Special Base (4th Zone)
The following day,
Jeremy Night did nothing but relax. He had an appointment with Elder John later in the evening.
When he got bored, he drew the starlight thread from the mental zone and started practising its control.
The starlight threads could extend longer. Now he could use them like a real blade. It would also strengthen his self-created technique, "Shield of Nets."
So far, he was able to form 4 layers of net shields. Now he thought he could add one more layer. If he could do that, then the shield could extend beyond 3 ft.
Time passed,
When evening came, he left the accommodation building and headed straight towards the office building. He was looking forward to the mission.
A few minutes later,
He arrived at the office. He asked for permission before entering the office room. He saw Elder John behind the desk.
He greeted him before taking a seat. He sat on the chair opposite him.
John saw Jeremy Night, but he couldn’t take his eyes off him because he saw the aura around Jeremy Night was brighter and stronger.
"What happened to you?"
"Did you achieve a Breakthrough?" John asked straightforwardly.
To that, Jeremy Night smiled and nodded his head.
"I have reached the peak stage from the mid-stage. The next stage is Tier-4," Jeremy Night replied.
John’s eyes flashed with surprise. It was really good news to hear. The mission required at least a Tier-5 Beast Tamer to handle.
Now that Jeremy Night was one step away from becoming Tier-4, he thought the young man could handle it more easily.
"Alright, let’s talk about the mission." After saying that, John took out a modern mapping helmet from his storage ring.
"It’s the latest mapping helmet from the Human Alliance. We elders use this to collect data. You don’t have to do anything other than explore new places. The helmet will record everything and map the place," John said with a smile.
"Later, we will inspect the footage to mark the dangerous and non-dangerous places," John added.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night was impressed. He had really thought he needed to gather the details himself. But the device would do the work, and he only needed to travel the place.
John observed Jeremy’s reaction before saying, "Don’t think you don’t have anything else to do. You have to fight against the beasts and stay away from the mud holes."
Jeremy Night listened to him and rooted everything in his mind.
"Do you have any doubts?" John asked.
"How do I activate it?" Jeremy asked.
"Just press this button. It will turn on. A blue light will appear. If you press it again, the light will turn off," John explained.
"What about the rain?"
"Recently, there has been a heavy downpour of rain. Would the device be affected?" he asked.
"Good question. The device is waterproof. You can wear the helmet in the rain. It won’t hinder your mission," John replied.
"Alright, when should I leave?" Jeremy asked.
"If you are prepared, you can leave tonight. By morning you might reach the border area. From there, you can turn on the device," John said.
Jeremy nodded his head. He then left the place. He was ready to leave right away, but he was going to make some final arrangements.
He headed to the administration building to buy necessities. He had come across insect swarm beasts last time.
If he had enough stock of the beast-repellent powder, he could have avoided the situation. Soon, he reached the administration building. He entered inside and went to the store area.
He approached the staff and listed the important items, including the beast-repellent powder and anti-venom liquid. He also bought some stock of healing agents.
He was heading to the border next. If he came across Tier-8 beasts unexpectedly, then these healing agents might save his life.
He recalled his last escape from the Tier-8 bird-type corrupted beast. He was close to death at that time. He had received some injuries from the impact.
10 minutes later,
Jeremy Night left the place after he was done with the purchases. There were elders behind the mission desk as well. They had thought Jeremy Night would come to select a mission.
Instead, they watched him leave the administration building.
Jeremy Night returned to his room a few minutes later. His device buzzed. He picked up the device and saw that the special mission was registered. He opened the message to read further.
The same rewards were mentioned, but there was no time limit. He then began to get ready.
20 minutes later,
He left the special base. Before leaving, he sent a text to Elder John as a routine call. He had officially started the special mission.
Jeremy walked towards the woods. He used his eye power and immediately felt the improvement. He could cover more distance.
These were also benefits brought by the Breakthrough. If he achieved further breakthroughs in the future, his eye powers would grow.
He saw some Beast Taming groups coming back from their missions. He immediately used his second eye power. Living things wouldn’t escape his eyes.
There were no beasts, only humans. He saw that among the Beast Taming groups, there were injured people as well. He then shifted his gaze and focused in his direction.
Soon, he entered the woods and started moving towards the southeastern direction. He could see that there was no one in this direction. It showed not many Beast Tamers were using the path.
He decided to find a resting place soon.
As time passed, he left the outer area of the wilderness and came to the inner area. He could finally see the movements of the lower-tier beasts.
But they were not in his path. He ignored them and continued in his direction. He soon came across a series of large shade trees.
He was looking for a good tree to stay in. Then, his eyes spotted an already existing tree hole. He walked up to that tree to check it out.
He saw a similar carved-out tree hole. But the place had been used a long time ago. Currently, tree twigs and leaves filled the place.
He took time to clear them out before staying inside.
