He watched her eyes go wide in rage.
He never knew those beautiful blue eyes could get any bigger than they already were.
"Those are my own clothes you monster!" She snapped. "Give them to me."
He folded the clothes under his arm. "No one commands me missus. Since you have a sharp mouth and a perchance for being snappy and rude, then you might as well come get them yourself"
She looked like she was about to pop.
"Whhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaatttttt?" She drawled, her face fuming.
"If you want to get the clothes, then come get them." He repeated.
It felt good to put the little brat in her place.
A servant like her, perhaps someone lower, acting like she owned the whole pack.
He wanted to put her in her place.
Put her where she belonged.
So she knew that she was nobody.
His fists clenched in rage.
"Why you..... you.... You bastard!" She screamed at him.
The words hit him hard, but he stood resilient. "Say your worst, do your worst. I will not give you them."
She began hurling all sorts of insults at him.
Shaming his manhood.
Insulting his family.
Anyone who thought he was handsome.
Bringing him down.
Even insulting his hair calling it a wig.
She said it all.
Ranting and screaming and yet he did not move an inch.
Once she realised that he wasn’t budging she went mute.
He could see her breathing so heavily, he was surprised that her boiling point hadn’t turned the water into a steaming lake.
And then he remembered something.
How she had healed the bird.
He had been so baffled about that.
Wolves weren’t allowed to use magic.
Mages and witches were banned from operation.
Excluded from society. They were haunted down, if they were caught.
Gotten to the point where magic was almost nonexistent.
Extinct.
Those who practised it, still did in secret.
But to the unlucky few who were caught, the result was death.
Instant execution.
And yet he had seen her heal that bird just by the touch of her hand.
Seeing the dead creature that had gone limb, dead and lifelessness.
It had still had one of his hunting arrows stuck in its body.
The dried blood washed over its feathery chest.
Dead.
He was sure of it.
And yet, just a few seconds after she had held unto the bird, it sprung back to life.
Its ugly claws had kicked and then its eyes fluttered.
As a wolf he could sense any thing alive within a reasonable distance.
The moment the bird had come to live he had known.
And that was why he was certain she had revived him because it had been dead.
How the hell could she explain that?
He watched her breathing heavily.
"Give me an answer and then I’ll give you your rags." He said carelessly.
Just the mere fact that he stood there holding peasants clothes infuriated him.
Everyone did as they were told.
All except for her.
She was baiting him, challenging him.
And he wasn’t pleased.
He had to teach her a lesson.

RUBY’S POV
I stood there in the middle of the pool, breathing heavily in fury and rage.
I watched as he waved my clothes at me.
As if to say, come get it if you can.
I was burning in anger.
I hated this man!
With every fiber in me.
"Give me back my clothes!" I commanded.
What had I gotten myself into?
I had been going for naked swims.
Never for once in my life had I been interrupted by anyone.
It had to be this stuck up fool!
Sure enough he said. "These rags?"
He looked at my clothes with a hint of sarcasm and chuckled meanly.
Those were clothes I had made by myself.
So hearing him call them ’Rags’ infuriated me beyond words.
"Fine!" I snapped almost exposing my nakedness. I quickly remained put. "Give me my rags."
He laughed.
"You poor unfortunate girl." He said. "Look at you. Nothing. A nobody and yet you have been prancing about as though you rule the world. You thought you could assault me, insult me and get away with it."
I chewed on my bottom lip as the cool breeze whistled.
The bright moon shown in the night sky and I knew that if I didn’t get out of here as soon as possible my mother was going to finally throttle me.
"Do you have any idea who I am?" He demanded.
I rolled my eyes. "Do I look like I care? Give me my clothes!"
"Rag." He corrected.
I chewed so hard on my bottom lip it bled.
"Fine! My rags! Give me!" I snapped extending my hand without exposing my nudity.
"I will." He said and relief washed over me. "Only if you tell me how you healed that bird."
I blinked at him.
"I have no idea ob what you are talking about." I managed a firm voice.
Why wouldn’t he let it go already.
"Ah ah ah." He waved his hand. "You do. I’ve been at pack wars. I’ve seen things you would never dream of. I know what I saw. You healed that bird. You used magic."
I looked at him and then burst out into a shrill laugh.
I laughed so hard my tummy began to ache.
My laugh sang through the forests interrupting the chirping of the grasshoppers.
When I was done laughing, I looked at him. "Oh my goodness. You’re more stupid than I thought. Magic? You think I can use magic?"
"I know what I saw." He insisted.
I yawned, bored. "Well you must truly be crazy. Magic is literally a myth. There is no such thing as that. Now give me my clothes!"
He was fuming now.
A frown stamped on his handsome face and then he smirked.
"You know what? If you want them, come and get them." He said as he extended his hands holding my clothes.
I glared at him. "Don’t you even dare."
He rose a cocked brow.
The sick bastard that he was!
I was stuck in the water, naked, while my mother raced to heal Bale.
I decided to shock myself.
I who had never for once stood naked before a man, rose up from the lake, the water droplets falling back into the lake.
His eyes gawked in disbelief as I emerged naked.
