STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 1045: Spending time practicing my skills

Special Base (4th Zone)

Jeremy Night immediately went to take a shower. He spent twenty minutes in the bath. After coming out, he changed into fresh clothes.

He then decided to take a break before heading to the training facility at night. He wanted to adapt to his new strength.

Jeremy made up his mind to hit the training facility at night.

Nighttime came.

He left for the training facility wearing his combat suit. When he came out of the building, he ran into other members who were coming and going.

He understood that some were returning from missions, while others were heading out into the wilderness at night.

He was surprised, because not many groups ventured into the wilderness after dark. He thought the tense situation must have forced everyone to push their limits.

Collecting his thoughts, he headed toward the training facility.

Along the way, he passed members who had just finished their training and exchanged nods with them after making brief eye contact.

When he reached the training facility and entered, he was greeted by a significant crowd.

He didn’t know whether he could find an available room for himself. He walked along the corridor to check, but saw that the rooms were fully booked.

Team members were waiting outside for their comrades to finish. It appeared the Beast Taming Teams were sharing rooms, either doing group drills or individual training.

He eventually reached the last room and noticed the timer: only five minutes remained before the occupant finished.

He decided to wait there. As time ticked down, he began observing the people around him. Some wore visible tension on their faces.

Because everyone was taking on missions and there were no easy assignments left at the mission desk, everyone was assigned difficult tasks.

The elders must have realized this and made the missions even more competitive.

Five minutes later, a person walked out, his entire body drenched in sweat. Judging by the pressure he exerted, he was a Tier-5 Beast Tamer.

The person saw Jeremy Night and recognized him, offering a simple nod before leaving.

Jeremy then entered the training room. He saw attack marks gouged all over the walls, some small, others massive.

He realized the previous occupant must have unleashed a Lifeline beast ability or an innate talent.

He shut the door behind him and unsheathed his blade. Without channeling starlight power, he began swinging the weapon casually.

It didn’t take long for him to clear his mind. He began drilling basic blade moves. Ever since he had reached the advanced stage, he could take down a Tier-5 beast using basic moves alone.

Time passed.

He shifted from basic moves to intermediate techniques, dedicating time to each form. At one point, these intermediate moves had been difficult for him, but now he could execute them with ease.

The blade slashed through the air with a distinct tearing sound. He began incorporating footwork alongside his strikes.

He did not have a physical target to practice on, which would have been ideal. Instead, he visualized targets in his mind and trained against them, executing steady horizontal and vertical slashes.

Soon, he transitioned to advanced blade skills, bringing in more complex footwork and precision strikes. He could feel that his body was significantly lighter, an advantage gained from his breakthrough to the Peak Stage.

He then began practicing combination attacks: slashing forward before following up with a thrust and a parry, maintaining precision strikes against the imaginary targets.

Next, he began picturing the targets as insect beasts. The battle against the swarm had pushed him to his absolute limit, and he replayed those memories in his mind, especially the grueling hours spent fighting off waves of them.

He recalled where his strikes could have been cleaner. He needed to process sensory and visual information much faster. With that realization, his simulated combat improved noticeably.

As he trained, he adapted to his new strength rapidly. Perhaps it was due to the breakthrough combined with this focused session, but his performance grew sharper.

After spending an hour on advanced blade techniques, he switched to specific sword arts.

He decided to practice Triple Rapid Cuts, Shadow Slash, and Blade One Move. Triple Rapid Cuts was a lower-tier blade skill, whereas Blade One Move was far more advanced.

He first spent time drilling Triple Rapid Cuts. His attacks sliced through the air faster than ever, an improvement he attributed to the boost from his recent breakthrough.

When he practiced Shadow Slash, he felt the blade move even quicker and with minimal effort. He reasoned that for a silent kill, Shadow Slash was far superior. He spent considerable time polishing the technique.

Then he moved to his core technique: Blade One Move.

It could be practiced up to the Tier-7 Stage. It had been given to him by Elder Gisela, who mentioned that its creator was a late Tier-7 Beast Tamer. However, the manual contained only a single Chapter, titled "Silence."

As time passed, he invested deep focus into it. The blade began radiating a mysterious energy, which he assumed occurred when pairing advanced blade control with high-tier techniques.

His understanding of it was still shallow; he needed to study blade mastery further.

Afterward, he began training in close-combat techniques. He channeled rhythmic vibrations against the imagined insect beasts to see how the technique felt post-breakthrough.

The vibration power was noticeably stronger, and he possessed far better control over it. If he could increase the frequency of the vibration, his strikes would become even more destructive.

Still, practicing on a real target would have been much more effective. He continued drilling close-combat strikes until he felt satisfied with the training session.

Midnight came.

Jeremy decided to leave, but he thought of the Star Fist training. He had practiced the others, but he had forgotten about it. He could not leave like that.

He then looked at the time before deciding to practice the Star Fist.

Two hours later,

He left the training facility and headed back to the room.
