Stripping For My Devil Ex Husband

Chapter 94: Obsessed With The Devil

By two in the afternoon, federal law enforcement vehicles surrounded the Vance Enterprises, their red and blue lights flashing against the polished building facade.

Swathes of media personnel and news helicopters hovered outside as armed federal agents stormed the main lobby, flashing federal search warrants to the horrified security staff.

Inside the executive conference room, Richard Vance and Mark Vance sat white-knuckled across from the lead FBI investigator and three federal prosecutors.

"Richard Vance, Mark Vance," the lead agent declared coldly, unslinging a thick leather folder. "You are under federal investigation for corporate espionage, intellectual property theft, and conspiracy tied to the murder of Mia Henderson. We have warrants to seize your servers, financial ledgers, and personal devices."

Instead of panicking or calling their defense attorneys, Richard and Mark looked at each other, a dark, desperate look passing between them.

"We didn’t implement this," Richard blurted out immediately, his voice trembling with frantic urgency as he pushed his laptop across the table toward the lead investigator. "We were forced into this!"

The lead agent narrowed his eyes. "Forced?"

"It was Vivian Stark!" Mark yelled out, leaning forward, completely devoid of any loyalty. "Vivian Stark and her father, Harrison Stark! They were the ones who brought us the stolen Sterling Global marketing strategy! They handed us the stolen files!"

Richard rapidly pulled up encrypted email threads and high-definition security camera footage from the Vance Enterprises server, spinning the screen toward the agents.

The video footage clearly showed Vivian Stark stepping into Richard’s office three weeks ago, tossing a flash drive onto his desk, and handing him a set of financial threat documents.

"Look at the footage!" Richard pleaded, sweat dripping down his forehead. "She blackmailed us! She threatened to leak fabricated reports of Vance Enterprises’ internal financial losses to the national press if we didn’t launch Sterling Global’s product under our name!"

"Do you have any idea what that would have done to us?!"

Mark chimed in, his cruel face flushed as his hands shook violently.

"Our stock would have plunged to zero! Our name would be completely tarnished, and our five thousand employees would have gone on strike overnight! We were facing total ruin if we didn’t comply with Harrison and Vivian Stark’s demands!"

The prosecutors leaned in, reviewing the timestamped video and the encrypted email threads where Vivian explicitly threatened to destroy the Vance family if they didn’t cooperate.

"She orchestrated the entire leak from Anastasia’s computer," Richard gasped, eager to pin everything on the Starks to save his own neck. "She told us Mia was handling the inside work at Sterling Global! We had no idea she was going to have Mia murdered when things got hot! We were just trying to keep our company afloat!"

The lead agent stood up slowly, closing his notebook with a heavy snap.

"So what you’re telling us, Mr. Vance," the agent spoke coldly, "is that Harrison Stark and Vivian Stark are the primary architects of both the corporate espionage and the extortion racket?"

"Yes!" Richard and Mark shouted in unison. "Go arrest them! They’re the ones who destroyed everything!"

The lead investigator turned to his deputy. "Notify the field unit at the Stark residence immediately. Issue a federal warrant for capital murder, corporate espionage, and high-level extortion against Harrison Stark and Vivian Stark."

In the private lounge of the city’s most exclusive gentlemen’s club, Harrison Stark stood before three of the most powerful political figures in the state, his hands trembling as he poured himself a drink.

"The FBI is moving on Vance Enterprises right now," Harrison hissed, his voice laced with frantic panic. "Richard Vance is throwing my name around to save his own neck. I need you to pull some strings with the Department of Justice... cancel the warrants!"

The eldest man in the circle, a powerful senator, slowly took a drag from his cigar and looked at Harrison with absolute, unfeeling coldness.

"You brought capital murder and federal espionage to our doorstep, Harrison," the senator spoke smoothly. "We protect businessmen, not murderers. Damian Sterling has locked this case down tight, and the federal prosecutors aren’t taking calls."

"So what am I supposed to do?!" Harrison choked out, his face pale with sweat.

The senator leaned forward, his voice dropping into a harsh, pragmatic whisper. "You save yourself. Your daughter left a paper trail, hired a hitman, and got some civilian killed. Cut the infection before it kills the whole body, Harrison. Throw her to the wolves."

Two hours later, the heavy glass doors of the federal precinct swung open.

Harrison Stark walked in, flanked by two of the highest-paid criminal defense attorneys in the country. He moved with a practiced, solemn posture, adjusting his designer coat as the lead FBI investigator met him in an interrogation room.

"Mr. Stark," the lead agent said, leaning over the metal table. "We were just about to send a tactical unit to your estate."

"I am here voluntarily, Agent," Harrison spoke, his voice dripping with rehearsed sorrow and heavy grief. "I came to clear my name and deliver the truth about what has been happening under my roof."

His lead attorney placed a thick medical folder onto the steel table.

"My client is a victim of his daughter’s severe, unchecked psychological delusions," the attorney stated calmly. "Vivian Stark has been mentally unstable for years. She has developed an unhealthy, dangerous obsession with Damian Sterling."

The investigator raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "An obsession?"

"She was consumed by hatred when Damian married Anastasia Vance," Harrison blurted out, wiping an invisible tear from his eye with a pristine handkerchief. "I tried to stop her! God as my witness, I begged her to seek help! But she secretly used my company’s assets to orchestrate this entire plot. She bought off Mia, leaked the files, and forced Richard Vance to launch the product... all just to tear down Anastasia and make Damian suffer!"

The lead agent studied Harrison’s face, utterly unamused by the performance, but recognizing the legal dead-end Harrison was constructing.

"And Mia Henderson’s murder?" The agent asked coldly. "Did your ’delusional’ daughter order a hitman on her own, too?"

"I had no knowledge of it!" Harrison insisted, his voice cracking with terrifying conviction. "The moment I realized how far out of control she had spiraled, I tried to pull her back... but she wouldn’t stop! She is sick, Agent. She belongs in a federal facility."

The investigator leaned over the table, staring straight into Harrison’s cold, calculating eyes.

"Where is she right now, Mr. Stark?"

Harrison didn’t hesitate for a single second. Without a trace of remorse or fatherly protection, he leaned forward and uttered her exact coordinates.

"She’s hiding at our private lake house in Blackwood Hill," Harrison whispered. "Room 3B. Take her into custody before she ruins anyone else’s life."
