Jeremy used his eye power to gather more details. He then figured out the height of the beasts was 2 to 3 metres tall.
If there were a Tier-7 or higher beast, his senses would have alerted him already. So he took a risk and emerged from the high grass.
More than 20 four-legged tall cat beasts were alerted. They saw a human beast tamer coming into their territory.
One by one, the four-legged cat beasts stood up. They were all at a height of 2 metres.
Jeremy didn’t approach them. Instead, he was going to walk past them, since they were on the path.
He walked slowly on the ground. He didn’t draw his blade or do anything to threaten them. He didn’t even meet their gaze.
On the other hand, the cat beasts were waiting for a signal, because not all of them had stood up. Five beasts were still sitting on the ground.
If they stood up, they would be taller than 2 metres.
These beasts were higher in the hierarchy. They saw the human going somewhere. The beasts had already sensed the strength of the human.
They knew that humans were a weak beast tamer, but for some reason, these cat beasts didn’t order their kin to attack the weak human.
They just silently watched the human beast tamer leave their territory. It was also because these cat beasts were highly intelligent.
They didn’t feel any threat from the human Beast Tamer. They could tell the Beast Tamer was just going to walk past.
And it happened exactly like that.
At the same time, Jeremy Night walked past the beast group without any problems. He didn’t bother the beasts, and they didn’t bother him.
It was unusual. If they were corrupted beasts, he would have been attacked already. There was something going on with beastkind.
He memorized their appearance in his heart. After the mission, he was going to study them. The behaviour of the corrupted beasts was always the same:
They were all bloodthirsty towards humans.
There were exceptions, like the Regular Beasts and Special Beasts, but their populations were scarce. The population of the special beasts was even scarcer.
He had only ever heard of them. The Lifeline Beasts of the Beast Tamers were cubs and eggs of the Regular Beasts.
He hadn’t seen anyone contracting a corrupted beast as a contract beast so far. He then resumed his journey.
It didn’t take long for him to completely leave the territory of the cat beasts. He was worried that they would follow him, but it didn’t happen.
While he was exploring the new path, he spotted a few more Rosebud Flowers. His mood improved. He then went to the spot and collected the flowers one by one.
He needed to find a few more places. He thought that then he would complete the mission easily. After he was done with the collection, he left the place.
Time passed.
Post-noon, Jeremy Night sat down under a tree to rest. He checked the surrounding areas. There were no Rosebud flowers in the surroundings.
But he had come across something more interesting. He saw more skeletal remains of beasts. He recognised some of them; he didn’t recognise others.
Suddenly, the weather began to change. He raised his head and looked at the sky. Dark clouds had appeared out of nowhere.
Now the light had faded. The visibility seemed like evening. Even the weather was unpredictable in this place.
Thunder!
It didn’t take long for a thunderclap to ring out. The sound was so loud that he heard the roars of the corrupted beasts the next second.
They were alerted. He felt a few of the sounds came from not far from his location.
Thunder!
Jeremy then looked towards the tree. He didn’t want to waste time. There were still several hours left before nighttime. He needed to find the flowers.
If he could complete the mission quickly, then he could come back with another mission. He didn’t want his rank to drop further on the Leaderboard Rankings.
Jeremy Night then ended his break and resumed his journey. He used his eye power to scan the place as he walked along the path.
There was no dedicated path, but the area here was not that dense. He could walk without removing the overgrown grass.
Rain!
Rain started pouring down 15 minutes later. The raindrops were huge and dense.
Splash!
It didn’t take long for the rainwater to form small streams on the ground. The downpour of rain was causing a splashing sound.
He didn’t know how he was going to find the Rosebud Flowers in this heavy downpour. Slowly, many streams of water were forming on the ground.
They were making the ground even wetter.
He could only find solid rocks on the ground to step on. The heavy downpour of rain also reduced visibility further.
His speed across the ground slowed. He was also getting drenched in the rainwater.
But Jeremy didn’t relax his alertness. He knew this weather was suitable for some corrupted beasts to hunt.
Buzz!
Not long after, he heard a buzzing sound. Hearing the familiar buzzing sound, he stopped in his tracks.
It hadn’t been that long since he fought against the Red Botfly. He didn’t know which insect beast was flapping its wings right now.
He began to look around using his eye power. It didn’t take long for him to spot the beast. But this time it wasn’t a Red Botfly; it was a different beast.
The beast had a needle-like mouthpart over 6 inches long. It was more intimidating.
The size of the beast is over 12 inches long. The mouthpart is deadly. The two wings were over 6 inches. There were six legs.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night’s expression became serious. He didn’t expect to come across this killer, because these mosquitoes didn’t appear alone. It had to belong to a swarm.
If the swarm appeared, the situation would become serious.
He decided to wait and watch. He was hoping that the beast would ignore him.
