The pillar immediately charged out of the Law Well. The silhouette didn't move, and moments later, it dispersed.
'Fuck!' Kyle thought from outside the Law Well. 'Fuck!'
'This is the worst-case scenario! The Formation Array scales with someone's Realm, but it has a minimum strength requirement equal to the strength of a Late Sage Demon.'
'If this were a normal Late Sage Demon, I might be able to find some kind of way to cheat myself through this battle, but it's not! This is not an opponent but a focused explosion. The other Demons break the silhouettes to disperse their explosive powers, but in the end, they are still victim to the explosion!'
'Yes, I can probably smash that silhouette into pieces, but there's no way I can survive the following explosion. The pillar can't even properly resist the ambient temperature!'
Kyle took a deep breath. 'There has to be some kind of way to get past this. I also have a ranged attack. If I destroy the silhouette from a distance, I might survive.'
The pillar walked back into the Law Well, and some seconds later, another silhouette appeared. Without hesitation, the pillar ran out of the Law Well again.
'Ten kilometers! This guy spawned merely ten kilometers away from me. That's far too close. I need a distance of at least 200 kilometers to have any kind of chance.'
The pillar went back in again, and another silhouette appeared.
15 kilometers.Another time.
13 kilometers.
Eight kilometers.
Ten kilometers.
19 kilometers.
Kyle tried it over a hundred times, and in the end, he stopped trying.
'Shortest distance is five kilometers. The longest one is twenty kilometers.'
'There's no way.'
'I could just consume the explosion since it doesn't have a will on it, but there's no way nobody will notice. My human body could survive it without issues, but that will expose me. If I change the pillar's body to fully focus on defense, I won't have enough power to disperse the silhouette. At that point, the explosion would be over ten times as powerful.'
'I could use my Spirit to influence my surroundings, but that will also expose me. I could fuse all of my Laws, including the Level Four Laws, but that also won't work. Sure, I would probably survive, but there's no way nobody will become suspicious.'
Kyle's mind went through countless plans and eventualities.
'There's just no way. With my current kit, I can't possibly survive here. The only way would be to garner the attention of the Ascendant Demon and convince them to give me access, but how am I supposed to do that? I've already shown far too much power. If I show even more, nobody will believe that I'm a Demon.'
'The Demons need to specialize in something to gain the permission to comprehend Laws here. Either you need such a high defense that you can survive the explosion, or you need such offensive capabilities that the explosion disperses, or you need so much speed that you can outrun it. If you're a Fighter Demon, you can also survive by being good at everything.'
'I could do all of these things, but I simply do not have enough Energy.'
Kyle looked at the Law Well with unwillingness before taking a deep breath. Finally, he released a sigh of resignation.
'I concede. There's no way I can get through this without dying or exposing myself.'
The pillar turned around and left the vicinity of the Law Well.
'Maybe I can look at the other Elements.'
After some time, Kyle found a Law Well for Spacetime Wind. Yet, when he saw it, he didn't even try. Watching what the other Demons had to do to gain access told him that gaining access to this Law Well was impossible.
'They're fighting a concentrated stream of wind. Peerless speed allows you to enter the Law Well. Peerless defense allows you to resist the wind. Peerless offense pushes the wind back. If I could launch several attacks in a short time, I would be powerful enough to gain entrance, but sadly, I can't.'
Next, Kyle looked at the Law Well for Spacetime Water.
'An unending hailstorm. Evade the stones, destroy them, or defend against them. Again, impossible for me.'
The Law Well for Spacetime Lightning.
'Silhouettes again. Same as the Law Well for Spacetime Fire.'
The Law Well for Spacetime Earth.
Once more, Kyle sighed in resignation. 'The materials are only found in golems that keep multiplying and growing. If you're fast enough, you can snatch the newborn golems before they become too strong. If you're powerful enough, you can kill the really strong golems and collect their materials. If you're durable enough, you can slowly consume the materials that fall to the ground while the golems attack you.'
'I can destroy a weak golem with my attack, but I'm not fast enough to get to them in time. Additionally, my following moments of weakness will expose me to other golems.'
Kyle shook his head and went to the Law Well for Spacetime Metal. If he could collect some of the metals, he could use Star Genesis' Formation Array more. According to his estimates, he had enough Spacetime Metals to comprehend two Level Five Laws, but afterward, he would be out.
When Kyle saw that the Spacetime Metal Law Well was also filled with golems, he gave up.
Next, he went to the Law Well for Spacetime Darkness.
'Balls of darkness that chase you,' Kyle thought with a helpless sigh. 'Again, speed, defense, offense, or being great at everything...'
'Destroy the balls. Resist the balls. Flee from the balls.'
Kyle went to the last Law Well, the one for Spacetime Light.
'More balls,' Kyle thought. 'Same thing as always.'
The pillar just stood in the middle of nowhere, not moving. Kyle was desperately trying to find a solution.
'Can't even use the Primordial Force Laws. All of them are about influencing your surroundings, and Demons can't do that. There are some very rare beasts that have unique abilities related to one of the Primordial Force Laws, but they're just inherent abilities. If I want to resist the Spacetime Elements, I need to mess with their Time and Space Energies, but I can't do that as a Demon.'
'There's just no way.'
'It's impossible.'
Kyle looked towards the west. 'Could Sebastian and Star Genesis help? Well, if they rush through the Compression Realm and advance to the Wisdom Fire Realm, they could probably get some Spacetime Metals from the Law Well for Spacetime Metal.'
'Sadly, that also wouldn't help me. The golems are made of semi-permanent metals. After they die, their metals disperse within a couple of minutes. Sebastian would need to charge in and out repeatedly, delivering metals. That would be more than strange and suspicious.'
Kyle kept thinking, but there was just no good solution.
'I should try talking to Sebastian and Star Genesis. Maybe they can think of something. If not even they can think of something, I have to do something drastic. Either go to the Elemental Dimension or go back to Humanity.'
'I hope they can think of a solution.'
