After some more talking, the team decided to get back to the task at hand.

"Sebastian," Kyle said, looking at him, "there are Elementals in this place. The Elementals are stable and don't run into the nearest Formation Array. Demons even turn into Elementals here. I don't think there's any reason to wait."

Sebastian took a deep breath. "As much as I hate to admit it, you're right. I still want to say no, but at this point, I wouldn't have a solid justification anymore. I guess this is it."

Kyle and Star Genesis nodded.

"Sorry for that," Kyle said, "but there's genuinely no other way. We have to know how the Elemental Dimension looks on this side of the Barrier Formation Array. I also don't want you to risk your life like this, but... yeah..."

"I know," Sebastian said as he closed his eyes. "Fine, I'll do it. Manny and Fierce Breaker are risking their lives right now, and we can't proceed without my Elemental. I'm not the sacrificial type, but I guess I still have to risk it."

Sebastian looked at his Elemental for a moment.

A couple of seconds passed.

"Here we go," Sebastian said as his Elemental became transparent.

Then, a moment later, the Elemental vanished.

Kyle and Star Genesis looked at Sebastian with anxiety. They didn't know what the Elemental Dimension looked like on this side. What if Sebastian's Elemental was consumed by a stronger Elemental? What if there were other Formation Arrays?

"Looks pretty normal, albeit crowded," Sebastian said. "I can see a bunch of weaker Elementals around me. As always, they're constantly killing and consuming each other, but there are also some dominant Elementals around. Luckily, none of them can compare to mine."

"I don't see any Formation Arrays, but I can feel their effects. Something is pulling my Elemental to the west, but the pull isn't hard to resist. It's more like a mental suggestion. This might influence a normal Elemental, but since I'm the one in control, it's not an issue."

"So, yeah, that's about it," Sebastian said with a sigh of relief. "Seems like I'm still alive."

The other two also sighed in relief. "So, we can proceed with the next phase of the plan?" Star Genesis asked.

Sebastian took a deep breath. "Sure, more risk for me, but sure. You can keep traveling towards the east since this will take a while."

"Sure," Kyle said. "Thank you. I know it was risky, but thank you."

"It's fine," Sebastian said with a dismissive wave. "I also want to grow stronger, and I can't do that without entering the Elemental Dimension. Anyway, as planned, I'm going to send my Elemental to the World Walls to see if the Barrier Formation Array surrounds this part of the Elemental Dimension or if it's just a wall. I'll also keep a lookout for more Formation Arrays."

"Keep us posted," Star Genesis said.

"Sure."

A moment later, Kyle resumed his journey to the east. While Sebastian looked around the Elemental Dimension, Kyle was supposed to find a good place with plenty of Energy and food.

Sebastian kept talking about the Elemental Dimension during their journey. Apparently, the distribution of Elementals was unusual. Usually, the most powerful Elementals gathered in the middle of a world since the Energy was at its densest there. Occasionally, there were also some powerful Elementals near the edges, but these were exceptions.

Here, the overall strength of the Elementals increased the further outward one traveled. Since Sebastian's Elemental wasn't restricted by the Demon Car's speed, it could cover much more ground and see much more.

After just a couple of years, Sebastian's Elemental had already explored a big chunk of the Abyss' Elemental Dimension, which allowed Sebastian to somewhat predict what the Main Dimension looked like.

In Sebastian's words, the underground was fucking weird. Usually, the deeper one went, the more Metal, Earth, and Fire Elementals one would find. At the same time, they would also grow stronger. After all, the Elemental Dimension influenced the Main Dimension, and the Main Dimension influenced the Elemental Dimension. There was a bunch of metal and earth below them, which were great conditions for Metal and Earth Elementals, which increased the density of Metal and Earth Energy.

Yet, that was not the case at all in the Abyss. The distribution of different Elementals was the same. The deep underground had just as many Wind and Water Elementals as it had Earth and Metal Elementals. Since the Dimensions influenced each other, this also meant that the underground reflected this distribution of Elementals.

There were bound to be water currents, storms, and lightning bolts in the underground, and they most likely weren't rare occurrences.

"Are there still roots?" Sebastian asked Kyle.

"Probably," Kyle said. "Let me check."

The team had tried to dig into the ground before, but they had quickly found a network of roots that didn't allow the Demon Car to pass.

As Kyle dug down, he saw the roots again. The network was just as dense as before, and once again, after getting close to them, the Demon Car received a very simple concept transmission.

Warning.

The root network warned the Demon Car that it would attack if it approached.

"Still roots," Kyle answered.

"There has to be something down there," Sebastian said. "As far as I can see, most of the powerful Elementals are deep underground. There are also a bunch of powerful Elementals to the east, but the ones below us are much more numerous and stronger."

"Why is it even like that?" Star Genesis asked. "Why is the distribution like this? Does this distribution fulfill some kind of purpose?"

"I doubt it's artificial," Sebastian said. "I also doubt that the distribution is weird due to the density. The Elemental Dimension is like a lake. You can drop a stone into it, and you might disturb its surface, but eventually, the waves vanish, and the lake returns to its calm self. Even if you throw a bunch of stones in, the lake still retains its shape."

"This has to be a natural distribution, and since this is a natural distribution, there can only be one explanation."

"The ground doesn't have as much ground as we are used to," Sebastian said.

"Wait," Kyle said, "are you telling me that the ground has holes?"

"In a way, yeah," Sebastian answered. "If the distribution of Elementals underground looks like the distribution of Elementals on the surface, the underground most likely looks like the surface."

"You mean there are little worlds underground?" Star Genesis asked with raised brows.

"Probably," Sebastian answered. "That would also explain why there are so many Demons. I mean, the Demon deaths far outweigh the human deaths, and compared to humans, Demons need to kill even more Demons to grow stronger. Both sides of Ayuvar have an area of similar size, but the Demons seemingly outnumber us to a ridiculous degree."

"How is that possible? Think about it. If we both have the same area, this shouldn't be possible, unless..."

"Skyscrapers," Kyle suddenly said in realization, "but underground. Humanity lives in single-family homes, while the Demons live in skyscrapers. We're only living on the surface, but the Demons live in layers. They have several surfaces, while we only have one."

"Why didn't I think of that before?"
