Started with a 10,000x Multiplier in a Game World
Chapter 227: The Real World Repercussions, An Enforcer BrokenThe massive green eye of the Arch-Administrator vanished from the sky above the Crucible, leaving Dante and his squad alone in the shattered final chamber.
Dante dismissed [Voidsever] back into the brand on his wrist. He didn’t celebrate. The realization that he possessed the actual ’Anti-Virus’ for the Zenith Protocol fundamentally shifted the entire nature of the game. He wasn’t just surviving the cycle anymore; he was actively capable of curing it.
"We need to go," Dante ordered quietly, looking at his squad. "Grab the loot and let’s port out. I want to be back in the Emporium before the system decides to try another deletion."

Thousands of miles away, in a completely separate, heavily modified instance of the Crucible.
Silas stood frozen by the shock of the announcement.
He had lost. Again. And this time, he had lost while holding the developer keys.
"I demand a recount!" Silas roared at the empty air, glaring up at the ceiling of the instance. "System! He bypassed the clock! Delete his clear!"
The system didn’t respond with a helpful chat prompt.
The ambient light in Silas’s instance violently flickered and died.
The air didn’t just grow cold; it became incredibly, suffocatingly heavy. The glowing green static that usually hummed pleasantly in Silas’s eyes, the visual marker of his Enforcer status suddenly flared with aggressive hostility.
A figure stepped out of the shadows.
It was Elara.
His chief strategic advisor wasn’t wearing her crisp gray pantsuit. She was wearing the sleek, dark, unreflective combat suit of an Arch-Administrator proxy.
The featureless black glass of her face reflected Silas’s terrified, sweating avatar.
"You were granted absolute authority," Elara stated. Her voice was cold, mechanical, and dripping with profound disappointment.
"You were provided with the systemic tools required to isolate and eliminate the anomaly. You were explicitly instructed to secure the Crucible milestone."
"He froze time!" Silas shrieked, backing away from her. "I couldn’t beat a time stop! It’s a glitch!"
"The anomaly utilized an SSS-grade talent interaction that you failed to account for," Elara corrected him smoothly. "Your failure is not a glitch. It is a fundamental lack of tactical competence."
Elara slowly raised her hand.
"The Harvest cannot afford incompetent Enforcers," the proxy declared.
"Wait!" Silas pleaded, dropping to his knees, his pristine white armor clanking against the floor. "Give me another chance! I can find him! I know where his guildhall is!"
"Your contract is void," Elara said.
She didn’t cast a spell. She simply snapped her fingers.
Inside the Zenith Protocol, Silas’s avatar didn’t explode into pixels. He didn’t suffer a True Death execution. He simply vanished, completely disconnected from the server in a single frame.

Back in the real world, inside the heavily fortified boardroom of OmniCorp Tower, the consequences of the voided contract were absolute and immediate.
Silas was physically locked inside his high-end VR capsule.
He didn’t wake up screaming. He didn’t tear the neural cables from his neck.
The dark green crystal that the proxy had forcibly fused into his spinal column violently activated. It didn’t grant him power in the real world. It triggered a localized, catastrophic neurological override.
The pain wasn’t simulated. It was raw, unmitigated, physical agony that tore through his nervous system like liquid fire.
Silas seized violently inside the padded capsule. His eyes rolled back in his head, his jaw locking tight as the incredibly advanced hardware pumped a massive surge of pure electrical current directly into his brain stem.
The punishment lasted for exactly thirty seconds.
When the electrical surge finally stopped, Silas lay completely still.
He wasn’t dead. His chest rose and fell with slow, shallow breaths. The life-support monitors on the side of the capsule beeped with a steady, rhythmic rhythm.
But he wasn’t awake.
The Arch-Administrator’s proxy had brutally, efficiently terminated his conscious connection to the world. Silas was trapped in a permanent, comatose state, his brain essentially held hostage by the fused crystal.
He was no longer a Guild Master. He was no longer a corporate heir. He was just a biological battery, his remaining life force slowly being drained to feed the system’s massive, insatiable engine.
Vanguard’s Legacy had officially lost its leader.

While Silas was being systematically dismantled in the real world, Sera was aggressively conquering the digital economy of Overture.
The anomaly squad had returned safely to the private courtyard of the Astral Emporium.
Sera didn’t waste time celebrating the Crucible victory. The sheer, unimaginable wealth the system had deposited into the guild treasury as a reward for the first-place finish was astronomical.
Sera sat behind her massive mahogany desk, her fingers flying across the holographic keyboard, managing dozens of localized transactions simultaneously.
"We did it," Sera announced, leaning back in her chair and letting out a long, exhausted sigh of absolute relief.
Lila, Mei, and Casanova were lounging on the velvet sofas in the VIP suite, enjoying a massive spread of high-tier digital food. Dante was standing by the window, quietly watching the bustling streets of Aethelgardia below.
"Did what?" Casanova mumbled through a mouthful of roasted boar.
"I bought the competition," Sera smirked, her professional, ruthless business persona shining brightly.
She tapped her datapad, projecting a massive financial spreadsheet into the center of the room.
"With the raw gold we won from the Crucible, combined with the profits from our auction, the Astral Emporium possesses more liquid capital than the rest of the server combined," Sera explained rapidly. "I didn’t just hoard it. I aggressively bought out every single major competing auction house and mercantile guild in the Capital. We don’t just have a shop anymore. We own the entire centralized trade network."
"A monopoly," Nyx nodded approvingly, adjusting her dark glasses.
"Exactly," Sera said. She looked directly at Dante. "My family’s quota was thirty billion credits.
With the real estate we just secured and the absolute control over high-tier asset distribution, our corporate valuation just crossed one hundred billion."
Lila gasped, dropping her fork. "One hundred billion?! Sera, that’s..."
"It’s freedom," Sera finished softly, a genuine, warm smile breaking her stoic expression. "The board of directors formally recognized the valuation five minutes ago. The marriage ultimatum is permanently, legally voided. I am no longer tied to Silas’s conglomerate, and my studio is entirely independent."
"Congratulations," Dante said sincerely, turning away from the window. He knew exactly how much that meant to her. He had systematically dismantled an entire guild structure to ensure she got that win.
"I owe you my life, Dante," Sera said, bowing her head slightly.
"You owe me a discount on repair kits," Dante corrected smoothly.
Before the squad could properly celebrate Sera’s massive real-world victory, Dante’s private interface pinged.
It was the highly encrypted, magical distress signal he had received right after exiting the Crucible. The message from the Blade-Saint.
[Incoming Transmission: The Blade-Saint]
[Message: Champion. The pact is invoked. The descendants of the Vanguard are under siege. The Beast-Emperor marches. We require immediate extraction.]
Dante pulled the [Key to the Continents] out of his void ring.
The small, intricately carved crystal key pulsed with a shifting, multi-colored light. It was the administrative tool required to forcefully unlock the inter-continental transit gates.
"Sera, the business celebration is going to have to wait," Dante announced, walking toward the center of the VIP suite. "We have a massive problem."
He projected the distress signal onto the holographic display for the squad to see.
"The Blade-Saint?" Lila asked, reading the text. "The NPC who gave you the class scroll? Why is he asking for help now? I thought he was stuck in Outpost 404."
"He is," Dante said. "But his descendants aren’t. They live on the Beast-Kin continent."
"The Beast-Kin continent is locked," Nyx pointed out immediately, her analytical mind catching the discrepancy. "The system isn’t supposed to open the inter-continental transit gates until the second year of the cycle. Nobody can travel there."
Dante held up the crystal key.
"We can," Dante corrected her. "The Crucible reward granted us localized administrative access to the gates."
Dante looked at the squad.
"The system is terrified of us," Dante explained grimly. "The Arch-Administrator tried to delete me and failed.
Now, it’s actively trying to stall our progression by triggering massive, server-wide events early. It’s forcing the Beast-Emperor to march on the Blade-Saint’s descendants because it knows I made a promise to protect them. It wants to bait me into a war on a different continent to keep me away from the Capital."
"So it’s a trap," Mei concluded, casually bouncing her massive frying pan on her shoulder.
"It’s a massive, localized trap," Dante agreed. "The Beast-Kin continent is filled with hyper-aggressive, incredibly high-level flora and fauna. And if the Emperor is marching, we are looking at an army that makes Silas’s vanguard look like a joke."
"So we don’t go," Casanova suggested hopefully, edging toward the door. "We stay here in the indestructible building and count our billions."
"I made a promise to a Guardian," Dante stated, his voice completely flat, leaving zero room for argument. "I don’t break contracts."
He turned to Sera. "You and Nyx stay here. Manage the new auction houses. Consolidate the guild’s wealth. If Vanguard’s Legacy tries to restructure under new leadership, crush them financially."
"Understood," Sera nodded briskly.
Dante looked at Lila, Mei, and Casanova.
"You three are with me," Dante ordered. "We’re going to open the gate."
He didn’t wait for them to pack. He turned and marched out of the VIP suite, heading straight for the central transit hub of Aethelgardia.
It was time to see exactly how hostile the rest of the world really was.
