Tempting Him to Lose Control

Chapter 86: Are You Making a Baby with Uncle?

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Are You Making a Baby with Uncle?

Claire Kendall looked at the man above her, who was on the verge of losing control, and her heart raced.

She tilted her head slightly, her voice softening involuntarily.

"You can."

Hearing her consent, Miles Warren’s body went rigid for a moment before his kisses grew more intense.

The mix of his crisp, clean scent and the sweetness of watermelon made Claire Kendall feel lightheaded.

Miles Warren’s hand caressed her cheek, then moved lower, pushing up her nightgown...

DING DONG!

DING DONG!

The doorbell rang insistently.

They both froze.

Claire Kendall opened her eyes. Miles Warren ignored it, clearly wanting to pay it no mind. He lowered his head and began kissing her again, his lips trailing a path of light, delicate kisses downward.

A child’s high-pitched voice called out from behind the door.

"Fairy Princess! Fairy Princess! Are you home?"

"It’s Bobby! Bobby and Grandpa are here to see you!"

Claire Kendall was jolted back to her senses. She pushed Miles Warren away and shot upright.

She frantically pulled her shoulder strap back on and straightened her clothes, her cheeks still flushed. "It’s Bobby and Warren! Hurry, open the door."

Shoved aside, Miles Warren leaned back against the sofa. A dark look clouded his eyes, but he forcibly suppressed his roiling frustration.

"Stay put. I’ll get it."

Miles Warren got up and opened the door.

Outside stood Louis Warren, leaning on his cane with Bobby beside him. Behind them were a butler and a bodyguard.

"Uncle? What’s my uncle doing at Fairy Princess’s house!" Bobby’s big eyes darted around.

When Louis Warren saw Miles Warren open the door, he took half a step back and glanced up to confirm the apartment number.

’502. This is the right place.’

’It’s so late. What is Miles doing at Claire’s house?’

His gaze swept over his son, looking him up and down.

Miles Warren hadn’t had time to button his shirt, leaving his collarbone exposed. A few scattered, telltale marks were visible on his skin.

Louis Warren’s eyes instantly lit up with excitement. ’He knew it! He wasn’t wrong about them!’

Miles Warren’s face was devoid of expression, his tone displeased.

"What are you doing here so late?"

"Bobby was making a fuss about seeing Claire, and I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I’d drop by and see her."

Bobby had already impatiently squeezed past Miles Warren’s legs.

He shot into the living room like a little cannonball and joyfully threw himself into Claire Kendall’s arms.

"Fairy Princess!"

Claire Kendall caught him and settled him on the sofa, stroking his little head. "Good boy, Bobby."

Miles Warren stepped aside, and Louis Warren entered.

Claire Kendall stood up, offering an awkward but polite greeting. "Warren, please have a seat. I’ll go make you a cup of tea."

"Don’t trouble yourself," Louis Warren said, his eyes filled with meaning. "It was my fault for dropping in so suddenly and interrupting you."

Bobby, sprawled across Claire Kendall’s lap, looked up with his little face. "Fairy Princess, were you and my uncle making a baby?"

The question hung in the air, leaving Claire Kendall utterly speechless.

Miles Warren was equally dumbfounded.

Louis Warren pretended not to hear.

Miles Warren snatched Bobby up and set him down on the adjacent sofa. "Where’s your mom?"

Bobby’s lip trembled, and his eyes grew red, on the verge of tears.

"Mommy went abroad and hasn’t come back. She’s not even answering my calls."

Miles Warren frowned and looked at Louis Warren. "What’s going on?"

"Maya went abroad to negotiate an acquisition. Civil unrest suddenly broke out where she is. There’s fighting, communications are down... the situation is complicated."

Miles Warren’s expression darkened. "Have you sent people to get her?"

"They’re already on their way. She has bodyguards with her, so she should be fine."

Louis Warren’s gaze shifted, suddenly landing on Miles Warren’s wrist. ’Are those blessed prayer beads?’

He looked closer. ’They’re the blessed prayer beads from Viridell Temple!’

’His mother’s death had been a source of deep-seated pain for him for so many years. Now that Miles was wearing these beads of his own accord, could it mean he was finally letting go?’

Louis Warren’s voice trembled with excitement. "These beads... you..."

Miles Warren looked down, lightly stroking the beads with his fingertips. "Claire got them for me from Viridell Temple."

He paused. "From now on, I’ll come back to the family home for my birthday every year."

Hearing this, eighty-year-old Louis Warren’s eyes grew red. His lips trembled, and he looked at Claire Kendall as if she were his savior, lips moving but unable to form words.

With trembling hands, Louis Warren took a velvet box from his pocket. "A birthday present. It’s late."

Miles Warren took it and opened it. A brilliant, dazzling light immediately spilled out from within.

A Graff Hallucination watch.

Claire Kendall stared, not even blinking. The watch was rumored to be worth three hundred million and had previously only been seen in museums.

’The Warrens of Aethel... CEO novels are far too conservative in their portrayal of the rich.’

Seeing Claire Kendall’s curious gaze, Miles Warren closed the lid and stuffed the box right into her hands. To his father, he said, "I accept. Thank you."

"Huh?" Claire Kendall cradled the velvet box.

"It’s for you."

Claire Kendall’s eyes went wide.

"Excellent, excellent." Louis Warren was beaming. It didn’t matter who ended up with the gift; what mattered was that this was the first time Miles had ever accepted a birthday present from him.

He said earnestly, "Miles, you’re not getting any younger. It’s time to settle down."

"Once you settle down, I can hand over the family business to you in good faith. The family’s situation right now..."

Miles Warren remained unmoved. "I’m not interested in any of that."

"You’ll have a wife and kids to support. How can a doctor’s salary possibly be enough?"

He lazily lifted his gaze. "The dividends from the projects I’ve invested in with the Warren Group’s funds have already earned me more than enough."

Louis Warren was left speechless. Since he was a child, Miles Warren had displayed a preternatural talent for financial analysis. Nearly every project he invested in yielded massive profits.

’If it weren’t for his mother, the Warren Group would probably be even more prosperous today.’

’But now there was Claire Kendall. As long as the two of them got married, Miles would sooner or later quit being a doctor and return to the company.’

Miles Warren glanced at the clock on the wall, then gestured for them to leave. "It’s getting late. You should be heading back."

Bobby clung to Claire Kendall’s arm, refusing to let go.

"No! Mommy doesn’t want me anymore! Does Fairy Princess not want me either?"

The little guy’s mouth trembled, and he burst into tears.

The longing for his mother, pent up for so long, erupted in that moment.

Claire Kendall quickly picked him up, trying to soothe him. "Don’t cry, don’t cry. Fairy Princess is here. I’ll sleep with you tonight, how about that?"

Bobby blinked his teary eyes. "Really?"

She nodded emphatically, and the little one’s tears finally gave way to a smile.

Louis Warren got to his feet, leaning on his cane. "Then I’ll have to trouble you with Bobby. The driver will come to take him to kindergarten tomorrow."

The door closed. Miles Warren looked at the little boy and helplessly rubbed the space between his tightly knit brows.

Bobby had his back to them, squatting by the coffee table and using a toothpick to spear chunks of watermelon.

Seeing his cold expression, Claire Kendall nudged him gently with her elbow.

Miles Warren didn’t move, giving her a mournful look that clearly said, ’Why did you let him stay?’

Claire Kendall pursed her lips and leaned close to his ear.

"Dr. Warren, we’ll just put this on my tab for now~"
