Chapter 1301: Chapter 1300: Eerie
Jiang Cheng and the others didn’t refuse, so Wu Lei sent them to the airport. On the way, Xiao Bai phoned his mom. Jiang Cheng heard Xiao Bai’s mom crying on the other end of the line. But Xiao Bai really went too far this time. Going to such a dangerous place without telling his mom. However, Xiao Zi’s eyes seemed red. Jiang Cheng said nothing.
Such things, Xiao Bai still had some fear about.
"You guys must be careful. It’s really dangerous over there. Try not to act alone if anything happens," Wu Lei said, nagging a lot.
This was the first time Jiang Cheng felt the CEO of such a big company could be so long-winded.
But seeing how worried Wu Lei was, Jiang Cheng said nothing and just listened to him rambling on.
As it was almost time to board, Wu Lei was still murmuring on the side.
"We’re boarding, don’t worry. We’ll be fine, and we’ll talk when we get back," Jiang Cheng said.
"Go on, go on," Wu Lei said.
Jiang Cheng waved with a smile, "I’ll miss you, Lei." Xiao Bai said with a smile. "Let’s go," Qin Nan said.
Soon, Jiang Cheng and the others boarded the plane. Once on the plane, Jiang Zai discovered that the flight attendants weren’t robots. Jiang Cheng thought there would be robots here too. He checked the time; it seemed it would take five hours to get there.
"Zai, are you nervous?" Xiao Bai asked.
"Not nervous," Jiang Cheng replied.
"Really? I’m so nervous," Xiao Bai said, swallowing.
"Didn’t you go before? Why nervous? Afraid of the beasts there?" Jiang Zai asked.
"Of course not. I just feel that kind of fear from being completely unknown about the future. You’re so capable you might not understand,"
Xiao Bai said.
"Don’t be nervous. No matter what happens, I’ll protect you first," Jiang Zai said, patting Xiao Bai’s shoulder.
Just then, Jiang Cheng noticed Qiu Qingqing beside him tightly shut her eyes, looking very uncomfortable. Her lips were pursed tight.
"Qiu Qingqing, are you okay?" Jiang Cheng asked, she seemed like she had flight sickness.
"I’m fine," Qiu Qingqing said, her voice lacking its usual calm and somewhat fragile.
Jiang Cheng called the flight attendant and asked for a cup of hot water to hand to Qiu Qingqing. "Have some hot water."
Qiu Qingqing slowly opened her eyes, glanced at the water in Jiang Cheng’s hand, and reached out to take it. "Thank you," Qiu Qingqing said weakly.
At this moment Jiang Cheng looked at Qiu Qingqing, she seemed more like a normal girl, not as aloof nor cold normally. Now she completely exposed her weakness.
Gradually, the plane took off, and Qiu Qingqing slowly opened her eyes, regaining clarity.
Jiang Cheng just about turned to talk with Xiao Bai when he saw him already chatting away with Qin Nan.
Jiang Cheng had to lean back in his seat and close his eyes, resting.
In front, everything seen was icebergs, the mountains in the distance were covered thickly with snow, seemingly as cold as freezing the dripping water. Jiang Cheng exhaled and saw white fog before his eyes, a vast whiteness. His teeth chattered from the cold.
Jiang Cheng was still wondering why it was so cold here, it was supposed to be an urban area, with people bustling on the streets. The houses standing along the roads didn’t appear desolate but rather lively, weren’t these people cold? Jiang Cheng wondered.
Jiang Cheng glanced beside him, Xiao Bai, Qiu Qingqing, Qin Nan were all there, but they said nothing, the atmosphere seemed very eerie.
"Zai! We’re supposed to go here!" Xiao Bai held a map, pointing at a spot on it to show Jiang Cheng.
"What are we doing here?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Looking for White Flower Stone!" Xiao Bai replied.
Jiang Cheng was completely puzzled at this point, why did they suddenly need to find it? Qin Nan was ready to look for a car to get there. Wasn’t it supposed to be dangerous? Why did they get there so easily? Jiang Cheng felt it was really odd. But everyone beside him seemed to know what was happening.
Jiang Cheng had no choice but to get in the car, and before long they arrived at the place, the group got off. Everything went too smoothly, too oddly, making Jiang Cheng feel like he must be dreaming.
"Let’s just go directly," Xiao Bai said. Qin Nan and Qiu Qingqing nodded in agreement.
Then they walked for a dozen minutes, on the way, Jiang Cheng saw many people like himself quickly walking forward, seemingly on the same narrow road, it was seemingly like a market gathering, many people walking.
Soon a large building appeared up front, from the outside it looked like red bricks with black tiles and somewhat ancient style, not particularly special. But many people arrived here and suddenly turned around and left, without going in.
"Why did they leave?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"The house in front is pretty dangerous, so they went back," Xiao Bai said.
"Why is it dangerous?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"They said strange things might suck people in!" Xiao Bai spoke mysteriously.
"Yes, being sucked in means not coming back," Qin Nan said, "Don’t go inside at all."
Jiang Cheng found this dream increasingly amusing, as if there was no logic to follow.
Jiang Cheng saw ahead still many people going inside. Following Xiao Bai and the others inside, strange things happened. Those who just went in suddenly disappeared. Now the room was empty.
Xiao Bai and Qin Nan entered ahead, just inside, "Zai! Hey!" Xiao Bai tried to say something but suddenly vanished, the speaking voice abruptly ceased.
Jiang Cheng felt a sudden pang in his heart, but beside him, Qiu Qingqing had already entered. Jiang Cheng couldn’t catch up to stop her.
So he had to follow her inside. "Qiu Qingqing?" Jiang Cheng called as he followed her inside, but Qiu Qingqing seemed not to hear and kept walking.
"Qiu Qingqing!" Jiang Cheng shouted. Still no response. Jiang Cheng got anxious, "Qiu Qingqing!" He ran over to grab her but before he could, Qiu Qingqing suddenly disappeared. Jiang Cheng got quite a scare but quickly calmed down, looking around, it was vast, the huge house contained nothing. Just a television sitting there. It was really eerie, Jiang Cheng thought, slowly walking to the front, towards the TV, it was off, but Jiang Cheng felt those disappeared had something to do with it. He thought to turn on the TV, just as he placed his hand on it, suddenly everything went black.
Jiang Cheng suddenly opened his eyes, finding the sudden brightness a bit uncomfortable, but slowly he came to. It was indeed a dream, but it seemed so real, real enough that Jiang Cheng still had that uncomfortable dizzy feeling now.
"Zai! Zai?" Xiao Bai kept shaking Jiang Cheng, "Fine, fine," Jiang Cheng said. He feared if he didn’t speak he’d be shaken silly.
Jiang Cheng slowly sat up straight, finding Qiu Qingshe and Xiao Bai beside him looking at him with strange eyes. "What’s the matter?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Did you dream just now?" Xiao Bai asked.
"Yes," Jiang Cheng replied.
"What dream? What dream?" Xiao Bai asked excitedly.
"Nothing much, not a very good dream," said Jiang Cheng, rubbing his forehead, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
