Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Photograph

Luna Dawson glanced at the price list, clicking her tongue in astonishment. "A pack of instant noodles actually costs twenty points. Food really holds its value in the apocalypse!"

Aaron Palmer leaned over to take a look as well. "A winter coat is six hundred points? One piece of clothing could feed a whole family for ages!"

The four of them browsed as they walked. Luna was dazzled by the variety of goods, but she didn’t really want to buy anything. Her space had absolutely everything, and the three men beside her were purely keeping her company on this stroll. After all, she had never let them fall short on food, clothing, or daily necessities.

After walking around for a bit, the group took the escalator on the other side back to the first floor.

"Holy crap! There’s actually a milk tea shop?!" Luna’s eyes lit up as she pointed at a storefront not far away.

Miles Dawson was equally shocked. "Sis, they’re actually selling milk tea in the dead of winter during the apocalypse! I want some!"

Luna waved her hand generously. "Let’s buy some! I want to taste what apocalyptic milk tea is like too!"

Taking a look at the menu, she found that ingredients were indeed scarce. They only offered black tea, green tea, and floral tea bases. Cheese foam, milk caps, tapioca pearls, sweetened red beans, and other toppings were completely nonexistent. But even for such a basic cup, it cost two hundred points.

Kevin Keane frowned. "Didn’t you collect a ton of instant milk tea in your space?"

Luna smiled. "These two are just kids. They want to experience what it’s like outside."

As soon as she spoke, Aaron and Miles were already standing happily at the cash register, picking out their flavors.

Kevin raised an eyebrow and looked at Luna. "You don’t want to experience it?"

"I do. Do you want one?"

"Yes."

In the end, Luna and Kevin each ordered a cup of jasmine green milk tea, while Aaron and Miles opted for the signature Hong Kong-style milk tea. The three men simultaneously lowered their heads and stared eagerly at Luna.

She froze for a moment before stepping forward to swipe her card and pay the bill. She figured she would have to take some unused items to the Sixth District to exchange for points another day; the whole family couldn’t just wait around to rely on her card forever.

The four of them spent eight hundred points in one go. Passersby merely watched, as no one else dared to be so extravagant. Only Luna and her group had the luxury of being rich and capricious.

The group sipped their milk tea as they headed back to the exchange center. The tea had a rich, mellow taste and wasn’t too sweet. Luna found it just right and not cloying at all. After a short wait, they successfully received five Third-order Crystal Cores. The group retrieved their car and headed straight home.

After dinner, Luna returned to her room as usual and entered her space.

Inside, the temperature was as comfortable as ever. Every time she came in, she could smell the fresh scent of grassy meadows in the air. She sensed that the little ones were still playing on the other side of the mountain.

Feeling at ease, she headed to the miscellaneous storage area. With a thought, she teleported directly to the foot of the mountain. This was a newly expanded area of her space where she had placed everything she collected from the hospital. Using her mind to manipulate the items, it took her over an hour to sort everything into different zones.

The haul from the international hospital was truly massive. For a small family, exchanging all this for points would be enough to sustain them for over a decade!

Luna felt like she had occasional obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Sometimes she wouldn’t do any chores, leaving her supplies in an absolute mess. But once her industrious side kicked in, she simply couldn’t stop working until everything was perfectly organized. Right now, she clearly just wanted to lie on the couch, binge-watch some shows, and eat snacks. But since she had already organized this area, she figured she might as well tidy up the livestock breeding zone, the plantation, and the fresh produce section too.

An unknown amount of time passed before she finally collapsed onto the couch. Looking at the countless fruits and vegetables in the fresh produce section, she felt that the crops and grains she hoarded before the apocalypse were like a joke. Now, just the meat, eggs, and milk produced within her space were piling up into mountains. It was sheer overcapacity!

The chickens, ducks, geese, cows, horses, and sheep in the breeding zone were all plump and sturdy. Other than slaughtering a few birds and sheep, the rest hadn’t lost a single hair. She wondered if the meat would get tough if she just kept raising them like this.

Now, her biggest regret was raising rabbits. No one had ever told her they could breed this fast! They were hopping all over the mountains and plains, leaving rabbit holes everywhere. When she went over to check the yield previously, it felt like walking into a border minefield; she had twisted her ankle after just a few steps.

Rollo loved running over to tease those rabbits. It wasn’t so bad now that it had reached the Fourth Rank and could fly, but before, it would limp out with a busted leg every few days to seek treatment from Rhonda Dawson. Rollo had actually contributed more than half of the experience points needed to level up Rhonda’s Healing Ability.

After taking a shower, Luna summoned Little Tiger and Rollo back. Only then did she fall into a deep sleep, hugging the two furry creatures.

Her dreams were filled with Rollo and Little Tiger carrying piles of Crystal Cores back to her. She couldn’t climb out of the ocean of Crystal Cores and nearly suffocated, waking up gasping for air.

It turned out that Little Tiger was lying on her face, its chubby belly burying her so tightly that no air could get through.

She pushed Little Tiger away. "Are you trying to murder me...?" she mumbled groggily, scooping up its soft little body and rubbing it affectionately against her chest.

Little Tiger purred obediently, letting her squish it however she pleased. Sensing that Luna was awake, Rollo enthusiastically wiggled over and whimpered as it licked her cheeks, fully waking her up.

Looking at the clock by the bed, she saw she had actually slept for eleven hours. She really was a heavy sleeper.

She obediently got out of bed, washed up, ate a meal, and binged two hours of a TV show. Seeing the sweet photos of the male and female leads reminded her that she still hadn’t printed out Susan Vaughn’s photos. She hurriedly grabbed her printer and camera. After a flurry of rapid clicks and adjustments, tens of thousands of intimate photos—featuring holding hands, leaning closely against each other, and forehead kisses—fluttered down onto the floor.

Luna looked at her masterpiece and nodded in utter satisfaction.

Now that she had enough Crystal Cores, the supply of Crystal Core Solutions and spirit spring water in the refrigerator on the first floor of the villa had never run dry. Future upgrades would depend on everyone’s talent and hard work; all she had to do was ensure that no one’s supply of Crystal Cores ever stopped.

Every day upon entering her space, the most important task was to carry a bucket of water and thoroughly irrigate the Bodhi Tree. The Bodhi Tree had now grown to be over five meters tall. Its lush branches and leaves stretched outward, interweaving in overlapping layers like an unfurled, emerald-green umbrella. Every single leaf was lustrous and glowing.

Seeing the Bodhi Tree looking so vibrant and leafy brought joy to Luna’s heart, and the corners of her lips curled up unconsciously.

"Just keep growing strong like this," she murmured softly. "Only when you’re doing well can my space and I do even better."

Once everything was taken care of, Luna desperately began using her spiritual power to "scratch" watermelon rinds as a form of cultivation. She silently lamented that her spiritual threads hadn’t yet reached the level of directly killing zombies. At most, she could barely control mindless zombies below the Second Order.

Recalling the scene of running into Susan Vaughn the other day, a greater sense of urgency filled her heart. She had to get stronger so she could be absolutely certain about throwing that damn woman to the zombies.

At noon the next day, Wayne Dawson made everyone Northeastern-style rice wraps. There were mashed potatoes with braised eggplant, egg sauce, meat sauce, ham sausages, large chicken cutlets, pan-fried steaks, and a whole basket of fresh vegetables. Simmering on the side were two pots of sweet and rich coconut chicken soup, as well as two pots of tart and savory seafood dregs-vinegar hot pot. The broths boiled with fine foam—BUBBLE BUBBLE—the heat controlled to absolute perfection.

Everyone used lettuce and cabbage leaves to wrap their custom-mixed rice. Aaron and Miles wolfed down a wrap in just two bites, exclaiming in delight at how delicious it was. Blake Blue and Kevin were also mesmerized by the culinary bliss, relentlessly devouring their food without making a sound.

Just then, Lynn Shelby and Evan Olson, who had gone out early in the morning, returned. They definitely needed to go out and take a look around. The base was changing with each passing day, and failing to stay updated meant missing out on a lot of crucial information.

After washing his hands, Evan sat down next to his grandfather and happily accepted a large rice wrap that the old man had just finished making for him.

What Luna didn’t expect was that the two of them would bring her a piece of good news the moment they walked in.
