Chapter 1244: Chapter 1243: All-Encompassing

Jiang Cheng walked ahead and saw a simply yet elegantly decorated guest room, along with a simple kitchen. It looked very clean, without a trace of smoke, indicating no one cooked there. As he walked further, Jiang Cheng saw four rooms. He opened them and found each empty, with beds and basic amenities, likely prepared by Zhang Tian.

It seemed like Zhang Tian already knew he would be staying here, Jiang Cheng thought.

"Let’s all rest. Tomorrow we’ll go to the court to resolve this matter," Jiang Cheng said.

Lying on the bed, Jiang Cheng felt the day’s events were overwhelming, with many things beyond his expectations, making him truly tired. Soon after, he was sound asleep.

The next day, when Jiang Cheng opened his eyes, he saw it was only seven o’clock, but he still got up, planning to buy some breakfast before leaving.

As Jiang Cheng opened the door, he was somewhat surprised. He saw Zhang Tian cooking breakfast in the kitchen, sunlight streaming through the window onto Zhang Tian, who was wearing an apron. The sunlight outlined his handsome side profile, and a pair of gold-framed glasses sat on his high nose bridge, giving him a gentle appearance at that moment.

"Since you’re up, come and eat," Zhang Tian said while flipping a fried egg.

Watching Zhang Tian’s skilled movements, Jiang Cheng felt it seemed like he did this often. "I thought you didn’t cook at home."

"I don’t cook often," Zhang Tian replied.

Jiang Cheng saw that there were already two servings of breakfast on the table, including milk, toast, and bacon with fried eggs.

Only two servings?

"You think I have time to make breakfast for so many people?" Zhang Tian said, lifting his eyes to look at Jiang Cheng.

"Uh, okay." Jiang Cheng sat down and tasted the fried egg, "It’s delicious. Thanks," Jiang Cheng said.

Zhang Tian, hearing this, didn’t say anything and sat opposite, eating breakfast slowly.

"Do you know any lawyers?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"Yeah," Zhang Tian replied casually.

"Introduce me, then."

"But are you really planning to prove your innocence through legal means?"

Jiang Cheng lowered his eyes, "Otherwise? It’s better to be cautious when new here."

Zhang Tian looked at Jiang Cheng but didn’t say anything further, silently eating his toast.

"I will give you a contact later; you can contact that lawyer," Zhang Tian said, wiping his mouth with a napkin before getting up to leave.

"Alright, thanks," Jiang Cheng said.

A while later, Zhang Tian came out, dressed neatly, and as he walked past Jiang Cheng, "Also, we might be disturbing you here for a while," Jiang Cheng said to Zhang Tian.

Zhang Tian stopped and nodded, saying nothing as he left.

Jiang Cheng looked at his phone, seeing Zhang Tian had just sent over the lawyer’s contact information. As he held the warm milk, he recalled many days ago, in the Qi family’s tunnel, when he handed Jiang Cheng some food—perhaps this was Zhang Tian’s way of showing gratitude.

"Brother Jiang, you got up early," Cloud said, yawning as she came out of her room, looking at Jiang Cheng and the empty plates on the table, puzzled.

Jiang Cheng didn’t explain much, "Wake them up; I’ll go buy some breakfast," Jiang Cheng said and went out.

Meanwhile, Zhang Tian was driving to the company and received a call from his assistant. After hanging up, Zhang Tian opened his phone and checked the news, finding photos of himself and Jiang Cheng together—him sending Jiang Cheng to the market and Jiang Cheng getting blocked at his home’s gate in a video. The reports said he colluded with Jiang Cheng, insulting the Nola Sect, and other overwhelming claims.

"Suppress these news!" Zhang Tian called his assistant and ordered.

When Jiang Cheng returned from buying breakfast to Zhang Tian’s house, he saw Qi Rongfeng and Zhao Shuai were also up.

"Brother Jiang, why aren’t you eating?" Zhao Shuai asked while eating the breakfast Jiang Cheng bought.

"I already ate," Jiang Cheng said.

"Huh? With whom? Zhang Tian?" Zhao Shuai asked curiously.

"Yes," Jiang Cheng replied, taking out his phone to call that lawyer. When he called, the female lawyer wasn’t surprised, as if prepared and readily agreed, scheduling to meet in front of the courthouse.

Once Jiang Cheng and the others tidied up, they arrived at the courthouse, where Jiang Cheng spotted a tall figure looking this way, concluding it must be the lawyer.

As he approached, Jiang Cheng was utterly shocked. Before him was someone he knew, the former host of the underground marketplace, Xiaoyu.

Today, Xiaoyu wore formal attire, looking a bit more serious, but judging by her face, one might think she was a youthful college student like Yuan Liang.

"Aren’t you the host?" Qi Rongfeng also questioned in surprise.

Xiaoyu motioned for Qi Rongfeng to silence, "I’m still a lawyer," Xiaoyu said with a playful wink.

"Huh? Are you capable? You’re so young, still in college?" Zhao Shuai asked.

"Don’t underestimate me. Besides, I’ve already graduated," Xiaoyu said, pouting in dissatisfaction over Zhao Shuai’s disbelief.

"How should we address you then?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"Zeng Yu," Xiaoyu laughed, "Just call me Xiaoyu."

"Then we’ll rely on you, Xiaoyu," Jiang Cheng said.

"No worries, aren’t you Zhang Tian’s friends? Also, this brother helped me that day; I should thank you," Xiaoyu said. "I don’t even know your names yet."

"I’m Jiang Cheng, the one who helped you was him, Qi Rongfeng, and he’s Zhao Shuai, she’s Cloud," Jiang Cheng introduced the group to Xiaoyu.

"Wow, so you’re Cloud," Xiaoyu said as she approached Cloud, inspecting her and her dress, "Your dress is lovely. Where did you get it?"

Cloud, unable to say the dress was from Kai Ao Country, felt delighted to finally meet a similarly aged, adorable girl, chatting energetically as she had spent days with these men who didn’t understand such details.

The remaining guys exchanged glances—girls forge friendships in ways hard to comprehend.

Once everyone was inside the courthouse, they found that the official and plaintiff side hadn’t arrived yet.

"Would you like to get familiar with our case?" Jiang Cheng asked Xiaoyu, who took the documents Jiang Cheng prepared, reading them over. After a while.

"I almost got it; have you found evidence?" Xiaoyu asked.

"We’ve found a witness; I just notified him," Jiang Cheng replied, having called Jin Zihan, who agreed to come over later.

"Then there’s no issue," Xiaoyu said.

Jiang Cheng saw Xiaoyu’s relaxed demeanor, sensing that their side had a substantial advantage, yet he couldn’t shake off his inner anxiety.

Soon, Jiang Cheng saw several Wula Sect disciples arrive, bringing an unfamiliar man along who seemed like a lawyer.

"Meeting again, Mr. Jiang, you really came," one guy said with a mischievous grin.

The other three laughed as well.

"Who knows who will win," Zhao Shuai said angrily at their arrogance.
