Supreme Bloodline Evolution System

Chapter 244: The Pact of the Five Heads

"Who is Henry?"

While the dragons reacted to his name with fear and hatred, the elves watched them with confused expressions, unable to understand why a single man had caused such terror to spread throughout the throne room.

"A man who once led the Ice Dragons," Marcus answered. "But he has since lost what remained of his sanity and turned himself into a taboo this world must never tolerate."

For the first time since the elves had entered Blackspire, Marcus showed no anger toward them. He explained the situation slowly, his hatred focused entirely upon Henry as Max watched the chaos within the chamber grow even worse.

Questions and frightened murmurs spread through the crowd. The elves had entered the meeting expecting to discuss two approaching empires, only to discover that another enemy had already been stalking the lands surrounding Blackspire.

"We will discuss this later, Rosalia," Max said as he rose from his throne.

Rosalia’s eyes followed his towering frame. His broad back stood before her like a shield, separating her from the frightened crowd and the terrible truth she had begun to remember.

"My love..." she whispered, wishing to reach out and seek the comfort only he could provide.

Yet she kept her hands against her body. She knew that this was not the moment to show weakness, no matter how much the thought of her father returning to that forbidden place terrified her.

"We gathered here to discuss matters that will determine the future of our kingdom," Max said, his cold voice carrying throughout the chamber. "It does not matter who roams our lands uninvited. Whether they are former leaders of the dragon tribes, kings or emperors, by stepping onto our soil with hostile intentions, they have chosen their own deaths."

The throne room fell silent.

Max slowly descended from the raised platform, his every step drawing the eyes of dragons and elves alike. The pressure of his presence seemed to grow heavier until those standing closest to him felt their knees weakening. One after another, they lowered themselves, as though remaining taller than their king was a sin even the gods would not tolerate.

"We will protect every part of these lands, no matter the price. Our enemies will never celebrate upon our soil, nor will they build monuments over the bodies of our people."

Max stopped before the gathering, his distant gaze passing over the dragons who had followed him through countless wars before moving toward the elves who had only recently been forced beneath his rule.

"I will not stand here and tell you that victory will come easily. I will not claim that I can charge into this battle alone and win it for all of us." His expression remained unchanged as the truth left his lips. "I am not the strongest being in this world. Not yet."

Several people raised their heads, surprised to hear their king openly admit such a thing. Max had once faced entire armies without hesitation, carrying himself as though nothing in this world could ever force him to retreat. Yet now, there was no shame in his admission and no fear within his voice, only the cold acceptance of reality.

"But no matter what it takes, I will protect Voidstar. If this kingdom requires my blood, I will spill it across these lands so that a new generation can be born upon them. If it requires my head, then I will offer it only after every other part of me has been torn apart in battle."

His words carried none of the warmth or excitement expected from an inspirational speech. Max did not roar, raise his fist or promise them an easy victory. His voice remained colder than the crystals beneath their feet, making every word feel less like encouragement and more like an oath that could never be broken.

"I will not fall without a fight, and I have no intention of dying now. I will live for this kingdom, for its people and for the future we are building. Whoever comes for us will not face scattered dragon families or the broken remains of Aelvarith."

Max’s eyes moved across the kneeling crowd.

"They will face us. Voidstarians."

The hatred between the dragons and elves did not disappear, but for the first time since entering the chamber, neither side looked toward the other as the greatest threat standing before them.

"And when our enemies witness what we are willing to sacrifice to protect our home," Max continued, "they will tremble before our might."

His gaze passed over those gathered before him.

"So, who will fight beside me? Who among you will rise and become the heroes this kingdom needs? Or will you remain trembling while your friends spill their blood to protect you?"

His words cut through their hearts like blades of ice, leaving no room for excuses or silence.

"The Fire Dragons will fight for Voidstar."

Sigmund was the first to rise, striking a clenched fist against his chest. Agnia’s eyes followed her former commander, pride shining within them as she watched him pledge himself and his people to the kingdom they had once fought against.

"The Wind Dragons will fight for our king," Eberhard declared as he rose beside him.

"The Thunder Dragons will make the skies tremble for our people," Arvid followed, lightning sparking within his eyes and crawling across his clenched fingers.

"The Ice Dragons will follow our king even into death, should he command it," Marcus declared as he stood, purple flames burning around his fist.

Silence followed as every gaze turned toward the elves.

Ilyndessa remained kneeling for a moment longer, the empty sleeve beside her body reminding everyone of what Max had taken from her. Yet when she looked at him now, she no longer saw only the conqueror who had destroyed Aelvarith and forced its surviving leaders to kneel. She saw a king prepared to bleed and die for lands that had only recently become his own.

Ilyndessa slowly rose and raised her head.

"The elves will lend you their strength, my king," she said, her voice carrying clearly throughout the chamber. "We will fight beside the dragons, and if the survival of Voidstar demands it, we will fight until the last of us can no longer stand."

The five leaders stood united before Max, their hearts beating beneath different bloodlines, histories and old hatreds, yet bound together by a single purpose.

None of them understood it then, but their vows marked the beginning of a new age for Voidstar, shaping the kingdom into something the world had never witnessed before.

In the generations that followed, Voidstarians would remember that day as the Pact of the Five Heads.
