Chapter 1236: Chapter 1235: Laying Traps
After Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng walked into the company before them, Jiang Cheng saw that the interior decoration of the company was high-end and elegant. People were coming and going in the company, and everyone seemed to be in a hurry, as if there was some trouble.
Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng walked to the receptionist’s desk, and the receptionist asked, "May I ask who you are looking for, sir?" The receptionist’s face was beaded with sweat, appearing very anxious.
"I’m here to see Zhang Tian," Jiang Cheng said.
"Are you Mr. Jiang?" the receptionist asked.
"I am." Jiang Cheng replied.
"Please go to the 26th floor. President Zhang is waiting for you in his office." The receptionist responded.
Jiang Cheng didn’t expect Zhang Tian to be so young yet already the president of the company. Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng took the elevator to the 26th floor. Jiang Cheng noticed that this floor was not as frantic as the lower levels. The employees were moving about in an orderly manner.
Jiang Cheng walked forward and saw Zhang Tian’s office, then knocked on the door with Qi Rongfeng and went in.
Today, Zhang Tian was wearing a black suit, looking elegant and handsome, with his hair neatly combed.
Upon seeing Jiang Cheng, Zhang Tian smiled at Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng, "I’m sorry to have you come over."
Although he said he was sorry, Jiang Cheng couldn’t see any sign of embarrassment from Zhang Tian.
"Why call us over for a computer issue?" Qi Rongfeng asked.
"It’s not an ordinary breakdown; it should be a virus attack," Zhang Tian said.
"It’s not just Jiang who knows how to handle virus issues. In a big place like Li Country, there must be others," Qi Rongfeng said.
"This virus is serious; very few people can handle it, and it involves some company secrets. I’m not comfortable with others handling it," Zhang Tian said seriously, looking at Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng had never seen Zhang Tian so serious before; this suggested that the matter was truly grave.
"Alright, let me take a look," Jiang Cheng felt that Zhang Tian trusting him was no small matter.
"Why would someone like you trust us?" Qi Rongfeng wondered why Zhang Tian, being so skeptical, suddenly trusted Jiang. If something went wrong, it would be disastrous.
"Let’s have a look," Jiang Cheng felt that Zhang Tian was unlikely to play tricks by now. Even if there were problems, he might not be the one to suffer.
Qi Rongfeng had Jiang Cheng look at his office computer. Jiang Cheng saw the computer on the desk was in a black screen state. Zhang Tian and Qi Rongfeng stood by as Jiang Cheng swiftly operated the keyboard. The screen soon came to life.
"It’s a virus," Jiang Cheng said. As Jiang Cheng accessed the virus, he realized it was exactly the same as the one from Kai Ao Country last time.
This time it only took Jiang Cheng five minutes to unseal the virus. Soon after, the phone on Zhang Tian’s desk started ringing continuously. After Zhang Tian picked up,
Jiang Cheng heard it was someone from the board on the call with Zhang Tian, who respectfully assured that the virus had been fully resolved.
"Is this virus the same as the Canglan Virus from last time?" Zhang Tian asked Jiang Cheng after hanging up.
"Yes," Jiang Cheng anticipated Zhang Tian’s guess.
"Moreover, this time it’s specifically targeting our company," Zhang Tian said.
"Did your company offend any enemies recently?" Qi Rongfeng asked.
"Being in our software industry, it’s inevitable to have enemies, but Fan Country is large, I can’t be sure," Zhang Tian said.
"What kind of software do you develop?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Mobile and computer chips," Zhang Tian replied. "Our company is the largest computer chip supplier nationwide; the chips used in cell phones and computers by the general public mostly come from us. However, this time, our company is sponsoring the election," Zhang Tian said.
"Sponsoring the election? Are you saying someone is deliberately trying to trip you up?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Yes. And it’s highly likely the person who spread the virus in Kai Ao Country last time," Zhang Tian said slowly.
"Disrupting an election is no small accusation," Qi Rongfeng noted.
Jiang Cheng suddenly thought of Wu Shan. Although he was reluctant to believe it, if Wu Shan was behind this again, what would he do?
"I’m not concerned about who did it. Since I helped you, I have a request for your help too," Jiang Cheng said.
"Sure, feel free to ask," Zhang Tian readily responded.
"I recently need a vulcanizing hydraulic press. Can you get it for me?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"A vulcanizing hydraulic press? Isn’t that something only factories need? What do you need it for?" Zhang Tian asked.
"It’s useful, and I won’t do anything against nature," Jiang Cheng said.
"Though it’s not hard to obtain, each one requires reporting for sales, so formal channels might not work. How about this, I’ll take you to a place," Zhang Tian said as he put on his coat.
Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng followed Zhang Tian out of the office. Upon stepping into the elevator, they saw several female employees greeting Zhang Tian. After Zhang Tian entered the elevator, Qi Rongfeng noticed the female staff discussing Zhang Tian, mainly admiring his handsomeness and young achievements.
Qi Rongfeng observed Zhang Tian was indeed tall and handsome in front, and it was no surprise the females found him attractive.
Zhang Tian led Qi Rongfeng and Jiang Cheng to his car. Jiang Cheng noticed Zhang Tian’s car was black, not the flashy sports car of Zhao Shuai, just a business car commonly driven by successful people. The inside felt comfortable and spacious, similar to high-end cars on Earth.
Without specifying the destination, Zhang Tian drove Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng to a place that looked like the city-rural junction according to the navigation.
After a while, Zhang Tian parked the car in front of a small shop, "Let’s get out," Zhang Tian said to Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng got out of the car, still puzzled.
Zhang Tian casually parked the car by the roadside and led Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng into the small shop.
As soon as Jiang Cheng entered the shop, he felt it was unlike the usual small shops at the city-rural junction. Its decoration was comparable to a large supermarket, and behind the counter stood a young man with green-dyed hair, looking fair and clean, idly playing with his phone.
Zhang Tian walked in and said, "I want to go inside."
The young man looked up at Zhang Tian, glanced at Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng behind him, and said nothing, "Just pay. My mom isn’t here," the young man said nonchalantly.
Zhang Tian took out a few bills from his hand and handed them to the young man.
The young man put the money away and led them to the front of a freezer. The young man pushed the fridge aside, revealing a passageway behind.
"I didn’t expect this place to be here." Jiang Cheng thought as he followed Zhang Tian inside.
Jiang Cheng saw colorful lights hanging around, and dim lamps on the ceiling, making the ambiance feel like that of a bar, with nothing particularly different.
