System Mission: Seduce the Final Boss [BL]

Chapter 192: I can soothe his tantrum...

The conversation he had just had with the other two was nothing short of... well, full of suspicions.

Blake scratched the back of his head as he sat down on a bench.

’It was pretty obvious, they could’ve at least tried to hide it.’

They hadn’t outright accused him of anything, but their questions, their expressions, the way they kept looking at him...

Yeah, they had doubts. And what was he supposed to do about that?

He had done the best he could.

There wasn’t exactly a convenient, completely truthful explanation he could give them. Not unless he wanted to throw his entire life into chaos.

Blake sighed, leaning back against the bench and closed his eyes.

He felt drained.

These past few days had been rough, obviously, but this level of exhaustion was strange. He hadn’t even done anything particularly strenuous today.

Maybe he wasn’t sleeping properly. That had to be it.

He’d been thinking too much, worrying too much, constantly trying to keep track of what he could and couldn’t say.

Maybe his body was simply catching up with him.

Blake let out another quiet breath.

’Ah, who cares, I’ll stay like this just for a moment.’

He’d close his eyes for a moment.

That was all.

"If you don’t go now, *** **** ***."

Blake’s eyes snapped open.

His entire body stiffened.

’Huh?’

He immediately opened his eyes and started looking around.

There was nobody.

Of course, the street was still busy, but there was no one sitting particularly close to him.

A couple of students were walking down the sidewalk.

A cyclist passed by.

Cars moved along the road.

Blake frowned.

’Whose voice was that?’

It had sounded modified, artificially altered, just like how anyone he had seen so far with a metal suit.

The more he tried to remember it, the more it slipped away from him.

He could remember that someone had spoken, he could remember the strange texture of the sound.

But the actual voice itself was becoming harder to hold onto.

Blake rubbed his temple.

"What the hell..."

He sighed, annoyed.

’Whatever.’

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

The moment he saw the time, his face paled.

"...What?"

There were also several notifications.

From Myles.

Are you done?

Where are you?

Blake.

His eyes widened.

’Wait a damn second.’

He stared at the time again.

’No way!’

That couldn’t be right.

He’d only sat down for...

An hour? An entire hour?!

"What?!"

Blake immediately shot up from the bench.

He looked around in disbelief.

He hadn’t even been sleeping! He’d just closed his eyes!

How the hell had an entire hour passed?!

"No, no, no..."

He hurried toward the bus stop.

His pace quickly became a fast walk.

By the time he reached the corner, he spotted the bus he was supposed to take.

It was already pulling away.

"WAIT!"

He immediately ran after it.

"Wait!"

The bus didn’t wait.

"Are you kidding me?!"

He stopped, breathing heavily as the bus disappeared down the road.

Blake stood there, completely defeated.

"...Damn it."

He immediately checked the schedule.

At least, it was only a ten minute wait.

He sighed and leaned against the bus stop.

He could feel Myles was going to be a little upset, back home.

’Thank goodness I was only out for an hour. Can’t imagine if it were two or more.’

At most, it was going to be a little awkward, but since it wasn’t even for that long, it probably wasn’t going to be much of a problem.

"Blake."

His head whipped around.

His heart practically stopped.

’Jesus!’

He had just gotten off a bus on the opposite side of the road.

Myles crossed the street without hesitation, his eyes already fixed on Blake.

He stopped directly in front of him.

"Why didn’t you reply?"

Of course, he expected Myles to be a little tense, but not to the extent he would search for him!

"I swear I didn’t do that on purpose!"

Myles stared at him.

"Why?"

"Because I—"

Myles’ expression remained perfectly still.

"Did they upset you?"

Blake stilled.

"Huh. What?"

"The two of them."

"Oh."

Blake quickly shook his head.

"No, no. The conversation went normal enough."

Myles waited.

Blake scratched the back of his head.

"But, uh..."

"What?"

"...You look pretty mad."

Myles didn’t answer.

Blake immediately looked down.

That expression.

That atmosphere.

It reminded him of something.

It was just like that dream, as if it was Myles wearing his UD suit.

After all, it was the same cold presence and fbe same overwhelming intensity.

Blake’s stomach twisted.

He didn’t know why, but it made him feel strangely sad.

Myles noticed immediately. His entire body stilled.

His senses had already told him something was wrong.

Blake’s heartbeat, it wasn’t merely elevated, there was anguish in it.

Far more than there should have been from simply being approached by him suddenly.

Myles’ fingers tightened slightly.

’Is this because of me?’

He reached out and took Blake’s hand.

"I’m sorry."

Blake raised an eyebrow.

"...For what?"

Myles didn’t answer immediately.

His expression had softened, but there was still something tense beneath it.

Blake sighed.

"No, really. Don’t worry."

He squeezed Myles’ hand lightly.

"It’s my fault."

Myles looked at him.

"I kind of fell asleep on a bench."

"..."

"And I had a nightmare."

Myles’ eyes narrowed slightly, which made Blake laugh awkwardly.

"So I’m still a little out of it."

"..."

"I was just really tired, I closed my eyes for a second, and then... somehow that happened."

Myles remained silent.

Blake shifted uncomfortably.

"Seriously. I’m okay."

The bus finally arrived.

Myles didn’t say anything as they got on.

Blake followed.

Neither of them spoke during the ride.

When they got off, they walked toward Blake’s house, still silent.

The atmosphere was so intense that Blake actually hesitated before putting his key into the door.

’This is my own house, for god’s sake...!’

Why did it suddenly feel like he was walking into a courtroom?

He opened the door, and well... reluctantly, Blake entered, taking off his shoes.

"Hey so..."

Suddenly, Myles was towering over Blake.

"How could you be this careless?"

Blake flinched.

"I didn’t mean it!"

"I know."

Myles’ voice was controlled, which made Blake more nervous.

"You didn’t mean to fall asleep."

"Exactly."

"Then why didn’t you come home directly if you were that tired?"

Blake opened his mouth.

"I just wanted to sit down for a second, and then..."

He waved his hands helplessly.

"I don’t know! I closed my eyes and suddenly an hour was gone!"

Myles sighed as he rubbed his forehead.

His hands were rigid.

The veins along his arms were visibly pronounced.

Blake gulped.

’Woah...’

He really couldn’t handle Myles being upset with him.

Myles lowered his hand.

"If you cannot stay alone safely, you shouldn’t have been stubborn about going alone."

Blake froze.

"It wasn’t that big a deal."

Myles stared at him.

"Nothing happened this time. You were kidnapped once."

"Yeah, but—"

"That is enough."

Blake fell silent.

Myles’ voice remained low.

"To someone like me, humans are weak."

Blake frowned.

"Myles..."

"You aren’t difficult to kill."

Blake’s eyes widened.

"Or make disappear."

"Okay, okay!"

Blake immediately raised both hands.

"I’m sorry!"

Myles stopped.

Blake took a breath.

"Alright? I’m sorry. I really am."

He looked up at him.

"But let’s calm down."

Silence.

Myles’ expression remained stern.

Blake sighed.

He stepped closer.

Then, before he could overthink it, he leaned forward and gave Myles a quick peck on the lips.

Myles froze.

’Look at my efforts, you damn gods!’

Blake pulled back.

"There."

Myles stared at him.

"I gave you a surprise, the one I promised you. So cheer up."

Myles remained silent.

"I really won’t do it again."

For several seconds, nothing happened.

Then Myles leaned down.

Blake’s eyes widened.

Myles kissed him.

This time, he didn’t pull away immediately.

He took both of Blake’s hands in his own, holding them gently.

Blake froze, his heartbeat immediately accelerated.

But Myles wasn’t aggressive at all.

His lips were cold, just like the rest of his body, but the sensation itself was surprisingly pleasant.

Blake slowly relaxed.

’Oh, this actually feels kind of nice.’

Then he felt something touch his lower lip.

His eyes widened.

Myles’ tongue was gently pressing against his lips, silently asking for permission to deepen the kiss.

Blake immediately pulled back.

"Woah, woah!"

Myles stopped.

"I don’t know how to do that!"

Myles simply looked at him.

"..."

Blake looked back.

Neither spoke.

Then he scratched his cheek.

"Well..."

He glanced away.

"Wouldn’t hurt to try, right?"

Myles remained completely still.

Blake took a nervous breath.

"Just..."

He looked back at him.

"Don’t be disappointed if I’m bad at it."

"I won’t."

"You don’t even know what catastrophic job I might pull."

"Nothing of that nature will happen."

Blake blinked.

Myles’ fingers tightened slightly around his hands.

"I won’t be disappointed."

Blake stared at him, his face gradually becoming red.

"You’re way too confident."
