Chapter 135: Chapter 117: Curse Armor (3)

"Big Bro, what are you doing?"

Su Yu watched his older brother’s actions with some confusion. They were just too strange.

Su Xing looked at his younger brother. He had always trusted him unconditionally, but he couldn’t stop thinking about the look he had just seen. After a moment’s hesitation, he finally spoke.

"It’s nothing. I think I’m seeing things."

"Seeing things?"

Su Yu asked in confusion. He glanced at his big brother, but couldn’t sense the slightest trace of contamination from Sequence Energy. Puzzled, he said,

"Big Bro, maybe you’re just overworked. Should you go see a doctor?"

"I’m fine."

Su Xing said in a low voice, reaching his right hand for the faucet, intending to turn it on and splash some water on his face again.

However, the moment his gaze left Su Yu’s face, that sickening feeling of being watched washed over him again. This time, Su Yu’s eyes were filled with an insane, twisted light.

SNAP!

With a sharp crack, Su Xing snapped the faucet right off in his hand!

A steady stream of water gushed out, soaking Su Xing’s weary face. It ran down his cheeks, eventually dripping onto the floor.

"Big Bro, are you really okay?"

This scene made Su Yu worry. Ever since he’d found out his big brother was secretly a powerful expert, Su Xing had seemed like an invincible War God. He had never seen him lose his composure like this.

"I’m fine."

Su Xing said, shaking his head.

Something like this was, of course, nothing to him. After the shock of the cold water, his vision returned to normal, and his muddled thoughts cleared.

’What kind of technique... is this?’

A cold glint flashed in Su Xing’s eyes. After experiencing it several times, he was finally certain. This had to be some kind of Extraordinary power; it couldn’t be a random illness. ’But who is the enemy capable of such a thing?’

’Could it be him?’

Su Xing suddenly recalled the purple light he had just seen in his brother’s eyes.

It reminded him of the Tier Five Sequencer he had just killed. ’Perhaps... he isn’t really dead?’

Just then, his reflection in the mirror suddenly shot out a purple light from its eyes. A bizarre smile curled its lips as it silently extended a pair of large, thick hands.

The hands quickly passed through the mirror, reaching into the real world.

The arms, which had been nearly identical to Su Xing’s, instantly changed as if ravaged by time. All color drained from them, and they took on a terrifying, highly-decayed appearance, like the arms of a zombie.

THUMP!

Lost in thought, Su Xing suddenly felt his heart give a heavy thud. It was like an intuitive alarm bell, causing him to snap his head up toward the mirror!

"Shit..."

Su Xing reacted quickly, but he was still a step too slow.

He was simply too close to the mirror, and the bizarre way the arms had appeared was too sudden. By the time he looked up, they were already right in front of him.

Before Su Xing could react, the hands grabbed his shoulders and tried to drag him into the mirror!

Any fool would know,

if he got pulled in, it would all be over!

However, to the surprise of both Su Xing and the creature, when the hands grabbed his shoulders and pulled with all their might, Su Xing merely swayed slightly, his legs planted on the ground like tree roots.

"..."

Su Xing froze for a moment.

The smile on his reflection’s face froze as well.

WHOOSH!

The creature instantly realized something was wrong. It let go of Su Xing and tried to flee back into the mirror!

But Su Xing wasn’t about to tolerate being provoked again and again. He shot out his right hand like a lightning bolt, grabbing one of the arms before it could retract!

Su Xing put his strength into it and viciously yanked the creature from the mirror!

BOOM!!!

The bathroom mirror instantly shattered, and Su Xing dragged a man out from it—one who reeked of death, his eyes glowing with purple light!

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

After being dragged from the mirror, the creature let out a piercing shriek and swung its other fist directly at Su Xing!

Su Xing didn’t dodge or evade. "Qi Sword Stance" instantly flooded his right arm, and he threw a punch to meet the attack!

When the creature’s fist, packing the force of a cannonball, slammed into Su Xing’s right arm, there was a loud CRACK. It was as if the fist had hit solid metal, not flesh.

The creature’s fist shattered on impact!

After shattering its fist, Su Xing’s own punch continued with unabated ferocity, smashing directly into the creature’s head!

BOOM!!!

The creature’s body couldn’t withstand the blow. Su Xing’s technique, treating his fist as a sword, was like a massive bomb detonating inside its body. The creature let out a deafening roar and then completely exploded.

"Big Bro! Big Bro! Big Bro! Why did you suddenly attack the mirror?!"

As Su Yu’s voice once again rang in his ears, Su Xing felt himself stagger, and the world before him snapped back to its original state.

Except,

his fist was buried in the wall in front of him.

The mirror and sink were shattered all over the floor, and the broken faucet was still gushing water.

The mirror creature that Su Xing had killed with one punch was nowhere to be seen. Its exploded body had vanished without a trace, as if it had never existed at all.

’A hallucination?’

At this thought, Su Xing’s expression darkened. He lowered his head and asked Su Yu,

"Yu, did you just see someone come out of the mirror?"

"Someone? I didn’t see anyone at all."

"I just saw you staring blankly at the mirror, and then you suddenly punched the wall, smashing it to smithereens. Big Bro, did you see something?"

"Yeah."

Su Xing took a deep breath, looked up at Su Yu, and said, "I did..."

He stopped mid-sentence, which made Su Yu realize something was wrong. He asked cautiously,

"Are you seeing something on me?"

"No."

Su Xing calmly watched Su Yu, whose face was roiling like boiling cement, making him look utterly terrifying. Taking a deep breath, Su Xing asked,

"Yu, do you know of any Sequence that could cause something like this?..."

After hearing Su Xing’s question, Su Yu thought for a long time before finally uttering two words: "Curse Armor."

There is a Sequence called "Curse Armor." It allows the user to generate a suit of purple armor behind them, which possesses a special type of Sequence Energy called "Curse Power."

Wielding Curse Power requires sacrificing a significant portion of one’s lifespan, but it is an undeniably terrifying power.

It is colorless and formless; its victims don’t even know when they’ve been afflicted. But once you are, you will be tormented by endless hallucinations until you die.

If they were just simple hallucinations, that wouldn’t be so bad.

But the most terrifying thing about this Sequence is that its illusions exist in the space between fiction and reality. Some are fake, and some are real, and you can never tell which is which. If you are harmed by a "real" illusion, your physical body will suffer the same injury.

The worst part is...

the hallucinations grow stronger the longer the victim is afflicted, right up until they die. As for the solution, it’s also quite simple: find the Sequencer who wields the Curse Armor, and kill them!
