly inside the tornado.
The path was completely clear.
"Move!" Dante ordered.
The squad sprinted down the hallway, running right behind the advancing hurricane. They didn’t have to dodge blades or balance on narrow beams. The Zenith-tier wind simply deleted the obstacles in front of them.
They reached the end of the corridor in seconds.
The heavy iron door leading to Floor 2 was completely sealed.
"Batter up!" Mei yelled.
She didn’t hesitate. She activated [Colossal Manifestation]. The massive [God-Slaying Skillet] violently expanded, turning into a thirty-foot-wide monolith of indestructible black iron.
Mei didn’t swing it. She just charged forward, holding the colossal pan like a battering ram, and slammed directly into the heavy iron door.
The sheer kinetic mass of the Universal Anomaly completely bypassed the door’s durability stats. The iron hinges shrieked and snapped. The massive doors were violently blown off their frame, crashing heavily into the room beyond.
The squad poured into Floor 2.
It was a massive, circular arena filled with towering, heavily armored stone golems.
[Floor Boss Spawn: Granite Sentinels]
[Tier: Gold]
[Level: 50]
[HP: 85,000 / 85,000]
There were fifty of them. The Arch-Administrator had drastically increased the mob density, hoping to bog Dante down in a grueling, hour-long melee engagement.
Dante didn’t stop running.
He drew the [Dawn-Breaker Blade] with his right hand, and the black brand on his wrist flared violently, summoning [Voidsever] into his left.
He dual-wielded the Gold-tier broadsword and the primordial greatsword.
"Don’t stop!" Dante roared, activating [Asura’s Heart].
His attack speed and movement speed doubled. The [Predator’s Eye] passive locked his critical hit chance at 100%.
He triggered [Phantom Dash], materializing directly in the center of the massive golem formation. The sonic boom stunned dozens of them instantly.
He became a localized blur of gold armor and black smoke. He didn’t use flashy, targeted skills. He just swung both swords in a continuous, relentless, 360-degree whirlwind of absolute destruction.
[Voidsever] ignored 100% of their massive physical armor, executing golems in single strikes. The [Dawn-Breaker Blade] carved through the staggered survivors.
The massive stone bosses didn’t even have time to swing their massive fists. Dante chewed through the fifty-man formation in less than ten seconds, leaving nothing but a massive cloud of blue pixels and pulverized rock.
[Target Eliminated: Granite Sentinel x50]
[Floor 2 Cleared.]
"Floor 3 is a maze!" Nyx shouted from the back, checking her datapad. "The system generates random walls to confuse pathing!"
Dante dismissed his swords. "We aren’t doing the maze."
He looked at Garrick. "Break the walls."
They sprinted into Floor 3. It was a massive, sprawling labyrinth of incredibly thick, enchanted crystal walls.
Garrick didn’t navigate the maze. The middle-aged man lowered his head, raised his glowing red [Spiteful Bulwark], and sprinted in a perfectly straight line.
The red dome of pure emotional frustration slammed into the enchanted crystal walls. The sheer, unmitigated kinetic force of the spite shield, fueled by a messy divorce and terrible customer service, completely shattered the environmental barriers.
Garrick literally ran through the walls, carving a perfectly straight, destructive path through the entire maze. The rest of the squad casually jogged behind him, completely ignoring the intended mechanics.
[Floor 3 Cleared.]
"Silas just hit Floor 25," Nyx reported, her voice tight. "He’s skipping entire tiers. He’s going to finish the fifty floors in less than ten minutes."
"He’s fast," Dante acknowledged, his breath coming slightly quicker. The physical exertion of chaining Zenith-tier skills and raw melee combat was significant, despite his infinite stamina.
"But he’s limited by the system’s processing speed. He still has to manually trigger the ’Clear’ command for every room. We just have to maintain our momentum."
They blasted through Floor 4, Dante using [Starfall] to instantly glass a massive, open-air arena filled with thousands of low-level corrupted beasts.
The sheer volume of the meteors completely vaporized the horde in a single cast, saving them precious minutes of clearing trash mobs.
They reached the heavy stone doors of Floor 5.
Dante didn’t order Mei to smash it down. The doors were already open.
The squad stepped through the archway, completely expecting another massive, overwhelmingly unfair horde of heavily buffed monsters or a ridiculous environmental trap.
The room was completely empty.
It was a perfectly square, unadorned white marble chamber. There were no magma pits, no buzzsaws, and no towering stone golems.
"It’s quiet," Lila noted nervously, her grip tightening on her staff. "Too quiet."
"Nyx, what does the API say?" Dante asked, stepping cautiously into the center of the room.
Nyx pushed her dark glasses up, her fingers flying across her datapad. She frowned, tapping the screen aggressively.
"The data is blocked," Nyx reported, her voice laced with genuine concern. "The system is actively hiding the spawn parameters for this room. It’s a localized blind spot."
Dante didn’t like blind spots.
His Intuition stat, which had been relatively quiet through the straightforward slaughter of the previous floors, suddenly spiked. It wasn’t the heavy, aggressive thrum of a massive boss. It felt sharp, precise, and incredibly familiar.
The air in the center of the white marble room suddenly distorted.
A localized spatial rift tore open. It didn’t glow with dark purple void energy or bright blue transit magic. It was a pure, sterile, glaring white light.
A figure stepped out of the rift.
It wasn’t a towering demon or a heavily armored knight.
It was a player.
The figure was exactly six feet tall. He wore incredibly recognizable, gleaming gold armor with deep purple gauntlets. A heavy, tattered crimson cape hung from his shoulders, and his eyes burned with a solid, piercing red light.
He held a massive, jagged black greatsword in his right hand.
The squad completely froze.
Casanova took a terrified step backward, pointing a trembling finger at the figure.
"Boss," Casanova whispered in absolute horror. "He looks exactly like you."
Dante stared at the figure.
It wasn’t an illusion. It was a perfect, flawless, one-to-one digital copy of his own avatar.
[Floor Boss Spawn: The Zenith Reflection]
[Tier: System Anomaly]
[Level: 81]
[HP: 25,500 / 25,500]
The Arch-Administrator hadn’t spawned a massive monster. The system had copied Dante’s data, duplicated his raw stats, and spawned an exact replica of the [Asura Vanguard] to fight him.
"Well," Dante murmured, slowly drawing the [Dawn-Breaker Blade]. "This is going to be incredibly annoying."
