Started with a 10,000x Multiplier in a Game World
Chapter 223: The Mimicry FloorThe white marble room was completely silent.
Dante stared at the exact replica of himself standing thirty feet away.
The clone wore the same [Sun-Forged Cuirass], the same dark purple [Void-Devourer Gauntlets], and the same tattered crimson cape.
Its eyes burned with the same intense red light of the [Asura Vanguard] class.
And it was holding a perfect replica of [Voidsever].
[Floor Boss Spawn: The Zenith Reflection]
[Tier: System Anomaly]
[Level: 81]
[HP: 25,500 / 25,500]
"Dante," Sera whispered and stared at her datapad in absolute horror.
"The system did not just copy your appearance. It copied your entire stat block. It has your health pool, your defense, your attack power... it even has your [Predator’s Eye] 100% critical hit chance."
"It is a mirror match," Nyx agreed and adjusted her dark glasses nervously.
"The Arch-Administrator knows we can steamroll generic bosses, so it generated the only entity on the server capable of mathematically challenging you."
The clone didn’t hesitate. The highly advanced aggressive AI governing the replica immediately initiated combat.
[Skill Executed: Phantom Dash]
The clone vanished in a flash of light.
"Scatter!" Dante roared.
The squad broke formation instantly and dived away from the center of the room.
BOOM.
The localized sonic boom of the materialization of the clone detonated exactly where Dante had been standing.
The clone reappeared and swung its replica of Voidsever in a brutal horizontal arc.
Dante had already triggered [Blink Step]. He teleported fifteen feet backward to dodge the initial strike.
But the clone wasn’t targeting Dante.
The system AI recognized the tactical threat of the support squad.
The clone immediately pivoted, abandoned Dante, and triggered [Meteor Stride].
It vanished again and left a trail of superheated plasma that cut straight across the white marble floor.
It materialized directly in front of Casanova and Garrick.
"Uh oh," Casanova squeaked.
The clone didn’t use a massive Zenith-tier AoE skill. It didn’t need to.
It possessed the absurd base attack power and guaranteed critical hits of Dante.
It gripped the black greatsword with both hands and swung a rapid devastating vertical chop.
"I am the wall!" Garrick yelled. He desperately raised his rusty kite shield and triggered [Spiteful Bulwark].
The dark red dome of emotional frustration erupted and blocked the strike.
CLANG!
The impact was catastrophic.
Garrick had easily tanked the combined firepower of three thousand players and a massive ballista trap.
But he had never taken a direct unmitigated hit from a Level 81 anomaly wielding a weapon that ignored 100% of physical armor.
The red dome violently buckled and spider-webbed with deep cracks.
Garrick groaned loudly and dropped to one knee as the sheer kinetic force bled through his invulnerability.
The clone didn’t stop.
It raised the sword for a second strike fully intending to shatter the tank and execute the bard hiding behind him.
"Mei! Get them out of there!" Dante commanded and triggered his own [Meteor Stride].
Mei didn’t try to block the clone.
She grabbed Casanova by the collar of his silk shirt. She grabbed the back of the breastplate of Garrick.
She literally dragged both men backward across the polished floor and pulled them out of the strike zone.
Dante materialized directly between his squad and the clone.
He didn’t draw Voidsever. He didn’t want a battle of mutually assured armor-piercing destruction. He drew the Gold-tier [Dawn-Breaker Blade].
The clone swung its black greatsword. Dante raised his gold blade.
[Skill Executed: Aegis Deflection]
The golden hexagonal shield flared.
CLANG!
Dante executed a perfect parry.
The concussive shockwave blew the dust off the marble floor. The 500% reflection damage slammed back into the clone.
[-45,000!]
The clone staggered backward, and its health bar dropped into the red.
But because it possessed an exact copy of the loadout of Dante, the [Source of Recovery] passive on its starry cloak immediately triggered.
It halved the incoming damage and instantly healed 50% of the lost health.
[Clone HP: 14,250 / 25,500]
The clone recovered instantly.
It triggered [Phantom Waltz] and became a purple untargetable blur to deliver five rapid teleporting strikes.
Dante matched it perfectly. He triggered his own [Phantom Waltz].
The two golden-armored anomalies vanished simultaneously.
The white marble room echoed with a rapid deafening staccato of colliding kinetic force.
Crack. Crack. Crack. Crack. Crack.
Sparks showered the room as the two players teleported around the arena.
Their strikes constantly intercepted each other in mid-air.
Because they were both untargetable during the animation, neither one took damage.
They materialized on opposite sides of the room perfectly balanced.
"Dante," Sera called out, her voice tense. "The clone is regenerating. Its cloak passive is active."
"I know," Dante said and watched the clone.
"We need to burst it down," Lila yelled and raised her Dark Demon staff. "I will pin it with a gravity well, and Mei can smash it!"
"No!" Dante ordered sharply. "Do not attack the clone. Everyone, stand down. Drop your weapons."
The squad stared at him in absolute confusion.
"Boss, it is going to kill us," Casanova pointed out nervously.
"It is a mirror match," Dante explained calmly and kept his eyes locked on the clone.
"The system copied my stats, my gear, and my skill loadout."
"If you try to fight it, it will just use [Asura’s Descent] to drop its defense, trigger [Blood Sacrifice] for a 900% attack boost, and instantly wipe you all with a single [Cyclone of Ruin]."
Dante slowly stepped forward and moved away from his squad. He drew the aggro of the clone entirely onto himself.
"The Arch-Administrator thinks it created a perfect copy," Dante said softly. "But the system is fundamentally flawed. It only copies what it can read from the server logs."
The clone raised its replica of Voidsever and dropped into the exact localized asymmetrical combat stance Dante favored. The stance of the First Cycle Sword-Saint.
"It does not have my hidden passives," Dante realized.
The clone charged.
Dante didn’t trigger a massive attack. He didn’t use [Aegis Deflection].
He simply waited for the clone to close the gap.
The replica swung the massive black greatsword in a brutal horizontal arc aiming for the neck of Dante.
Dante activated his newest pet ability.
"Erebus," Dante whispered.
He didn’t summon the little girl physically. He accessed the lore-breaking blood pact he had forged with the Half-Soul Celestial in the Necropolis.
[Skill Activated: Death’s Duel]
The system interface didn’t just glitch. It completely broke.
The white marble room, the squad, and the glowing ceiling vanished instantly. They were overwritten by an absolute pitch-black localized void.
A massive impenetrable dome of dark energy slammed down and completely isolated Dante and the clone in a private inescapable arena.
The clone froze, and its combat AI struggled to process the sudden environmental shift.
The systemic replica didn’t possess the code for Erebus. It couldn’t comprehend the localized domain expansion.
[Effect 1: User burns 50% of Maximum HP.]
[Effect 2: Grants a flat 100% damage boost.]
[Effect 3: Every successful strike lands a 1% chance to inflict True Death (Instant Kill), regardless of the HP or immunities of the target.]
The health bar of Dante instantly halved and dropped to 12,750 HP.
But his attack power spiked, and the 1% instant-death mechanic engaged.
Dante possessed 100 points in his hidden Luck stat, a stat the system couldn’t properly duplicate for a mindless NPC replica. The cosmic dice were entirely in his favor.
The clone recovered its logic parameters and charged again while swinging the black sword.
Dante didn’t try to trade blows. He didn’t want to get hit by a weapon that ignored 100% of his armor.
He needed to disarm the clone.
He opened his inventory and equipped a basic incredibly low-tier skillbook he had picked up in the beginner forest.
[Item Appraised: Skillbook - Disarm]
[Tier: Novice]
[Description: A precise strike aimed at the wrist of the target. Has a 5% chance to force the target to drop their equipped weapon. Cooldown: 20 seconds.]
He absorbed the book instantly.
[Skill Executed: Disarm.]
The anomaly triggered.
[Talent Activated: 10,000x Multiplier.]
[Registering 10,000 flawless executions.]
The combat enlightenment wasn’t about raw power or localized spatial magic.
It was the absolute fundamental mastery of anatomical weak points and kinetic leverage.
Dante learned how to strike the wrist of a target with the exact frequency required to completely sever the digital connection between the avatar and its equipped asset.
[Disarm has reached Adept tier.]
[Disarm has reached Master tier.]
[Disarm has reached Grandmaster tier.]
[Disarm has reached Zenith tier.]
[Skill Evolution Triggered.]
[Disarm has evolved into: Soul-Sever.]
The system interface flashed a stark aggressive white.
[Soul-Sever (Zenith)]
[Description: The ultimate expression of targeted disengagement. The user strikes the primary limb of the target. Inflicts a guaranteed un-resistible ’Disarm’ effect. The equipped weapon of the target is forcefully unequipped and locked in their inventory for 60 seconds. Cooldown: None (Chrono-Shift Active).]
Dante didn’t smile. He triggered [Blink Step].
He teleported directly inside the guard of the clone and completely bypassed the massive swinging arc of the black sword of the replica.
He swung the [Dawn-Breaker Blade] in a tight incredibly precise upward strike to aim directly for the right wrist of the clone.
[Skill Executed: Soul-Sever]
The gold blade connected with the dark purple gauntlet.
There was no massive damage number. There was no explosion of light.
A sharp digital error sound echoed in the black dome.
The massive jagged replica of Voidsever violently shattered into gray static and was instantly deleted from the grip of the clone.
The weapon was forcibly unequipped and locked away by the Zenith-tier skill.
The clone stumbled forward with its primary offensive threat completely neutralized. It was now just a heavily armored NPC with no weapon.
Dante didn’t hesitate. He had the clone trapped in [Death’s Duel], and his target was completely disarmed.
He gripped the [Dawn-Breaker Blade] with both hands and unleashed a relentless rapid-fire flurry of basic strikes.
He didn’t use high-tier skills. He just swung the sword as fast as his [Asura Vanguard] stats allowed. He needed to trigger the 1% instant-death chance.
Clang. Clang. Clang.
The gold blade battered against the identical armor of the clone.
The clone tried to back away to try to trigger a defensive skill.
But Dante stayed perfectly locked onto its position and chained [Blink Step] to maintain point-blank range.
Strike seven. Strike eight. Strike nine.
The system rapidly rolled the cosmic dice.
[Instant Death Check: Failed.]
[Instant Death Check: Failed.]
The health bar of the clone was dropping steadily.
But the [Source of Recovery] passive was fighting back and healed the damage almost as fast as Dante could inflict it.
Dante swung a tenth time.
[Instant Death Check: SUCCESS.]
The system interface violently hitched. The black dome didn’t shatter. It pulsed with absolute final authority.
The gold sword of Dante connected with the chest of the clone.
There was no massive critical hit number.
A single clean perfectly formatted line of bright red text appeared above the head of the clone.
[-TRUE DEATH!]
The Level 81 System Anomaly froze completely. The glowing red light in its eyes vanished.
The exact replica of the avatar of Dante didn’t explode into blue polygons or drop a massive pile of loot.
It simply turned entirely gray and dissolved into fine digitized dust that drifted silently to the floor of the arena.
[Target Eliminated: The Zenith Reflection (Level 81 Anomaly)]
[Duel Concluded. Winner: Dan.]
The black dome violently shattered and dissolved into harmless smoke.
Dante was standing back in the pristine white marble room.
The rest of his squad was standing exactly where he had left them and stared at him in absolute awe.
He slowly lowered his sword.
"The system can copy my stats," Dante said quietly and looked down at the pile of gray dust. "But it cannot copy my pets. And it cannot copy my multiplier."
He sheathed the [Dawn-Breaker Blade].
"Nyx," Dante ordered and turned to the analyst. "Status report."
Nyx adjusted her dark glasses and furiously checked her datapad.
"Silas just cleared Floor 40," Nyx reported, her voice incredibly tight.
"He is literally walking through walls. He has ten floors left before he finishes the Crucible. We are on Floor 5. Dante, we are going to lose the race."
Dante looked at the heavy iron door leading to Floor 6.
He had ten floors to clear before Silas reached the end.
"We are not going to lose," Dante promised. "We just need to break the clock."
