Chapter 1306: Chapter 1305: White Flower Stone
"Qiu Qingqing exclaimed as soon as she got up, "And it’s very warm in here." Qiu Qingqing said.
Jiang Cheng looked at Qiu Qingqing’s happy expression, thinking she was now talking more than ever before, perhaps because although she had a chip earlier, it was genuinely cold. Now in the warm environment, Qiu Qingqing’s whole face was blushing.
Jiang Cheng felt that Qiu Qingqing seemed less aloof than usual, and instead appeared quite adorable.
"Are you seated? We’re heading downwards!" Jiang Cheng asked, signaling Qiu Qingqing to fasten her seatbelt. After all, descending to such depths would have a significant impact, so proper safety measures were necessary.
"Yes, I’m seated. Let’s go." Qiu Qingqing said.
Jiang Cheng slowly started the machine. It felt somewhat unfamiliar after not operating it for a long time. "Are you seated well? I haven’t driven this in a while, so I’m a bit rusty."
Qiu Qingqing nodded without saying a word, seeming somewhat excited. Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but chuckle. She was indeed unique; where other girls might be terrified, she was visibly thrilled.
As Jiang Cheng descended slowly, he suddenly felt weightless, realizing they were already airborne. While he wasn’t very sensitive to motion due to his own system,
he noticed that Qiu Qingqing’s complexion wasn’t good; she looked a bit pale, enduring something. "Are you okay? Feeling unwell?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"It’s nothing," Qiu Qingqing replied. However, Jiang Cheng thought she seemed nauseated, asking, "Do you usually get motion sickness?" He handed her a bottle. Qiu Qingqing nodded and took a pill from Jiang Cheng.
She soon felt much better.
"If you feel dizzy, just recline the seat and take a nap," Jiang Cheng suggested.
Qiu Qingqing didn’t refuse and simply reclined the seat, slowly closing her eyes.
Seeing this, Jiang Cheng operated more cautiously and steadily. He aimed to maintain balance.
Jiang Cheng moved smoothly for two minutes, noting they hadn’t reached the bottom yet and realizing it was quite deep. Checking the screen, he saw they needed another half-hour to descend.
Suddenly, Jiang Cheng felt an inexplicable resistance, halting further descent. Checking the report, he found they encountered an unknown airflow affecting the parachute.
Jiang Cheng slowed down further, cautiously continuing downward while pondering if he could find a gap.
Yet, attempts to descend were obstructed, and it seemed like the parachute was stuck. Struggling against the displayed airflow left Jiang Cheng anxious and unsure of the way forward. The slower he went, the more the airflow resisted, increasing their instability. He suspected this might be a fatal zone for many.
At this moment, Qiu Qingqing woke up, noticing Jiang Cheng’s sweat-soaked forehead as he struggled with the machine, herself feeling a bit unstable.
"What’s wrong? Is there a problem?" Qiu Qingqing asked.
"A strong airflow is pushing against us. Hold on and don’t let go of the handle," Jiang Cheng instructed.
"Okay." Qiu Qingqing replied, gripping the handle tightly.
Seeing that Qiu Qingqing was safe, Jiang Cheng relaxed a bit, gradually increasing the speed, realizing if he couldn’t resist slowly, he’d have to force through.
As they descended, the parachute and passengers swayed constantly, making Qiu Qingqing struggle to maintain balance.
However, Jiang Cheng sensed potential gaps as they moved downward, calming his mind. Knowing there were gaps meant they could proceed. He needed to focus, seize the moment, and navigate through it.
"Prepare to rush downward quickly in a moment," Jiang Cheng announced.
Qiu Qingqing nodded seriously, completely abandoning her usual nonchalance, gripping the handle tightly.
Seeing Qiu Qingqing ready, Jiang Cheng calmed himself, exhaled slowly, and at the right moment, accelerated swiftly through the gap.
Once through, Jiang Cheng felt significantly relieved. "It’s okay now."
"It’s stable!" Jiang Cheng declared.
Qiu Qingqing nodded and smiled.
The recent danger having been averted left both Jiang Cheng and Qiu Qingqing much more at ease. Qiu Qingqing gently closed her eyes, indicating the scare she just went through.
Jiang Cheng maneuvered cautiously, recalling how the recent burst through had unnerved him. His heart pounded, worried about not making it through the gap, risking both him and Qiu Qingqing.
Yet, seeing Qiu Qingqing’s relaxed smile, Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but smile back.
"You did well just now." Qiu Qingqing stated.
Jiang Cheng, embarrassed by Qiu Qingqing’s praise, replied, "No problem, it’s what I should do."
Qiu Qingqing didn’t say much more, but Jiang Cheng sensed she was less anxious than before. The journey continued smoothly, and Jiang Cheng landed after twenty minutes.
Upon landing, Jiang Cheng noticed the surrounding air turning warm, no longer as cold as before. "Let’s go down," Jiang Cheng suggested.
Qiu Qingqing quickly exited the parachute, surprised by the surroundings utterly different from the snowy world above. The scenery of lush mountains and clear waters astounded her.
"How beautiful it is here!" Qiu Qingqing couldn’t help but exclaim.
Jiang Cheng saw a river right where they landed, surrounded by grass and trees, with a backdrop of a gently rolling hill covered in vibrant flowers.
The fresh air, full of Nature’s pureness, invigorated Jiang Cheng, making him feel very comfortable.
"Yes, it’s truly unexpected," Jiang Cheng expressed, surprised by the stark contrast from his assumptions that the bottom would be more perilous, for which he had mentally prepared himself. Yet, the scenery made the path look manageable.
"Let’s walk ahead and see," Qiu Qingqing proposed.
Jiang Cheng strolled while observing the surroundings, reminiscent of a Peach Blossom Spring Fairyland, wondering if it wasn’t an Illusion Realm. "But isn’t it said that White Flower Stone doesn’t grow in cold places? Would there be any here?" Qiu Qingqing suddenly queried.
"All tales about White Flower Stone are just rumors; no one has truly seen where those who found White Flower Stone found it," Jiang Zai explained.
Qiu Qingqing thoughtfully nodded, "Makes sense."
Suddenly, gunfire sounded from the front. "Don’t move!" Beside Jiang Cheng, Qiu Qingqing hadn’t heard it yet.
"What is it?" Qiu Qingqing, startled by Jiang Cheng’s sudden serious tone, stopped in her tracks and asked.
