Border (Special Base)
Stella continued absorbing the natural energy. Jeremy stood there and watched the special tree branch. He wondered how it had landed here.
If it had been here for a long time, then corrupted beasts must have noticed it. He thought there must be another reason for it.
The green tree branch began to lose its color. It showed that energy was being drained. It didn’t take long for the remaining part to lose its green color.
The branch part looked like that of any other ordinary tree.
Stella then stopped absorbing the natural energy from the special tree branch.
[I am done absorbing. It saved me several days of work.]
Jeremy heard Stella’s voice in his mind. Only then did he relax his eyebrows. He then noticed that the green patches on the ground would be dry soon.
He then began the walk back. After reaching the border stretch, he turned on the device again and began to do his work.
He didn’t come across any corrupted beasts. Not only higher-tier beasts, but he hadn’t spotted mid-tier beasts either.
It showed that Elder John had given correct information, but he was not accurate with the geography.
Jeremy shook his head. From time to time, he would go a few hundred metres down into the barren land.
Then he would come back, because he could only see an endless stretch of the border land.
Post noon,
After walking down a further couple of miles, he took the device out and checked the map. He saw that he had walked to new places and explored them.
Especially, this stretch of the border was not marked on the map, so he had covered more new places. He thought it was enough.
There was no need to take further risks. It was the third day today. Jeremy Night decided to make the return journey.
He wanted to leave the core area before nighttime. That would happen if he left now. Jeremy then put away the device and began to make the return journey.
He turned off the helmet and put it inside the storage bracelet.
[Are you going to end the mission?]
He heard Stella.
"Yes, I’m done with the mission. The elders will be impressed with the details collected so far," Jeremy replied to her in his mind.
He then began the return journey. Stella was helping him out, so he started using the movement method right away.

The footwork was aiding him in covering more distance.
A few hours later,
As it got closer to evening, he was able to reach the core area of the wilderness. He couldn’t believe he was able to do it in a few hours.
He knew it was because of Stella. She used her mental power to observe a large area while giving him an easy route to travel.
He had also avoided coming across beasts this way. It had also saved him more time.
Nighttime came.
Jeremy Night came to a place closer to the inner area. He had crossed the danger post of the core area.
Still, he didn’t stop. He decided to continue traveling.
Time passed.
With the help of Stella, the rest of the journey became smooth. He took breaks in between before continuing with the journey.
In the early morning,
He came out of the wilderness and reached the special base. Jeremy couldn’t believe it. He calculated the time; it had taken him only eight hours from the border to get here.
He had even taken breaks in between. Yet, he had made it back faster.
"Stella, thanks to you, I made it back safely," he said to her in his mind.
[We are a team. Don’t mention it.]
Jeremy heard Stella’s voice and smiled. He then started heading towards the entrance. He looked around.
He saw that the Beast Taming Teams were coming and going. They were actively doing missions.
After entering the camp, he headed towards the accommodation building. This mission had been given by Elder John, so he needed to hand over the mission results to him.
A few minutes later,
He returned to his room. He opened the door and went inside, shutting the door behind him. Next, he went to the sofa and lay down.
Before falling asleep, he noticed that Stella was absorbing the natural energy. She was recovering now.
He then closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Time passed.
He woke up a few hours later. He checked the time; it was forenoon. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom.
The bath lasted for 20 minutes. He then came out and changed into a fresh uniform, taking a few minutes to get ready.
Next, he checked on Stella. She was still absorbing the natural energy. He decided to head out.
A few minutes later,
He headed towards the office building. He texted Elder John on the way that he was coming.
He immediately got a reply back from him. Elder John was in his room, waiting for him. He reached the office building and arrived in front of Elder John’s office.
Creak!
Jeremy then got permission to enter. He opened the door and walked inside. He saw Elder John sitting behind the desk.
John saw Jeremy Night and began to observe him. He knew that the mission was not an easy one. He thought it would take at least a week to complete the mission, including the travel time.
But the young man had returned in three days.
"Elder John," Jeremy Night greeted him.
"Sit," John said.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night sat down in the seat. Then he raised his head and looked at him.
Before Elder John could ask about the mission, he took out the helmet device from the storage ring and gave it to him.
John raised his eyebrows in surprise. He accepted the helmet device and placed it on the table.
"So what happened?" John asked.
"Yeah, I mapped some places successfully. But I couldn’t continue with the mission. I spotted the movements of higher-tier beasts there," Jeremy said to him.
John nodded his head. He believed Jeremy Night. If not for the threats, he would have continued doing the mission.
But John wanted to hear more details. Especially, he wanted to learn more about the corrupted beasts’ appearance there.
