Wilderness (Special Base)
Time passed.
The number of insect mosquito beasts colliding into the Shield of Nets had increased. They were dying before they could reach the Human Beast Tamer.
The insect beasts got alerted. They stopped colliding into the Shield of Nets. Instead, they started charging the human from behind.
Their actions didn’t go unnoticed by Jeremy Night’s eyes. His starlight threads were working fine, so he started using his self-created concept again.
Instead of forming a Shield of Nets, he formed several blades using starlight threads and started swinging them with his index finger.
Pfff!
The insect mosquito beasts were caught off guard. The blades formed using threads started cutting through their bodies.
Swoosh!
The starlight threads were thin, but they were extremely sharp. They killed the insect beasts in one move. Blood spurted from the wounds of the beasts.
The whole place looked bloodied. The ground was stained with blood. The muddy water had already mixed with the blood.
It had caused a disgusting smell of blood to spread around. This blood scent might be attractive to the corrupted beasts.
Blood had sprayed mostly on his body, as he was fighting in close quarters. The smell of blood attacked his nostrils.
The beasts were killed in one move, and the sliced parts fell to the ground. He was also using the real blade in his left hand to kill the beasts.
As time passed, his left arm was getting tired as well.
At the same time, the number of insect mosquito beasts was reducing.
Each blade move took the life of one insect beast. It took another half an hour to eliminate the last beast.
When the battle was over, Jeremy Night was completely drenched in blood. He needed to find clean water to cleanse the blood stains.
Swoosh!
He departed from the place. He moved through the dense and muddy terrain again until he came across solid ground.
From there, he started walking faster. Soon, he came across small ponds. They were filled with rainwater. He walked up to a pond and saw that the water was clean.
Splash!
He began to clean the blood stains on his body. He was glad that there was a pond. If he roamed the area with the blood stains, it would have attracted the beasts.
Just as he was cleaning, he used his eye power to scan the surroundings. Surprisingly, he found the Rosebell Flowers. This time, they were in a large quantity.
A hint of relief flashed in his eyes. He was worried that he might have to spend the night again in the wilderness.
He was now in an area more dangerous than the previous one; it was uncharted territory for him. After he was done with the cleaning, he began to collect the flowers.
The number of flowers here was in the dozens. None of them were affected by the heavy downpour of rain. His count quickly reached 50.
He achieved the mission quantity. He didn’t want to pluck any other flowers, so he began his return journey.
Time passed.
The return journey was smooth. He didn’t come across any corrupted beasts. Night arrived, but he was already out of the rocky terrain.
He came across a series of big shade trees. He found a suitable tree to carve out a hole in. He then hid inside the tree hole.
As time passed, the activity of the corrupted beasts began to increase. Roaring sounds reverberated throughout the area.
Because of the heavy rain during the daytime, more beasts came out of their hideouts in search of prey. But there was no activity in the area around the series of shade trees.
Jeremy Night was only half-asleep. If there was any crisis, his senses would alert him. He also trusted his lifeline beasts.
When morning came, he had passed the night without any problems. He then resumed his return journey.
A few hours later,
He returned to the base. After entering the premises, he immediately started heading towards the administration building.
On the way, he came across the first-year and second-year students. They saw him. Their faces were filled with shock. They started discussing it right away.
Seeing this, he didn’t mind their gazes. At this point in time, everyone knew about Jeremy Night. Everyone was familiar with his name.
It was all because of the Leaderboard Rankings. They had thought Jeremy Night might take a long time to come back from the 5th zone.
They didn’t expect him to appear here. Looking at his attire, they understood that he was coming back from a wilderness mission.
Jeremy kind of understood what this was about. He was ready to work hard to get back into the top 50 on the Leaderboard Rankings.
Creak!
He reached the administration building. He opened the door and stepped inside. He was greeted by the noise of everyone chatting.
Jeremy stopped and looked around the place. He then spotted Elder Smith. There was a queue in front of the desk. He went over and stood at the back of the queue.
On the other hand, Elder Smith was registering missions for others. He saw Jeremy Night and was surprised by his presence.
He didn’t expect the young man to complete the mission so soon.
"Not even two days have passed," he said in his heart.
Because there was no time limit for Jeremy Night’s mission.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Night was looking at the Leaderboard Rankings. His name had fallen further down; his current rank was 62.
It could go down further, because there were ten queues in the building filled with people who were either going to take missions or submit them.
So, the rankings were going to fluctuate. To be honest, he was a bit surprised by the number of people standing in the queues.
He used to see only one or two queues before. He then thought of something, and his expression changed.
He had heard from Elder Leah earlier that forces from the top three zones were coming. They were going to hire Tier-7 Beast Tamers from the base.
If possible, they might hire the second-year students who were Tier-6 Beast Tamers.
