The point on the map split into three.

One mark remained over the submerged sanctuary. The second moved west along a route that did not exist on any nautical chart. The third appeared inside the Witch Realm itself.

Amelia was the first to notice.

"That one is here."

Kael followed the silver line toward a region of hills south of the palace.

"What is there?" Sylphie asked.

Irelia answered without consulting any records.

"An underground storage facility for dangerous artifacts. It has been sealed for twenty years."

Kael looked toward the capsule where the Cradle’s first creation remained imprisoned. The body’s red pupils were now complete, and small white lines moved beneath its skin like roots searching for an exit.

"It brought something."

Liza approached the glass.

"Not inside the body. In the blood."

Kael understood.

"The body was an anchor."

Mariel closed her remaining eye.

"The Cradle needed three points to stabilize a name outside the Dead Paths. Origin, passage, and arrival."

Kael indicated each point.

"Sanctuary, route, and storage facility."

The creature smiled behind the glass.

"You learn quickly."

"And you talk too much."

Kael sent mana through the seal. The white lines converged toward him, and the same symbol appeared on the prisoner’s chest and over the map.

"The point here depends on it."

"Then we destroy the body," Violet said.

"Not yet. The arrival point may search for another vessel among the survivors and artifacts connected to the routes."

Kael pointed toward the map.

"Amelia, evacuate the southern region and close every passage. Irelia, prepare a list of the artifacts. Violet, take half the agents to the perimeter, but no one enters."

"And the sanctuary?" Eleonor asked.

"If we attack the arrival point, the name escapes through the passage. If we go directly to the origin, the point inside the realm completes the transport."

Sylphie understood.

"We need to cut all three at the same time."

"Exactly."

Kael assigned their positions. Eleonor, Yggdrasil, and Violet would contain the arrival point. Liza would follow the passage through the first creation’s blood connection. Elizabeth would remain in the palace as an anchor for Kael’s name.

Mariel would go to the sanctuary under Umbra’s supervision.

Within eleven minutes, Amelia prepared two passages, Eleonor synchronized the arrival seals, and Liza received a sample of the creature’s blood. The Direction Eye was temporarily connected to Mariel through Sylphie’s energy and a chain created by Umbra.

Before leaving, Kael stopped in front of the capsule.

"You think she is you," the creature said.

"Does she possess my memories?"

"Memories about you."

"That is not the same thing."

"For a name, it can be."

Kael touched his sword.

"Then she will discover the difference."

The portal opened over a stone platform above the ocean. The night was beginning to weaken, and the tide withdrew in sudden movements, as though something beneath the sea were pulling it downward.

Mariel raised her face.

"Four minutes remain before the sanctuary chooses which world it will remain in."

"Then we will not let it choose."

Sylphie sent roots into the ocean. Umbra disappeared beneath the platform. Mariel opened the Direction Eye, causing silver lines to rotate around the artificial iris.

"I see three overlapping positions. The bottom of the ocean, the Dead Paths, and a third one I do not recognize."

"Which is closest?"

"All three."

"Bad answer."

"That is how absences work."

The water below them sank.

It did not retreat to the sides. It descended as though part of the ocean had lost its bottom. A circular structure appeared inside the empty space, surrounded by leaning columns and chains covered in symbols. The sanctuary did not emerge. The sea simply stopped occupying the place where it existed.

Kael saw the central tank standing open and hooded figures kneeling around it. At the center, the silver-haired woman raised her face. Even from dozens of meters away, her red and golden eyes found Kael.

"Now."

Amelia activated the second passage. A barrier appeared beneath the sanctuary, cutting its connection with the depths. Sylphie restrained the columns. Mariel fixed the position, and Umbra covered the exits with shadow.

Kael jumped without using Celestial Step, broke through the cracked roof, and landed inside the hall with his sword in hand. Sylphie and Mariel followed immediately behind him.

Twelve hooded figures stood. The woman stepped out of the remains of the tank, too perfect to appear natural.

"You came."

"You keep inviting me."

"I did not invite you."

"You sent a copy after me."

"I sent a mirror."

The figures removed their cloaks.

They were empty vessels. Men, women, young people, and the elderly without eyes, all crossed by white lines.

Sylphie allowed natural energy to circulate through her arms.

"She intends to divide herself."

Mariel turned pale.

"No. She already has."

The twelve bodies opened their eyes at the same time. One red, the other golden. Each vessel received a different part of the name.

Kael felt the connections move toward the other two points. The arrival point reacted. The passage tracked by Liza accelerated.

He activated the crystal.

"All points have begun. Cut on my signal."

Eleonor answered first.

"Ready."

Liza spoke immediately afterward.

"I found the passage."

The woman tilted her head.

"You believe three cuts will kill a name."

"No. But they will prevent it from escaping."

Kael advanced.

The woman raised one hand, and three vessels disappeared. One appeared behind Kael with the copied speed. Another appeared in front of Sylphie. The third reached Mariel.

Kael turned and cut the leg of the body behind him. Sylphie threw the second into a column, while Umbra pulled Mariel into the shadow and restrained the third.

"First movement recorded," the woman said.

Kael understood. The vessels were collecting responses.

"Then stop showing her," Sylphie said.

"No. We will show her incorrectly."

Kael used Celestial Step in a deliberately imperfect manner. Four bodies copied him. Two fell, one tore its ankle apart, and the last appeared far from its target.

Kael completed the advance without the technique and struck the woman in the abdomen. She caught his wrist.

"A lie."

"You learned that part."

White lines tried to invade Kael’s channels, but Sylphie was already connected to his chest. Natural energy passed through his arm and burned away the connection before it could reach his mana center. Kael twisted the woman’s wrist and threw her against the tank.

The other vessels advanced.

"Mariel."

The Cartographer reappeared beside Umbra.

"I see fifteen exits."

"Close fourteen."

"Which one do I leave?"

"The one leading to Liza."

The Direction Eye rotated. Silver doors appeared on the walls, the ceiling, and beneath the empty bodies. One by one, they began closing, forcing every connection to follow the same route.

The woman rose among the remains of the tank.

"If you close the last one, everything will return to the main body."

"That is the idea."

"You cannot contain all of it."

Kael activated the crystal.

"Liza."

The queen’s voice came accompanied by wind.

"I am above the route."

"Open it."

Liza tore the current of blood apart with both hands. A red rift appeared inside the sanctuary, connecting the hall to a space without a floor, where fragments of memories, bodies, and symbols moved at high speed.

Kael looked toward the crystal.

"Now."

Inside the Witch Realm, Eleonor closed the space around the storage facility. Yggdrasil severed the territorial references. Violet destroyed the blood anchor attached to the first creation.

All three points were cut at the same time.

The sanctuary trembled. The vessels fell, and their white lines passed through the only exit Mariel had left open. Only those already inside the woman remained.

Her presence became heavier. The memories organized themselves around a single will.

She smiled.

"Thank you."

Kael realized the mistake.

They had prevented the name from dividing.

But they had also completed it inside the main body.

She raised one hand. The sanctuary stopped trembling, the water froze, Umbra’s shadows were pushed away, and Mariel’s eye stopped moving.

Her presence occupied every route.

"Now I possess a name."

Kael tightened his grip on the sword.

"Which one?"

She ran her fingers through her silver hair. Her face changed one final time, not to copy Kael, but to choose its own form.

"Seraphine."

The pressure increased. The ceiling began to crack, and the suspended ocean started falling again.

Kael felt the connection with Sylphie return for an instant.

"We need to leave," she said.

"Mariel, open the route to Liza. Umbra takes Sylphie first."

"And you?" Umbra asked.

"I will prevent her from using the collapse to disappear."

Seraphine extended one hand.

Scarlet and golden lines appeared beneath her skin. They did not form Celestial Step. It was a technique constructed from Kael’s movement, the Direction Eye, and the memories of the Well. Instead of moving the body toward a destination, she pulled the destination toward herself.

The space between them vanished. Seraphine touched Kael’s chest without moving her feet.

"Second movement."

His channels were read at the same time. Kael caught her wrist and realized the technique did more than alter distance. It made the world accept that the target had always been within reach.

"You did not copy my Step," Kael said.

"I corrected it."

"No."

He tightened his grip on her wrist and allowed scarlet mana to enter through the connection.

"You created another door."

Seraphine tried to break contact, but Kael held her. If she could pull destinations toward herself, the connection also allowed him to reach the route used by the technique. Behind her, Kael felt hundreds of overlapping directions and, at the center, a white structure keeping the name unified.

Seraphine noticed too late.

"Release me."

"You first."

Kael pulled the route.

He did not try to move Seraphine toward him. He did the opposite. He dragged the technique’s arrival point into the rift opened by Liza.

Seraphine’s body slid half a step.

For the first time, her eyes showed surprise.

Kael smiled.

"You spent too much time studying how I arrive."

The red rift expanded behind her.

"You should have studied how I pull things back."

The ceiling collapsed.

Water, stone, and pressure crashed into the hall. Umbra wrapped around Sylphie and Mariel, taking both of them into Liza’s route. Kael kept Seraphine restrained while the floor broke apart beneath his feet.

She opened her free hand.

Twelve white lines emerged from the fallen vessels and pierced the surrounding space. Each one fixed a different destination. The sanctuary, the ocean, the Dead Paths, and the Witch Realm appeared overlaid for an instant.

"I do not need to escape," Seraphine said. "I only need to decide where I have always been."

Kael felt her body begin disappearing from every position at the same time.

Then he cut.

The sword passed through all twelve lines at once, not through force, but because he had already found the point where they converged. The destinations unraveled. Seraphine lost stability and was pulled toward the rift.

She grabbed Kael’s shirt.

"If I cross, you come with me."

"That was the idea."

Kael used Celestial Step.

Not to escape.

He crossed the remaining short distance while taking Seraphine with him. Both entered the red route at the exact moment the sanctuary was crushed by the ocean.

The last thing Kael heard was Sylphie screaming his name.

Then there was no water, ground, or sky.

Only a passage made of blood, memories, and broken distances.

Liza stood at the other end.

When she saw Kael appear while holding the silver-haired woman, the Vampire Queen smiled dangerously and raised both hands.

"You brought company?"

Kael tightened his grip on Seraphine’s wrist.

"Close the door first."

Liza closed it.

The route collapsed behind them.

Seraphine looked around and realized there was no longer a sanctuary, no vessels, and no other exits. Only Kael, Liza, and a passage space shrinking with every second.

Kael pointed the sword toward her chest.

"Now we will discover which one of us the world recognizes as real."
