The group remained silent for a while. They had already entertained the possibility that the Overseer just wanted to escape from this world, but as more time passed, this possibility seemed more like a certainty.
They just wanted to leave Ayuvar.
They couldn't be sure how all of this had happened. Had the Overseer become an Immortal before becoming an Overseer? Usually, beasts in Primary Worlds couldn't become Immortals since that would break the balance, but beasts also couldn't become Overseers.
Since the Overseer was the Overseer, the world had to view them as a human to some extent, but did it also allow them to become an Immortal? What if the Overseer was just a Peak Ascendant Demon? If so, how did all of this develop?
Did they become Immortal and kill the old Overseer? Did the old Overseer hand them the position voluntarily? Did they kill the Overseer while still being a Peak Ascendant Demon? Did they realize that they couldn't ascend and became an Overseer as a response, or did they accept the position first but realized later that they couldn't ascend?
As Kyle thought about the world after coming to this realization, a picture emerged.
"I think they're desperate," Kyle said. "They're fighting an impossible fight, but they're also not giving up."
"There has to be a way out. I've tried this, and it didn't work, but what if I tried this? Okay, that also didn't work, but what about this? What if I do this? One failure after another. They're getting more desperate, but they're still trying to find a solution. At least, that's what I think is going on," Kyle explained.
"But there is a way out," Star Genesis said. "The Overseer can allow Seekers from the Supreme World to enter. As long as they can enter, they can bring them out without any issues. It's not even that difficult. As long as they allow a human to become Immortal and as long as that human swears an oath to help them, they can get out."
"And then what?" Sebastian asked. "They're in the Supreme World, and the oath is fulfilled. Next thing you know, the former Overseer stands in front of a Lord, who is not bound by an oath. Look at it from their viewpoint. The Overseer has suppressed humanity for countless years, and now, they're supposed to hand their life to a human. Additionally, how are they supposed to know which request for entry is the correct one? It's not like you can customize the request. If the roles were reversed, would you hand your life to an unknown Lord Demon?"Star Genesis sighed. "Of course not, but if there's really no other way, what else am I supposed to do?"
"What if there is a way?" Kyle asked.
"Is there one?" Star Genesis asked.
"I don't know, but what if it's possible? Would you hand your life to an unknown Lord Demon?" Kyle asked.
"I can't give a concrete answer without more context," Star Genesis said.
"But that's all the context you get," Kyle added. "That's all the context the Overseer has."
"What's the point of asking such a question?" Star Genesis asked with a bit of annoyance. "Yes, it's not easy to answer such a question. Yes, that's probably how the Overseer feels. Can we focus on something that actually contributes to the plan instead of philosophizing over hypotheticals? What about Death? Can Death get them out?"
Kyle glanced at Sebastian. He knew more about this than he did.
"This is an interesting question, and just like every other interesting question, it shares the same answer," Sebastian said with a sigh.
"It depends," Sebastian added. "How much Death? How much control does the person have over Death? Is it administered from outside Ayuvar or from the inside? What are they willing to sacrifice? It's not easy."
"Attacking a world from the outside is almost impossible. The worlds themselves are all in the Supreme World, and if you attack another world inside of it, the Supreme World will fight back. You will be fighting the entire Cosmos, which basically means fighting the God of the Cosmos. The Overseer would need to give you permission to use Death from outside, but at that point, you don't need to use it. You can just pull them out instead."
"If it's administered from the inside, the defensive mechanisms of the world will immediately kill you. Only the Overseer can circumvent the defensive mechanisms to some extent. If the Overseer has access to Death, they can infect the world with it, but then what? The World Wall is still there. The only way to get rid of it is to destroy it."
"You can do that with Death, but no matter how you slice it, it won't end well. Make a small hole? The world realizes you've damaged it, and it will kill you. Destroy the entire thing? Congratulations, you've blown yourself up. Sure, if you leave before it blows up, everything's good, but then, you wouldn't need to destroy it in the first place."
"Can you get rid of certain parts of the World Wall? Yeah, if you know how it works, you can probably disrupt the part that stops you from leaving without blowing everything up, but who even knows how World Walls work in detail? If we knew how it worked, some Demigod would have already looked into Ayuvar."
Sebastian shook his head. "Also, know what I've just realized? All of these things are irrelevant anyway. How would the Overseer gain access to Death? A member of the Cult might ascend from a Secondary World to Ayuvar with some Death, but that doesn't mean that the Overseer can use it. Death isn't like a weapon you can hand someone. It's more like a huge and powerful monster. The monster might allow its owner to touch it, but that doesn't mean it will allow a stranger to touch it, even if the owner agrees."
"Yeah, well," Sebastian added with a dry chuckle. "There's a way we can give them access to Death, but you don't want that."
"Why not?" Star Genesis asked with a raised brow.
Sebastian glanced at Kyle.
Kyle sighed and scratched the side of his head. "Well, the only feasible way to come into contact with Death is to witness... well... the death of an entire world. If all the life in a prospering world is eradicated so that only you remain, and if you look at the lifeless corpse of that world, you may learn how to create Death."
Star Genesis' eyes widened in shock.
"I would prefer the Overseer not knowing," Kyle added.
Star Genesis looked down, her brows furrowed. "Is there really no way?"
"Only if they hand over their life," Sebastian said. "They have to give up control, stay here forever, or die."
"Also, if we want to ascend ourselves, the Overseer either needs to die or needs to give up control," Kyle said.
"And I don't think they will hand their life to us."
