After watching the entire event, Rommel finally understood the two most important pieces of news Hill had given him: Gilbert and Aislin.
He was certainly aware of Aislin’s uniqueness, but what Hill had hidden beneath the surface and refused to say out loud, Rommel only understood today: if this woman continues living so recklessly, the best outcome next time they meet would be encountering the Goddess of the Silvermoon of this world.
The worst result would undoubtedly be the destruction of both wills, leaving Aislin herself with nothing but ashes... However, with this world already reconnected with the Styx, and with someone named Gilbert, a Hell Messenger squatting nearby, she might still manage to protect her shattered soul.
Although an Envoy of the Styx cannot accomplish as much as the Will of the Styx, when it comes to the small matter of exhausting their mana to save someone’s soul, they can indeed do it.
And according to the interactions between Hill and Aislin, the relationship between the mentor and his apprentice is quite complicated.
This complexity is something that Draculus, who has taught many students, naturally understands: although there is discord between us, although we compete, I still won’t watch you die.
Not to mention a death involving soul destruction.
Gilbert should give her a helping hand.
Of course, there’s another possibility: if Aislin herself has fate on her side and finds the strength to turn around at the right time... ultimately salvaging her own soul when the two parties have mutually suffered injuries.
Although this possibility is only one in ten thousand, since there is this possibility, there are those who might accomplish it... Draculus couldn’t help but glance at the metal painting... such as the owner of this painting.
Of course, Draculus himself didn’t think Aislin could do it.
But this Female Mage, after all, had interactions with Hill.
Whether the Little Bear’s overwhelming fate would extend some protection to Aislin, Draculus wasn’t entirely sure.
The relationship between those two didn’t seem that good, yet it also didn’t seem that bad.
It all depends on a fleeting thought of Hill’s, and even he probably doesn’t know whether the goodwill he occasionally shows toward Aislin has provided any blessings to enhance this unfortunate Female Mage.
Hill probably feels nothing, but Draculus is well aware that for those Hill takes a liking to, the unluckiest are merely like Alice.
However, Alice’s situation is quite special.
Although it is still unknown how Teraxil’s Magical Beasts came to be, Draculus knows far more than Hill about those Magical Beasts.
He had long known that at the Demi-god Rank, Magical Beasts would always have some that despise elves and humans to the point of madness, and even dislike dwarves.
Whenever such Magical Beasts appear, the scale of the Magical Beast tide increases significantly.
Only after the tragic death of the White Wolf King, and even the fall of the Lake Goddess, did the appearance of such Magical Beasts significantly decrease.
How to put it... back in the day when the God of Nobility was up to all those antics, it wasn’t just him alone trying hard.
Individuals like Draculus, although outwardly doing nothing, secretly added fuel in many ways, and there were quite a few.
Therefore, he had long been aware of the subtle moves the God of Nobility made against Alice and was not surprised by the result.
As for Alice being able to save her life and directly seek help from the Goddess of the Sea... there were quite a few involved, both humans and gods alike.
Everyone watched knowingly as it all unfolded, but definitely did not wish to completely offend the Earth Deity System or the Goddess of the Sea.
Hill’s presence in Teraxil was simply too strong.
Otherwise, why would anyone care so much about the life and death of a little cat?
Humans, gods, they’re all the same in sacrificing others to achieve their own ends.
So, Draculus wasn’t all that surprised to find members of his Mage Association collaborating with Devils.
He was just unprepared for the sheer number of Legendary Mages who had had their reason destroyed by greed... indeed, many of those so-called Legendary Mages left behind in the Mage Association were almost entirely ignorant of Teraxil’s true circumstances—half-baked fools.
Life, upon reaching what an individual considers its pinnacle, is left with only the pursuit of power and desire, coupled with the dream of living a bit longer.
Yet, having weathered life’s storms and witnessed its vast scenery, how could they not understand that the end result of cooperating with such malevolent entities as Devils would inevitably lead to the loss of even themselves?
Draculus even understands more those who chose betrayal against their home planet, against him as their teacher, and against former kindly relationships with fellow apprentices, students who opted for the starry sky.
When they decisively chose their future, heading to the starry sky and leaving their home planet and him behind... the truth is their bottom line was almost like a rubber band.
Stretch it gently, and it would inevitably break.
There were, naturally, those who considered seeking survival outside, yet they weren’t fated for it.
They met a traitor most deserving of death.
If it were only a matter of choosing oneself between Teraxil and himself, defecting to Devils, Draculus wouldn’t be so furious.
He never interfered with what paths his students choose.
Yet, when down to one’s advantage, they even betray their longtime acquaintances within their sect... it can only be said that since their bottom line is indistinguishable from broken rubber bands, they have no reason to continue living.
A vicious gleam flashed in Draculus’s eyes as he slightly raised one hand before setting it down again.
He refrained from succumbing to the impulse to draw out the items from his ring, yet he mentally reviewed the list of those who deserved to die.
Even though, following this incident, he certainly won’t be able to enter Hell casually.
But after quite a period of observing these Devils from Sia Tower, Draculus had discovered one thing: Devils actually hold profound disdain for those who sell their own souls.
Therefore, they would never allow these filthy souls to enter their home, the nine layers of hell.
Unless they were planning to let them participate in a blood battle.
Or, more simply, someone had taken a liking to their souls and wanted to turn them into soul crystals.
The rest, even if transformed into devils, are thrown into certain worlds as pioneers.
How much reward they get depends entirely on how much evil they commit.
Draculus absolutely doesn’t mind traversing every world where devils exist... until that list becomes a piece of memorabilia.
He gently took a breath, suppressing the flicker of anger that surged within him again... Damn Glaysia.
Even without Hill hinting at him, upon knowing the owner of Sia Tower was Glaysia, Draculus was somewhat mentally prepared.
This place magnifies one’s inner emotions.
This is the talent halo of the Succubus Queen.
Not to mention he personally witnessed the situation in Sia Town.
Those scents of desire naturally all converge upon the White Tower from all directions.
The emotional reactions of the mages of Sia Tower are more intense than other places, and it’s not just because this is a gathering place for evil.
But because of the almost imperceptible emotional halo permeating Sia Tower.
So, although Draculus had a headache, he wasn’t too surprised to see how intricately Hill had crafted his return gift.
After all, he indeed kept the matter from the little bear cub.
Just consider them even.
Of course, even without this metal painting, he surely wouldn’t tell Hill.
Why should he, when he’s still hoping Hill would in a fit of rage directly confront Asmodeus?
If Draculus has to reveal his own existence.
As long as he asks a few extra questions related to Teraxil at the time... no matter what shameless remarks the Lord of Hell makes, as long as he admits to having some plan regarding Teraxil, that’s enough.
Therefore, Draculus was actually quite pleased to see Hill’s impulsive move.
This proves the little bear hasn’t noticed his emotional problem and is quite content.
Any emotional state of Hill doesn’t actually affect him much, but it can decide his life or death later. Draculus doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong.
As for confessing the truth first, then waiting for Hill’s goodwill... If he were to do that, he wouldn’t be the Mage Guild Leader who coldly watches the world change, only acting when necessary.
As for whether he’ll face retaliation from the bear... after all, once everything is over, the transformed Hill will surely discover the truth... Draculus doesn’t care.
Hill is someone with principles.
Despite having very different personalities and experiences, he and William are quite similar in this aspect.
So, even growing up influenced by different worlds, those two can become good friends.
Of course, not too close.
Anyone wanting to become close friends with the God of Justice must brace themselves for their behavior to be influenced.
It’s not a matter of William’s desires; it’s that eventually, he will be affected by his divinity.
Unaware that William has a Dark Goddess girlfriend, Draculus made a rather incorrect judgment... As long as Shaer stays by William’s side, he will definitely not be affected by his divinity.
Otherwise, his eternal enemy would be his own past lover.
Draculus feels Hill’s revenge would surely remain within certain limits, and it’s something he can fully endure.
He’s long declared that he wouldn’t be like the God of Nobility, who grieves over temporary damage to reputation.
Draculus never cared about such things.
Draculus looked at the metal painting, took a deep breath... It’s not that he completely doesn’t care, but he can only act this way.
His principles and stance, no matter how they are labeled as ’old stubbornness,’ won’t and can’t change.
If they did, would he still be Draculus?
He lightly closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, it was Rommel looking at the metal painting.
Rommel gazed at the stationary image showing the black-robed figure standing in the Bone Giant’s eyes.
He knew very well this must be Gilbert.
That Gilbert would become an Envoy of the Styx also made him finally understand the meaning behind Kamente Tower’s occasional comments about the Hainarson Clan’s good fortune... This family is truly favored by the world’s fate.
