System Mission: Seduce the Final Boss [BL]

Chapter 195: Let’s not drop like this!

Apart from studying all day, Blake and Myles didn’t only chat around.

There were mornings like this, too.

The alarm went off at exactly 6:30 a.m.

Myles reached out from beneath the blankets and silenced it.

For several seconds, neither of them moved.

Then, somehow, they were already kissing.

Blake had barely registered that he was awake before they were full-on making out at this ridiculous hour of the morning.

Myles lowered Blake onto the mattress, the sheets cool beneath his back. He followed him down, his body settling over Blake’s with a deliberate slowness.

The chill of his skin pressed through their clothes, and Blake’s breath hitched at the contact.

Myles cupped Blake’s jaw, tilting his face up. His lips met Blake’s in a firm, unhurried press. The cold was immediate, sinking into Blake’s mouth like frost. Myles stayed there for a long moment, letting the temperature difference settle between them before his tongue pushed forward.

It slid in thick and icy, gliding over Blake’s tongue with a slow, heavy stroke.

Myles didn’t pull back.

He pressed deeper, his tongue curling and twisting in a steady rhythm that left no part of Blake’s mouth untouched.

Blake’s hands found Myles’s shoulders, fingers tightening as the kiss stretched on.

Myles shifted his weight, one knee sliding between Blake’s thighs, and angled his head to push even further.

’Woah woah, this is getting too far...! He isn’t even hard!’

His tongue dragged along Blake’s in long, glides, the chill making every pass sharper. Saliva, thin and cold, slipped from the corner of Blake’s mouth and trailed down his chin.

Myles didn’t ease up.

He kept the kiss locked, tongue working with that same intense, unyielding pace... pressing, stroking, exploring, until Blake’s lips tingled and his head spun from the contrast of heat and ice.

The only sound in the room was the wet slide of their mouths and the faint creak of the bed beneath them.

Eventually, Blake pulled back just enough to breathe.

"Seriously..." he muttered against Myles’ lips. "We can’t be doing this on the daily..."

Myles looked down at him, calm as ever.

He wiped the corner of Blake’s lips with his thumb.

"You do like it."

Blake couldn’t exactly deny that.

’Still, come on!’

This wasn’t something he could sustain every morning.

Myles’ hand moved through his hair, pushing it back from his forehead.

"Why can’t you?"

Blake stared at him.

’Because I can’t get turned on every day!’

That was certainly not something he was going to say out loud.

"I just get too flustered."

Myles looked down at him, distinctly unimpressed.

Blake chuckled.

He pushed himself up onto his elbows and gave Myles a quick peck on the lips.

"I like you. That’s why I’m so flustered."

Then he wrapped his arms around Myles.

Myles hugged him back without hesitation.

Blake rested his face against him.

It was only morning, huh...

Eventually, they got out of bed and went to the kitchen.

Blake shuffled in first, still half-asleep, his hair sticking up in several directions. He leaned against the counter while Myles opened the refrigerator and looked inside.

"What do you have?"

"Eggs, bread and some fruit."

"Ah, that’s good."

Myles took the eggs out.

Blake reached for the kettle and filled it with water.

"Tea?"

"Yes."

He set the kettle down and switched it on.

While it heated, Myles placed a pan on the stove. He cracked several eggs into a bowl, added a little salt and seasoning, then whisked them with a fork until the yolks and whites were completely combined.

Blake watched him.

"Can I do something?"

"You can cut the fruit."

Blake looked toward the counter.

"That’s not very exciting."

"Then you can just do nothing."

"I’d rather not."

He took an apple and a few other pieces of fruit and started cutting them into small pieces.

His movements were slow at first, mostly because he was still waking up.

Myles noticed.

"You’re going to cut yourself."

"I’m awake."

"You just nearly cut your finger."

Blake looked down.

He had, in fact, come dangerously close.

"...I’m awake enough."

Myles said nothing.

The bread went into the toaster.

The pan warmed, and Myles poured the eggs into it. He waited a few seconds before stirring them slowly, keeping the heat low.

Blake finished cutting the fruit and placed everything into a bowl.

He leaned over the pan.

"That smells good."

"You can eat it."

"It’s not done."

"I know."

Blake waited.

Myles continued stirring.

The eggs gradually became soft and folded, still slightly glossy.

Blake looked at them.

Myles turned off the stove and divided the eggs between two plates.

The toast popped up a moment later.

Blake grabbed the slices and put them onto the plates, then added the fruit.

The kettle clicked off.

Myles prepared the tea while Blake opened the cabinet and took out two glasses.

"Do you want juice?"

"No. That’s for you. I want water."

"Hey... I’m not a child!"

Blake filled the glasses.

For a moment, the kitchen was quiet except for the small sounds of dishes being moved around.

They sat down.

Blake immediately took a piece of toast.

He bit into it, then looked at Myles.

"Ah, it’s so good...!"

After a few minutes, he started waking up properly. His shoulders relaxed, and he became more talkative.

"What time are we meeting the others?"

"Later."

"How much later?"

"After we reach the mountain."

Blake looked up.

"So we’re going there first?"

"Yes."

"Ah, I see."

Blake nodded.

He took a sip of tea.

’Can’t say I’m scared but...’

He ate another piece of toast before suddenly remembering something.

They had to go, to figure out where the first-generation files were. So that Blake could make them a favor!

’So much for a relaxing day.’

They finished breakfast without rushing.

Myles collected the dishes afterward, and Blake helped him carry them to the sink. He rinsed the glasses while Myles washed the plates.

Blake leaned against the counter.

"You know, this is almost suspiciously normal."

Myles glanced at him.

"What is?"

"This."

Blake gestured vaguely at the kitchen.

"Breakfast, washing dishes, going out together... I mean, let’s think about how we started. I was scared!"

Myles hummed.

"Did I scare you that much?"

"Well... I guess. Still I was pretty reckless so I can’t say."

Blake smiled.

Once everything was clean, they got ready to leave.

As they stepped outside, Myles adjusted his bag.

"We’ll meet the others on the mountains."

Blake nodded.

"Right."

They started walking toward the bus stop.

After a few minutes, Blake looked sideways at him.

"Are we really just going like this?"

Myles looked at him.

"What do you mean?"

"No need to be secretive?"

"No."

"There isn’t?"

"No."

"Alright..."

They boarded the bus.

The ride was relatively quiet. Blake sat beside the window, watching the city gradually give way to less developed areas.

Today, they needed to plan where they could find the first generation’s files.

Once they knew where they were stored, Blake would eventually have to infiltrate the facility and retrieve them.

The thought made his stomach tighten slightly.

He wasn’t particularly excited about breaking into another AL-TECH facility.

But this time, at least, they had a clearer objective.

The bus eventually reached the outskirts of the mountain region.

They got off and began walking.

Blake recognized the entrance almost immediately.

His expression changed.

"This is where I came before."

Myles nodded.

It was the same mountain entrance Blake had been sent through during one of his missions.

The same place where he’d spent several miserable days after his legs had become too weak to carry him properly.

He looked toward the vegetation.

"Those flowers are still here."

They weren’t ordinary flowers.

Their stems twisted across the ground and climbed over rocks, covered in thin thorns that caught against clothing.

Blake stepped carefully.

A thorn snagged his sleeve.

"Ow."

Myles immediately caught his arm.

"Don’t move."

He carefully freed the fabric.

"Thanks."

They continued.

The terrain became increasingly uneven.

Blake tried to move normally, but every so often his footing slipped on loose soil or exposed roots.

Myles stayed beside him.

When Blake stumbled, Myles caught his arm.

When the path became steeper, he offered his hand.

Eventually, Blake stopped pretending he didn’t need help.

He leaned against Myles while they walked.

"This place really hasn’t changed... not that it had been that long but..."

Myles glanced at him.

Blake looked at the thorn-covered plants.

"I remember these."

"Don’t touch them."

"I wasn’t planning to."

A few steps later, Blake nearly stepped directly onto one.

Myles pulled him aside.

"...Okay."

Blake looked down.

"Maybe I should stop pretending I remember where I’m going."

"That would be safer."

Myles helped him around the worst sections of the path.

The deeper they went, the more familiar the surroundings became.

Blake remembered seeing Alexis and Zlatan somewhere around here during his mission.

He looked around.

"That should be close."

Myles stopped.

There was a large tree in front of them.

It looked completely ordinary.

Blake frowned.

"Here?"

Myles stepped closer.

"Yes."

He placed his palm against the trunk.

Nothing happened.

Then he reached for Blake’s hand.

Blake let him take it.

Myles placed Blake’s palm against the tree beside his own.

A small mechanical sound came from somewhere inside the trunk.

Click.

Blake’s eyes widened.

"What happened?"

"I registered your handprint."

"My handprint?"

Myles nodded.

He removed his hand, then placed it against the trunk again.

This time, something inside the tree responded immediately.

A section of bark shifted.

Blake stared.

The trunk opened.

Not like a door.

More like a hidden panel sliding inward, revealing a narrow passage inside.

Myles stepped through.

Then he reached back and pulled Blake after him.

"Wait—"

The opening closed behind them.

They were surrounded by darkness.

Blake looked around.

"This is cramped."

"It is."

"Why is it so—"

The floor dropped.

Blake’s stomach lurched.

"What the—!"

The entire compartment suddenly descended at terrifying speed.

It wasn’t an elevator in any conventional sense.

There was no gentle movement.

No warning.

It simply dropped.

Blake immediately grabbed onto Myles.

Myles remained remarkably calm.

He wrapped an arm around Blake and held him securely.

"This is normal."

"HOW IS THIS NORMAL?"

"It is the entrance."

"We’re falling!"

"We aren’t falling."

"We ARE!"

Myles held him a little tighter.

"Don’t worry."

Blake clung to him.

"How am I supposed to not worry?!"

The compartment continued plunging downward.

Blake squeezed his eyes shut.

Myles, meanwhile, seemed perfectly relaxed.

Of course he was.

He probably knew exactly where they were going.

Blake buried his face against Myles’ shoulder.

"This better stop soon."

"It will."

"When?"

Myles thought for a moment.

"Very soon."

Blake opened one eye.

"That isn’t reassuring."

The elevator continued its impossible descent.

And Blake decided that, next time Myles said something was normal, he was going to ask for a much more detailed definition of the word first.
