System Mission: Seduce the Final Boss [BL]
Chapter 203: Don’t underestimate me!The day was finally over.
Right after finding the blueprints, neither Blake nor Myles wasted any time.
They went straight to the last location, cleared it out, searched everything they could, and made sure there was nothing else worth taking before leaving.
Now, the two of them were flying back toward the base.
They weren’t too far away anymore.
Blake’s stomach, however, was making an entirely different argument. He was quite hungry!
He had eaten a surprisingly nice lunch hours ago, mostly because he’d discovered something extremely useful about the suit.
It could literally store food.
Apparently, the armor had a small insulated compartment designed for supplies, and Myles had already taken care of filling it for him.
So, technically, Blake had been fed. But it was a while ago, so now he was starving. It was eleven at night, after all! Unfortunately, way too late for dinner.
But Blake couldn’t imagine sleeping on an empty stomach.
"I’m hungry."
"Tonight, just stay at the base, I’ll give you dinner."
"Yeah, it’s not like I wanted to get home at one in the morning anyway..."
The base finally came into view.
The forest surrounding it looked completely different at night.
During the day, it had seemed relatively harmless.
Now every tree looked like it was hiding something.
Blake shifted a little closer to Myles without even realizing it.
He glanced around as they both descended.
Myles reached out and placed his palm against the tree, the faint mechanism activating beneath the bark.
The "elevator" opened.
Blake stepped inside with him.
Even though he was now holding onto Myles’s mechanically covered hand, he was handling the... elevator journey considerably better now.
A whole day of flying at full speed apparently did wonders for his confidence.
At least, his fear wasn’t nearly as bad as it had been this morning
The doors opened.
He immediately noticed that everyone was there.
"Good evening..."
"Good evening," both Estelle and Zlatan replied, with a smile.
Tania gave him a simple nod.
Alexis ignored him completely.
Blake stared at him.
’Okay dude...’
Myles walked toward the tube.
He stepped inside.
The machine activated, and after a few moments, his mechanical suit was removed.
Blake followed.
The tube closed around him.
Mechanical components detached themselves one by one until the helmet came off.
Then the rest of the armor was removed.
Blake stepped out.
Everyone except Myles was staring at him.
Not casually, either.
They were staring at him like predators examining something they’d never seen before.
Blake became increasingly uncomfortable.
Estelle was the first to speak.
"Is that the mask you were talking about?"
Blake scratched the back of his head.
"It’s one of them, yeah."
"Interesting."
All three got up and approached him.
Blake immediately froze.
’Eh... this is hella awkward! What am I, an animal?’
Zlatan reached out and touched his silver hair.
Blake froze.
"Wow."
Zlatan ran his fingers through a strand.
"The texture is exactly like human hair."
Blake stared at him.
"Yes, it’s supposed to be, I already explained what I knew..."
"Impressive."
Estelle examined his face.
"Why is your voice the same?"
Blake shrugged.
"I’m not sure. Only one of the masks I’ve used changed my voice."
Before anyone could ask another question, Blake flinched.
Alexis had grabbed his arm. Of course, he was checking the muscles, and in the middle of that process, he frowned.
He squeezed Blake’s arm once, examining the structure beneath the altered appearance.
Then he let go and walked away, sitting down again.
Blake looked toward Zlatan and Estelle.
"Um, is that all, or do you want to keep observing me a little longer?"
Estelle smiled.
"We can do that another time, don’t worry."
Zlatan nodded.
"It is rather uncanny."
Blake sighed out a chuckle.
’Well, being at eye level with someone as tall as you is definitely weird.’
"Where are the blueprints?"
Blake looked at Alexis.
"Oh."
He reached up and removed the Blank Mask, his body immediately returning to normal.
He walked over to the couch and sat beside Zlatan.
"Myles has them. It’s another jewel, a bracelet. It looks prettier than the one I got..."
Alexis waved his hand dismissively.
"Don’t say such idiotic things."
Blake pressed his lips together.
His eyes narrowed.
’What was so idiotic about it?! It is true the blueprints I got look like a deformed ring!’
Myles returned, carrying a plate.
Blake’s eyes immediately locked onto it. It was steak with potatoes!
His entire expression changed.
Myles placed the plate in front of him.
"Eat."
Blake immediately picked up his fork.
"Thank you."
He started eating.
Myles sat between Zlatan and Blake. Then, he placed the bracelet on the table.
He didn’t activate it yet.
"Report your day."
Estelle raised her hand.
"I’ll start."
Blake continued eating.
"I spent most of the day extracting the surveillance footage. The system was more complicated than expected, but I managed to isolate several sections from the relevant periods. Some files were corrupted, but there are still enough fragments to work with."
Myles nodded.
"Anything useful?"
"Not enough to establish the final location of the records. But I confirmed that the movement happened during the renovation period."
Tania spoke next.
"I continued analyzing the markings."
She looked toward the bracelet.
"Their structure is consistent with the symbols we found previously. I’ve identified several storage-related designations, though I still can’t determine exactly what each one represents."
"Could you identify a sequence?" Myles asked.
"Possibly. I need the newer blueprint first."
Alexis leaned back.
"Our turn."
Blake continued stuffing his face.
"Zlatan and I remained outside YEN throughout the day. We monitored everything entering and leaving the facility."
Zlatan nodded.
"Nothing unusual happened."
"That’s not entirely true, you idiot," Alexis said.
Zlatan looked at him.
"Most of it was unremarkable."
"That’s what I meant."
Alexis continued.
"We tracked deliveries, maintenance vehicles, employees, and several private vehicles. Nothing directly connected to the files, but we recorded the patterns."
Myles nodded.
"I’ll start mine."
Blake felt a little guilty.
He was sitting there stuffing his face while Myles had to report everything they’d done alone.
But... the steak was really good.
Myles explained their day, but didn’t go into much detail, since their activities had followed essentially the same pattern.
As soon as he was finished, he then tapped the bracelet twice.
The hologram appeared above the table.
Blake stopped chewing.
The blueprints expanded into the air.
Estelle immediately reached for Ennora’s ring, her eyes narrowed wickedly, smiling.
"The one you found are officially unnecessary for future intrusions."
Blake swallowed.
"What a relief..."
Estelle nodded.
"Now that we have the more recent version, we can compare everything directly."
She looked toward Blake.
"Are you okay with me using it a bit more?"
"Yeah, of course, no need to ask."
Estelle smiled.
The ring activated.
A second projection appeared.
The older blueprint was placed beside the newer one.
Immediately, the differences became obvious.
Alexis pointed toward YEN.
"There."
Blake leaned forward.
"The western section?"
"Yes."
The newer blueprint showed several alterations.
Entire corridors had been changed.
Some rooms had disappeared.
Others had been divided.
Several access points had been relocated.
And, most importantly, the storage sectors had been reorganized.
Tania moved closer.
"The markings correspond to these areas."
She pointed at the projection.
Blake compared them to the copies he’d drawn earlier.
"So they really did move the records."
"Yes," Estelle said, "but not randomly."
Tania separated several symbols.
"They appear to follow a sequence."
Alexis crossed his arms.
"Which means we can potentially reconstruct the movement."
Blake looked between the two blueprints, eyes narrowing
"We can predict where they were moved now."
Estelle pointed toward one of the new sections.
"This is where things get complicated."
Blake leaned closer.
"The security?"
"Among other things."
She highlighted several corridors.
"The old blueprint had three direct routes into this area. The new one has only one."
"And it’s probably heavily guarded..."
Alexis scoffed.
"Of course!"
Blake sighed.
"So I’m not just going to walk in..."
"No."
Alexis zoomed in.
"The renovated sections have new security partitions. There are also additional surveillance points."
Estelle nodded.
"The footage confirms it. They increased security around these sections after the renovation."
Tania looked at the markings.
"That may also explain the symbols."
"How?"
"The markings might indicate different storage stages. The records were moved temporarily, then transferred again once the renovation was completed."
Blake stared at the hologram.
"So the records could’ve been moved more than once."
"Exactly."
Alexis pointed toward another area.
"And that means we can’t assume the storage room shown here is the final destination."
Blake groaned.
"We finally found the blueprints and there’s still another mystery."
Myles looked at the projection.
"Then we reconstruct the movement, using the surveillance footage, the markings and the blueprints."
Zlatan pointed toward the exterior.
"We should also investigate this specific part of YEN, today we were too focused of the west side."
Alexis nodded.
Myles looked at them.
"We will all continue with the same roles for now."
Alexis leaned back, crossing his arms.
"Hey, you, we need to determine your entry route definitely, now that we have these."
Estelle smiled. "I will take a look for you."
"Thanks!"
Alexis scoffed.
"You’ll have to memorize the route and blend in. I don’t like to repeat myself, train yourself to death!’
"Of course I will, I can already do both without much issues...!"
