Chapter 1280: Chapter 1279: Vice Master Venerable
The boy nodded. "I’m really dumb. I didn’t pass the last assessment at all, but in order to stay here, I agreed to do what Captain Li asked, I, ..." The boy wore an expression of guilt.
It’s not your fault, just take us to his room. What he asked you to do is illegal too." Qi Rongfeng said warmly.
The boy glanced at Jiang Cheng and the others, who wore a look of goodwill, and nodded, "Follow me."
Jiang Cheng felt a bit embarrassed; this was probably the second time he’d deceived the young boy. He wasn’t sure why, but there was always this feeling of committing a crime. He clearly knew where Li Bin lived, but still acted oblivious and pretended to need the boy to lead him there. After walking just a few steps, they reached the place. "Here we are. Do I need to go in?"
No need. Don’t worry, he won’t have the chance to threaten you again in the future.
Cloud spoke. The boy looked at Cloud with a grateful expression, "Thank you." Cloud felt a radiating maternal glow. As the boy walked away, Jiang Cheng knocked on Li Bin’s door. Li Bin opened it, and upon seeing Jiang Cheng, his expression immediately turned sinister.
Li Bin was dressed formally, his uniform fitting him snugly, as if he had just returned from handling some serious affairs. "Sending yourself right to me?"
Jiang Cheng said nothing, merely looking at Li Bin.
Li Bin felt a chill under Jiang Cheng’s gaze, "I’ve already reported you to the Vice Master Venerable; ordinarily, you’d be arrested soon, but you came here yourself?"
It was Jiang Cheng’s first time hearing the title Vice Master Venerable. "Yes, I’m here to confess."
After Jiang Cheng’s words, Li Bin was stunned, wondering what situation had developed. He looked at Jiang Cheng like he might be up to some scheme again.
Confess that you hacked my computer?" Li Bin asked uncertainly.
Ha, this person is really amusing, always pestering Jiang, insisting Jiang hacked his computer, yet here he is again." Zhao Shuai looked at Li Bin disdainfully.
You think I chickened out? I just find it hard to believe you’d admit so easily." Li Bin said defiantly.
Let’s go, stop the nonsense." Jiang Cheng said a bit impatiently.
Li Bin looked at Jiang Cheng, unsure of his intentions, "Going now?"
Jiang Cheng didn’t speak, just lifted his eyelids and looked at Li Bin calmly, "Let’s go see the Master Venerable directly," Jiang Cheng said.
"Ha, do you think you can just meet with the Master Venerable whenever you want?" Li Bin glanced at Jiang Cheng.
"Implying you can’t meet either? Then stop the nonsense and find someone in charge." Qi Rongfeng said.
"Actually, the matter isn’t entirely non-negotiable. I just don’t like being coercive." Li Bin said, pausing as if waiting for Jiang Cheng to ask him.
After a while, seeing Jiang Cheng remain indifferent, as if he didn’t care at all.
You can simply repair my computer, restore everything to its original state, and apologize to me, and I won’t hold it against you." Li Bin said with a magnanimous attitude.
Jiang Cheng held back a laugh. Did Li Bin think he was a fool? Should he humbly repair the computer, apologize, and then wait for Li Bin to retaliate once more?
No need, we’ll just admit our mistakes directly. Didn’t you just mention the Vice Master Venerable? Let’s go find him." Cloud said coldly.
Li Bin looked at Jiang Cheng and the others, "You really don’t know what’s good for you, opting for punishment rather than persuasion?" Li Bin said.
I can’t fix it. If you want, let’s go; if not, I can leave directly." Jiang Cheng said.
Li Bin found himself in a tough spot. The Vice Master Venerable had no interest in dealing with his mess. Having his computer hacked was minor, but if the Wula Sect’s documents were leaked, he’d lose even if he threw his life into covering it up.
So it’s best to find someone to resolve this matter. He’s sought many people but found no solutions yet.
You don’t need to apologize, just restore it, and I won’t pursue it. How’s that?" Li Bin asked between gritted teeth.
Jiang Cheng saw that Li Bin’s previously arrogant and sour demeanor had now completely turned fearful. He still said nothing, not wanting to waste time with Li Bin. He was looking for someone else,
Do you insist on seeing the Master Venerable? The Master Venerable is in closed-door cultivation!" Li Bin said, somewhat ashamed and angry.
Anyone who’s in charge will do, we’re just here to confess." Zhao Shuai almost grasped Jiang Cheng’s intentions and said nonchalantly.
Zhao Shuai’s attitude genuinely infuriated Li Bin. He looked at Jiang Cheng and Zhao Shuai with eyes almost aflame. Jiang Cheng somewhat admired Zhao Shuai in this regard; he truly had a talent for making others angry.
Alright then, since you all want to suffer, I’ll take you there. Haha." Li Bin laughed grimly.
Jiang Cheng directly ignored his behavior, simply nodded. Li Bin angrily locked the door and stormed ahead.
After walking a few steps, Li Bin spotted the boy from earlier; Jiang Cheng also saw him from afar. However, the boy quickly lowered his head in fear.
Despite this, Li Bin recognized him and walked up to the boy. "You should leave too. Know how to be a good witness?" Li Bin smiled maliciously, ready to pat the boy’s shoulder.
The boy shrank his neck in fear, but the anticipated hand didn’t land on him. He opened his wide eyes to see a pair of slender, fair hands holding Li Bin’s.
Jiang Cheng grabbed Li Bin’s sleeve, pulling his hand down. He took out a tissue from his pocket and wiped his hand, as if touching something greasy.
The series of actions made Li Bin irate, raising his hand to hit Jiang Cheng, but Jiang Cheng easily intercepted it. "I’ve confessed; there’s no need for witnesses." Jiang Cheng said slowly.
"If you keep dawdling like this, I can’t promise I won’t grow impatient and leave." Jiang Cheng gave Li Bin a grave look.
Li Bin slowly withdrew his hand, unwilling but speechless, glaring at the boy, then walked onward.
Jiang Cheng looked at the unfamiliar path ahead, curious. Previously, Jiang Cheng had gone to where the Master Venerable lived, roughly in the opposite direction. How could this Vice Master Venerable be on the other side? Jiang Cheng pondered but said nothing.
After ten minutes, they arrived at the place. Jiang Cheng looked at the house before him, which, compared to the cave-like dwelling of the Master Venerable he’d seen before, was a small, elegant villa. It looked much more normal and appeared quite exquisite. It resembled a wealthy person’s simple abode.
Jiang Cheng noticed that Li Bin seemed to have called for instructions earlier. But upon reaching the door, Li Bin hesitated again when about to knock. Jiang suspected his assumption was likely correct. His backer probably didn’t want to acknowledge the previous matter, but that’s better. Jiang Cheng thought.
Li Bin looked back at Jiang Cheng and the others and reluctantly moved to the door, knocking gently. Zhao Shuai saw it and laughed, "I’ve never seen someone so cowardly. Jiang."
Jiang Cheng felt this reflected that the person inside was truly formidable. What could make Li Bin so apprehensive? Jiang Cheng wondered.
After a while, a young disciple of the Wula Sect came to open the door. Jiang Cheng looked at the young face full of innocence, constantly sizing up Jiang Cheng and the others. "The Vice Master Venerable says to let you in." Jiang Cheng and his group watched Li come inside.
After entering the house, Jiang Cheng began inspecting Zhou Tian. The interior decor was entirely different from the outside appearance. It could be described as a palace. Even Zhao sighed, "They truly know how to enjoy this house." Yes, the floor doesn’t have a flaw." They all remarked.
