City A-5th Zone
Evening,
Jeremy Night left the hospital with his parents. They returned to their home an hour later and settled down.
They didn’t forget to watch the news. Everyone saw the news anchor talking about the Two Lords from the Human Alliance.
Knowing that the City was safe, Ron and Nora Night sighed in relief. They could be at ease now.
Jeremy Night was thinking about something else. He wanted to know what really happened in the wilderness.
He didn’t know whether the problem of the improved Beast Powder had been solved or not.
"Jeremy, what are you thinking?" Ron asked.
Hearing that, Jeremy shook his head and said, "I’m thinking about going back to the special base."
Ron and Nora looked at each other. They understood that it was time for their son to go back.
"When are you leaving?" Ron asked.
"Maybe tomorrow morning," Jeremy replied.
"Why don’t you stay here with us for some time?" Nora asked.
"Mother, I will try to visit you guys once or twice a month," Jeremy told them.
Hearing that, Ron and Nora Night relaxed.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night didn’t say anything further. Just then, his device buzzed. He checked it and saw a message from Sister Melinda.
After reading it, he raised his eyebrows.
Head Harold wanted to meet him. Jeremy didn’t know whether they had put an end to the problem yet. He told his parents that he was going to the Red Moon Chamber right away.
A few minutes later,
He left the house and reached the main street. He caught a cab and headed toward the Red Moon Chamber, watching the passing scenery through the window.
He noticed how people had come out of their homes and back onto the streets. They were no longer hiding in shelters. The driver was relaxed and began talking about the wilderness threat.
Jeremy didn’t know what to say. These people didn’t know that the beasts had been attracted due to the improved Beast Powder.
If the news were released, it would definitely cause unrest. He shook his head and collected his thoughts. His own goal was to reach the Tier-4 level next.
Before that, he needed to reach the Peak stage. Due to the recent chaos, he hadn’t had the peace of mind to practice. He would resume his training after returning to the special base.
10 minutes later,
The cab reached the Red Moon Chamber. Jeremy exited the cab, paid the fare, and watched the car drive off.
He turned around and saw the familiar building. Walking up to the door, he pushed it open and stepped inside.
Immediately, his gaze fell on the Admin office on the left side. Staff members were busy working, and members were going about their business.
He walked over to the waiting area and texted Senior Melinda, then waited for her to arrive while observing the surroundings.
The place was the same. Not even the sofas and benches had been changed. Soon, Melinda came to the waiting area and saw Jeremy Night.
"Let’s go to the office," she said.
Jeremy nodded and followed her.
"Hey, isn’t that Jeremy Night?" someone in the office recognized him.
Hearing that, others turned around and saw Melinda and Jeremy walking past.
"It’s him. He seems to be a Tier-4 Beast Tamer now," one of them said.
"Time flies fast," a female Beast Tamer commented.
Then, they went back to their work.
Meanwhile, Jeremy and Melinda reached the office a few minutes later.
The door was open. Melinda asked for permission before entering, and Jeremy followed her inside.
Jeremy saw Head Harold sitting behind the desk. He looked fine; there didn’t seem to be any injuries on him.
Both of them greeted Head Harold.
"Sit," Harold said, raising his head.
Hearing that, both sat down in the chairs and looked toward him.
"You guys must have watched the news. The threat is over. Two Lords from the Human Alliance have repelled the Tier-9 Beasts," Harold said.
Sigh!
Melinda let out a sigh. It was one thing to watch the news, but she felt more relieved hearing it directly from Head Harold, especially since she knew the real reason behind the attack.
Jeremy didn’t react. He wanted to know about the core issue.
"Head, what happened to the improved Beast Powder?" Jeremy asked.
Melinda looked at Head Harold as well.
Hearing the question, Head Harold was not surprised.
He said, "I knew you would ask. But don’t worry. The scent of the improved Beast Powder will dissipate soon."
"City Governor Martin didn’t share much. I guess it must be on the orders of the Tier-9 Beast Tamers," he added.
Hearing that, the two of them fell silent. There was no guarantee that similar incidents wouldn’t occur again. The culprits had escaped, and no one currently had the power to take action against them.
Jeremy didn’t know what to say. To be honest, he was disappointed. He had expected some decisive action against the Darkshade Organisation.
Melinda was quiet as well. She didn’t know what would happen next time.
Harold saw through their thoughts and said, "Don’t think too much. The Human Alliance Elders came to the rescue after learning it was man-made."
"I’m sure they will do something about it. It’s just that they won’t share details with the public," he added.
Jeremy pushed those thoughts aside. He just wanted his parents and the city residents to be safe; that was all that mattered.
Melinda relaxed her brows as well.
Head Harold then took out two small metal boxes from his storage ring and placed them on the table.
Seeing that, Jeremy raised his eyebrows.
"Jeremy, Melinda, you two have done well. So, I’m going to reward you. These contain resources for both of you and your Lifeline Beasts," Harold said.
He looked toward Jeremy Night and added, "Jeremy, you haven’t reached the final step yet. Once you break through this last stage, you will become a Tier-4 Beast Tamer."
"The resources in this box are enough for you to reach the Peak stage," he added.
Jeremy Night thanked him.
