Chapter 134: Chapter 117: Curse Armor 2
Su Xing walked up to the man and lightly patted his body. A system panel instantly popped up, and Su Xing couldn’t help but smile.
"This upgrade... I’ve gotten so much stronger."
To be honest, even Su Xing himself hadn’t expected the kill to be so easy.
He could tell his opponent was weaker than Anger, and he himself was much stronger than when he’d fought him. He knew taking the man down wouldn’t be a problem. But "not a problem" was one thing; who could have known how much time it would actually take?
It seemed his strength had truly received an absurd boost.
After all, he hadn’t even used his full strength; he hadn’t drawn his Black Sword or used any of his sword techniques. Yet he could already kill a Tier Five Sequence on the spot. If he were to go all out, Su Xing couldn’t even begin to guess just how powerful he was now.
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the stairwell. Someone was clearly on their way up.
Su Xing immediately enveloped himself in his "Sword Qi Stance," then darted down a side passage and vanished into the floors below.
...
BOOM!
The massive explosion shocked everyone present. It also shocked a purple-eyed man dozens of kilometers away.
Deep within a subterranean base, a man completely cloaked in shadow suddenly opened his eyes. His irises were purple—he was the very man Su Xing had just killed.
He jerked his head around to face the direction of the special organization, muttering in disbelief:
"Thankfully... Vice Bishop Jie gave me a Puppet’s Blessing. Otherwise, I would’ve been the one to die."
"But since you killed my puppet, you can just die for me."
Although the puppet had been absorbed by Su Xing, preventing the purple-eyed man from receiving any information from it, the identity of the killer was irrelevant to him. All that mattered was taking them out.
Only two types of people could have destroyed his puppet: a hidden expert, or one of the figures backing the special organization. Eliminating either would be a major victory.
As for the puppet’s mission, he was certain it had been completed. After all, sketching a diagram wasn’t hard. He was confident of at least that much.
The man spread his hands, fingers splayed, and began muttering an incantation as if in prayer.
Simultaneously, the character for "Curse" materialized on his chest. Wisps of purple sequence energy streamed out in a single direction, flowing for a distance before abruptly vanishing, becoming colorless and formless.
The man’s hair grew a few shades whiter. A smile touched his lips as he murmured:
"Heh, I hope you savor the taste of curse power."
...
「Outside the organization’s headquarters.」
Su Xing leaned over a sink in a public restroom, splashing cold water on his face as he stared at his reflection in the mirror.
After cleaning up any remaining traces of the fight, Su Xing nodded in satisfaction.
’That should do it.’
Just as he was about to leave, a bizarrely pale face flashed in the mirror.
"???"
’What was that??’
Su Xing froze. By the time he tried to get a clearer look, the pale face in the mirror had vanished.
His brow furrowed. Anyone else might have written it off as a hallucination or a trick of the eye, but Su Xing never doubted his senses.
He knew for a fact that he had seen a pale face, and he had seen it clearly.
The face’s mouth was wide open, contorted in extreme agony, as if it were enduring some unbearable torture, letting out a series of silent screams that were visible but unheard.
Then, the pale face suddenly appeared in Su Xing’s mind. He looked around and realized the public restroom was starting to melt away into nothing.
It wasn’t just the mirror in front of him, but the urinals behind him, the toilets—one fixture after another began to melt, dissolving into black holes of various sizes. The entire restroom looked as if it was about to collapse.
In his mind, the pale face twisted into a grotesque smile as it endlessly muttered:
"Stay... Stay... Stay..."
Gazing at the bizarre scene, Su Xing’s eyes narrowed, his mind remaining perfectly calm.
As for fear... he had cast that emotion aside the moment he gained true power. ’All fear stems from a lack of strength. I don’t care if you’re a ghost or a phantom, one slash of my sword is all it takes.’
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP.
Suddenly, the sound of someone walking in flat-soled shoes reached Su Xing’s ears.
Su Xing’s vision swam for a moment, and the scene before him snapped back to normal. The restroom was perfectly intact, with no hint of having been dissolved. The pale face that had been smiling at him was also gone, as if it had never been there at all.
"Bro, why’d you call me here?"
Su Yu ran into the restroom and came up beside Su Xing.
"That Tier Five Sequence... you killed it, right?"
"I did. I called you here to help me cover my tracks. Also, about that diagram he drew... if your organization finds out anything, make sure you..."
Su Xing broke off mid-sentence, his brow suddenly furrowing. An intense, unsettling feeling of being watched washed over him.
’It’s coming from Su Yu.’
’How could it be Su Yu?!’
Su Xing snapped his head up, his eyes locking onto his younger brother!
He saw Su Yu’s eyes flashing with purple light, staring at him with an unnaturally sinister and bizarre gaze. The moment Su Xing looked up, however, Su Yu’s expression returned to normal.
