Chapter 1268 - 1267: VIP

Chapter 1268: Chapter 1267: VIP

"Let’s take him to the hospital first," Jiang Cheng said, hailing a cab to send Zhang Tian there.

The three of them took Zhang Tian to the hospital. It wasn’t until Jiang Cheng stood outside the clinic that it all seemed real to him, and finally, they were back. Although Zhang Tian was injured, yes, he really should thank him this time. Still, Jiang Zai didn’t plan to let go of the troublemakers this time!

Jiang Cheng and the others quickly took Zhang Tian to the nearest hospital. Seeing Zhang Tian showing no signs of waking, Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but worry.

They could only wait for the doctor to come out. "Jiang, do you think Zhang Tian might have had some disease before? I feel like he’s always been a bit off," Zhao Shuai said.

"Maybe, but let’s hope he’s okay," Jiang Cheng said, looking at the tightly closed emergency room door.

No one spoke, waiting quietly outside. After about half an hour, the doctor came out, and Jiang Cheng quickly approached him. "Doctor, how is he?"

"There’s no major disease, just severe anemia. The patient should rest more normally, but it seems he’s overworked, which has severely depleted his energy and blood," the doctor explained.

Jiang Cheng let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, it wasn’t something particularly serious, but it looks like Zhang Tian doesn’t usually rest well.

"Who’s the patient’s family? Please come sign," the doctor said.

"I’ll sign," Jiang Cheng said, approaching the doctor to sign. "Jiang, let’s go see him," Zhao Shuai suggested.

"Okay," Jiang Cheng agreed, and they headed to Zhang Tian’s hospital room. Jiang Cheng looked at Zhang Tian lying on the bed, appearing even more frail and pale, he felt a bit reluctant. "Jiang, where are his relatives? Should we inform them?" Qi Rongfeng asked.

"I don’t know his family’s contact information," Jiang Cheng replied. He wasn’t sure who was left around Zhang Tian; he lived alone. Jiang Cheng knew his mother passed away, but as for his father, Jiang Cheng didn’t know.

"Cloud just called me, she said she’s coming too, with Xiaoyu!" Zhao Shuai said.

"Let them come, she must be worried sick," Jiang Cheng replied.

"Yeah, that girl was crying. I’ve never seen her cry since childhood. The tone of her voice on the phone was really anxious," Zhao Shuai said, looking somewhat excited.

"By the way, Jiang, who do you think did this?" Qi Rongfeng asked.

"We know of two people involved so far, but I feel like there’s more to it," Jiang Cheng said, considering that such a big trap couldn’t have been set by just anyone. "But no matter what, the real culprit won’t get away with it."

"Wow, Jiang, you’re going all out, huh? It’s the first time I’ve seen you so angry. You were really cool back there, Jiang," Zhao Shuai said with admiring eyes.

Jiang Cheng and Qi Rongfeng both shook their heads speechlessly. Zhao Shuai always had a way of making emotions disappear in an instant.

"Jiang!" Cloud’s voice reached them even before she appeared. Jiang Cheng turned around abruptly, and there she was, rushing to his side. "Jiang, are you all right?"

Seeing Cloud with a look of worry, almost about to burst into tears, Jiang Cheng reassured her, "I’m okay, really." He patted her head gently, "I’m completely fine, but Zhang Tian has a bit of an issue."

"Oh, as long as you’re okay!" Cloud wiped her eyes, then looked at Zhang Tian on the bed, "What’s wrong with him?"

"Looks like he fainted due to severe anemia," Xiaoyu suddenly said.

Jiang Cheng noticed Xiaoyu standing behind Cloud, he hadn’t noticed her earlier. Xiaoyu probably came straight from work, dressed in formal attire.

"Does this happen often?" Qi Rongfeng asked.

"Yeah, even though we tell him to take medicine, he doesn’t. Sometimes he just suddenly faints; it’s happened three or four times," Xiaoyu said with a bit of exasperation, but her concern was evident in her eyes.

"If he doesn’t take his medicine, no wonder he faints," Zhao Shuai muttered.

"Are you okay? Cloud was really worried today," Xiaoyu suddenly remembered and asked.

"We’re fine, he just fainted," Qi Rongfeng said, pointing at Zhang Tian.

"That’s good," Xiaoyu smiled.

Just then, Jiang Cheng noticed Zhang Tian’s eyelashes flutter. Was he waking up? Jiang Cheng wondered.

Sure enough, the next second, Zhang Tian opened his eyes. He closed them soon after, but after adjusting for a moment, he opened them again, looking at the crowd with surprise, then stared blankly at Jiang Cheng and the others.

"You’re awake? How do you feel?" Jiang Cheng asked.

After a long pause, Zhang Tian finally spoke, "Is this a VIP room? It must be expensive."

The room went silent for a moment. Then Zhao Shuai started laughing, followed by Cloud and Xiaoyu, and even Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but smile. He hadn’t expected Zhang Tian’s first words upon waking to be that.

"Zhang Tian, you’re pretty rich, aren’t you going to stay somewhere nicer? What are you saving money for?" Xiaoyu laughed.

"I see now, he’s fully recovered enough to make jokes," Zhao Shuai commented.

"Why are there so many of you here? What are you all doing?" Zhang Tian asked after a moment.

Jiang Cheng realized Zhang Tian had a knack for making cold jokes, the kind that was unexpectedly hard-hitting and relentless.

"How does your body feel?" Jiang Cheng seriously asked.

"Pretty good, no need to stay in the hospital. I can leave soon," Zhang Tian said.

"What? Don’t rush, your anemia is quite severe, and you don’t usually take your medicine. You have to stay this time," Qi Rongfeng remarked, seeing Zhang Tian actually wanting to leave.

"Yeah, don’t push your body too hard. Just stay put, it’s not a big deal," Zhao Shuai chimed in.

"Old problem, no need to make a fuss," Zhang Tian said lightly, in his usual tone.

"All right, you’re definitely staying here today, and I’ll keep an eye on you," Jiang Cheng said firmly.

Chang Tian seemed at a loss for words, looking at Jiang Cheng, not quite processing it.

"It works when Jiang speaks," Zhao Shuai laughed.

Everyone laughed, and Zhang Tian turned away with a helpless expression.

"I’m going to head out, I have work to do!" Xiaoyu announced to Jiang Cheng and the others.

"Go ahead, Xiaoyu, there’s nothing much going on," Cloud replied.

After saying so, Xiaoyu headed out. "You should all go get some rest," Jiang Cheng said to Zhao Shuai and the others. "I can handle it by myself; today was very tiring, especially for Rongfeng. Go back and rest."

"You’re tired too, Jiang, I’ll stay," Qi Rongfeng insisted.

"I’ll stay. I haven’t done much anyway," Zhao Shuai said.

"Huh? What are you two arguing about? I haven’t done much either, so I’ll stay. You all go back," Cloud said.

Just then, Zhang Tian suddenly sat up. Jiang Cheng and the others were stunned, looking at Zhang Tian, unsure of what to say.

"Do you all think I’m passed out? I don’t need company, just go back," Zhang Tian said.

"Use this time to properly investigate who did this," Zhang Tian continued.
