Special Base (4th Zone)

Time passed.

The Beast Tamers left one after another when their work was done. The queue was beginning to shrink.

From time to time, the Beast Tamers in the line murmured among themselves after seeing Jeremy Night.

They saw Jeremy Night’s rank falling, as he was the only Tier-3 Beast Tamer on the Leaderboard Rankings.

Though they noticed Jeremy Night’s current strength was Tier-4, the official record had not been updated yet.

Jeremy Night furrowed his eyebrows. The problem was not them looking at him, but that he could hear their conversations.

From the conversations, it was clear that most of them were looking down on him. They thought he wouldn’t be able to attract the attention of the top three forces.

Jeremy was surprised that there was already a fresh rumor going around about him, like he was trying to get into the top three zones.

It was true that his goal was to enter the top three zones, but it was a long-term goal of his. He had never said that he was going to use the current situation of the special base.

Jeremy thought that some elders might have voiced something. He shook his head and continued to wait for his turn to come.

A few minutes later,

He mostly avoided trouble, but he saw more trouble coming toward him. He saw the young heirs from City A of the 4th Zone again.

A red, curly-haired young man was leading them.

Jeremy Night recalled his name. His name was Oscar Fletcher. He had only crossed paths with him and his friends a few times.

His gaze then fell on the female Beast Tamer next to him. Her name was Sarah, and the others belonged to the same group, though he didn’t know their names.

Oscar Fletcher walked up to Jeremy Night with his friends.

"Jeremy Night, it appears you have reached Tier-4. But we have reached Tier-5 already. You have some catching up to do." After saying that, Oscar let out a laugh.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..."

Right then, Sarah and the others let out a laugh as well.

It didn’t take long for their laughter to trigger the laughter of others.

But the sensible crowd didn’t smile. They understood that the group was here to cause trouble.

The elders behind the mission desk noticed the situation as well, but they didn’t stop it. Such arguments were common here.

As long as they didn’t indulge in direct confrontation, it was fine. Only Elder Smith and one or two others raised their eyebrows.

They didn’t want the atmosphere of the special base to be disturbed.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night got angry, but he didn’t show it on his face. He didn’t expect the atmosphere to change this quickly.

"Have you laughed enough? You can stop bothering me now," Jeremy Night said with a smile.

Hearing that, the smile on Oscar’s face vanished. The others stopped smiling as well.

"No matter what, you won’t be able to enter the 4th Zone with Tier-4 strength, let alone go to the top three zones," Oscar commented.

Gasp!

An exclamation occurred. No one expected him to say this; it was quite rude. The expressions of some Beast Tamers darkened.

But the majority of the others didn’t find anything wrong with it. It was a fact, because Jeremy Night’s strength was low.

Oscar saw that Jeremy Night continued to remain silent. He got angry and left the place with Sarah and the others.

Sarah and the others gave Jeremy Night a look before leaving.

Jeremy Night saw them, but he didn’t react. The drama was over, and the others began to mind their own business.

Soon, the queue began to dwindle further. Jeremy Night’s turn came. He looked toward Elder Smith and greeted him.

He wished to submit the mission materials first. He handed over the storage container, and Elder Smith accepted it.

He then opened it and inspected the contents, seeing the Rosebell Flowers. There were exactly 50. He counted the flowers.

After confirming the mission quantity, he recorded the information and submitted the mission.

"Your points will be credited soon. And don’t take the words of others to heart," Elder Smith said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, Jeremy nodded his head. He then exited the administration building and headed back to the accommodation building.

While walking, he took out his device. He texted a message to Elder John stating that he was back and had submitted the mission.

Then he got a reply from him the next second. He was a bit taken aback. He opened the message and read it.

Elder John wanted to see him. Seeing that, he changed direction and headed to the office building.

A few minutes later,

He arrived at the building. He took the stairs and quickly reached the floor of the elders’ offices. He walked past the offices of the other elders and arrived in front of Elder John’s office.

He then asked for permission to enter. The door was already open.

Next, he opened the door and stepped inside. He saw Elder John sitting behind the desk. He nodded to him before taking the seat opposite him.

Elder John looked at Jeremy Night. He noticed there were no injuries on his body, but he caught a faint, disgusting smell. The smell reminded him of insect beasts.

He smiled and said, "It appears you fought against insect-type beasts."

Hearing that, Jeremy Night was surprised. He nodded his head and replied, "I came across one Botfly and a swarm of Black Mosquitoes."

John said, "They are dangerous in numbers, but most of their strength was around Tier-4 and Tier-5."

"Since you completed the mission, your ranking will start increasing on the leaderboard rankings. But you need a few more to do it, especially to make it back into the top 50," John said.

"I thought so," Jeremy replied.

"However, I discussed this problem with Elder Sandra. She has a special mission for you. If you can complete it, you will get 5,000 Credit Points and 8,000 Leaderboard Points," John said with a smile.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night was stunned. He thought he had misheard at first. Then he looked at the serious face of Elder John and understood that he was not joking.
