BALE’S POV
He slowly opened his eyes, and it all seemed to be hazy and foggy.
Not so clear.
"Hello Bale." He thought he heard a female voice say.
But he wasn’t so sure if it was just his imagination.
So he had to squint and look clearly, before his gaze slowly became clearer.
And what he thought he had been imagining, seeing in a dream was right before him.
The most beautiful girl he had ever set his eyes on.
He had seen her in the early hours of the morning in the forest.
So radiant and he had dreamt he had seen her while the pack walls shook.
Except she had looked different then.
It was as though she had radiated a bright energy that didn’t exist.
As though she had a halo over her head.
It was like nothing he had ever witnessed.
"Is this a dream?" He asked slowly.
She gave a radiant smile that highlighted her beautiful white teeth. "Fortunately not."
And then she chuckled softly.
He saw her slowly reach over to his forehead and then withdrew her hand almost immediately.
Her hands never made impact.
She looked disturbed for a split second but it was gone just as soon as it had come.
If he hadn’t seen it the minute it appeared, he would have never seen it.
She smiled at him. "How are you feeling?"
Now his view was much clearer.
In fact he could see as normal.
It was her.
Truly her.
The girl from the forest.
The most beautiful girl he had ever set eyes on.
He was so fascinated he had no idea his lips were a little agape until she rose a brow and had a cocky smile.
"Helloooo." She said.
He quickly snapped back to reality, ashamed of himself.
"Oh uhmm... er..." He slowly attempted to sit up in bed.
She quickly told him. "Hey, take it easy."
She didn’t attempt to help him, but she insisted. "How do you feel?"
He paused for a moment and finally thought about it.
He felt so much relief.
There was barely any much pain.
"I feel great." He said his eyes elated. "I feel amazing. I haven’t felt so good in a long time."
She looked at him closely. "No pain anywhere? Your head. Sore feeling? Nothing."
For all the times that he had fallen ill he had almost always recovered slowly in pain.
This was the first time he felt almost no pain.
He shook his head. "No. None."
It was then she reached out to touch his forehead.
He blushed.
"You don’t have a fever anymore." She said as she chewed on her bottom lip.
Didn’t she realize the emotional shift and authority she had on people?
He looked down at his hands to avoid embarrassing himself anymore.
"Your legs would feel weak later." She stated as she turned behind to pick up something.
"I don’t feel anything." He insisted.
She turned back to him, a tiny bottle in her palm.
"You will." She insisted.
She shook the bottle and just as she did, her soft breasts over her dress moved in rhythm.
He felt himself go red again and he quickly turned his face away.
She caught his chin and pulled him to look at her.
He was shocked wondering what she wanted to do.
Instead of anything spectacular that would make his heart stop, she said. "Open."
He opened his lips to ask a what?"
She immediately poured a drop of the content of the bottle in his mouth.
He closed his eyes and groaned.
It was disgusting and bitter.
He set the back of his hands against his lips as he looked at her in horror.
"What is that?" He asked traumatized.
He had never tasted anything so bitter in his entire life.
"It’s a mix of ingredients that you probably don’t want to know. But it will make you feel better afterwards." She noted.
He squeezed his face and she chuckled softly as she replaced the cover of the bottle.
Everything she did, was so Angelic.
So perfect.
So unique.
So divine.
He looked at her as she did her work absentminded.
She had on a very cheap and simple dress.
He knew from the fabrics that she was from a peasant family.
He had seen girls from high ranking wolf families to know better.
Her red hair that was supposed to be combed down straight and held in a delicate ribbon or neatly arranged with pearls and other rare stones was instead let to roam free.
Her name Ruby, fit her.
Vibrant bright and red.
He had assumed only members of the royal family had red curls.
Well it seemed he was wrong.
The wildest and brightest red curls he had ever seen.
He wanted to reach out and touch to her.
But he knew how creepy that would be so he kept his hands to himself.
She probably didn’t have any formal education.
Did she even know how to read and write and yet, she carried more aura than any of the girls he had met.
How could someone so simple and modest, be so intimidating?
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" She asked him a tight and pleasant smile on her face.
He sighed heavily to himself and itched the back of his head.
She tilted her head to side and looked at him comically.
"I was told you had an epileptic shock." She remarked.
He felt shame overwhelm him.
She was going to see him and take him for nothing but an absolute loser if she knew all about him.
He squirmed his fingers together, uneasy.
At that very moment, the doors were pushed open.
He didn’t need to see, he knew.
His wolf already informed him.
Their telepathy spoke to him, connecting the bond that stood.
The heavy boots that never missed a step approached and none other than his handsome and perfect twin brother Aiden appeared before them.
