The Boys: Viltrumite Bloodline Panel

Chapter 105: Bringing Soldier Boy back to Vought!

I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.

He propped himself up against the ground, struggling as he tried to crawl back up.

Whoosh!

A figure appeared out of thin air, and Hillel looked down at him with his hands behind his back.

"Now I’m the one behind! Suck-foot boy!"

Soldier Boy swayed a few times, staring at the young man in front of him who seemed to have teleported.

Flight, super strength, ultra-strong defense, teleportation...

Is Vought out of its mind?!

How did they end up with such a powerful Supe?

"Fuck you..."

Soldier Boy squeezed two words out through his teeth.

"Fuck you, too!!" Hillel raised his middle finger at him.

"Benjamin, your face is full of stories, but I don’t believe you’re really resigned to dying just like this." Hillel lifted him up from the ground.

"Get lost! I don’t want to fly!!"

Soldier Boy wore a look of utter resistance.

He had super strength, so naturally he could spring into action, but he didn’t like doing it this way.

"Wait, you aren’t afraid of heights, are you?!" Hillel acted as if he had discovered some secret.

"Shut your stinking mouth!"

Soldier Boy’s defenses cracked.

"Yo-yo-yo, getting anxious? Don’t tell me I hit the nail on the head!!"

Hillel wore a bad smile. "As a dignified older-generation veteran superhero, you’re actually fucking afraid of heights? Don’t tell me you suffered some psychological trauma, which is why you refuse to use super-jumping? The excuse of insufficient funding is way too lame!"

Soldier Boy refused to answer.

"Tsk tsk, last century on screen, you portrayed a tough guy, yet inside you’re still just a little boy full of fear!"

"No wonder you’re called Soldier Boy instead of Captain America. A grown-ass grandpa calling himself ’Boy’.. and you debuted in your 30’s too. Bahaha, and you are calling out people with capes?"

"Your immaturity, your fear, your resentment all stem from your past dysfunctional family. You crave validation, but no one ever gave your efforts a thumbs-up."

"You took out your anger on your peers, bullying, humiliating, treating them like dirt..."

Soldier Boy looked unnatural. He wanted to retort, but Hillel was pinching his neck, rendering his vocal cords unable to produce sound.

"You were sold to the Russians, right? For these past decades, you were treated as a test subject and suffered quite a bit of hardship. Your body’s defense is indeed stronger than many Supes!"

"And it’s not just your outer defense; your internal organs are also quite resilient, even immune to all poisons. Aside from not being able to fly, you’re basically a land turtle."

"If you ask me, since you’re back, you should just stay quiet... how could you still go looking for people to take revenge on?"

"You fucking deserved it!"

Hillel felt not a shred of sympathy.

Soldier Boy began to struggle, but Hillel still sneered. "You think you’re a victim? Don’t make me laugh!"

"If it were me, you would have been thrown into the Sun and burned to ashes long ago, and you wouldn’t have lived to see the day you were sold to the Russians!"

"You think you’re some kind of tragic hero?"

"Bah!"

"You’re just a good-for-nothing trash without an ounce of responsibility!"

"When all is said and done..." Hillel wore a look of disdain. "You’re just a big bully draped in a hero’s cloak. The essential difference between you and Homelander is that you know what you’re doing!"

"As for Homelander... he’s genuinely sick in the head."

Soldier Boy’s mental defense completely collapsed.

This speech practically exposed everything about him down to his core.

For decades, he had kept his hatred deep in his heart, barely surviving torture after torture.

Yet this brat actually attacked his soft underbelly from a psychological standpoint?

Bully!

When I was fighting for the country, your ancestors were still laying railroad tracks, you know?

...

Wtf!

Is this guy an M?

How come Soldier Boy’s favorability increases even when he gets cursed at?!

Did he travel into The Boys World, or is there some kind of weird S&M deja vu going on here?

From Soldier Boy’s perspective, everything was very simple. Having lived for a century and seen many people, he looked down completely on those who sucked up to him.

Those who feared him or even stabbed him in the back deserved to be beaten.

Without exception, those people were cowards among cowards.

But the guy in front of him was different.

The other party possessed overwhelming strength, dared to speak the truth, and didn’t indulge him at all.

Clearly, The Guardian could crush him to death, yet he sat there and reasoned the logic out with him.

Fuck!

This fucking guy...

This fucking guy was a real man!

Soldier Boy belonged to the old-school tough guys... no, he admired old-school tough guys and purposely imitated that style, so deep down in his bones he only respected one kind of person.

A man who was stronger, fiercer, and gutsier than him!

"You brat..."

Soldier Boy parted his mouth, revealing a bloody smile.

"Your mouth is really fucking stinky!"

"Stinkier than mine back in the day!"

Hillel raised an eyebrow.

"Right back at you."

"Alright, enough nonsense." Hillel let go of Soldier Boy. "The terms I gave you still stand. Work for me, and I’ll let you taste glory once more. By the way... I know where all your old teammates are!"

Soldier Boy’s breathing grew rapid.

"Whether you want revenge or not, I couldn’t be bothered to care. Anyway, trash like you guys back then killed plenty of innocents, so dying wouldn’t be a pity."

"But I also have someone you’re very interested in. Clara, sound familiar?"

"Your old flame from back in the day."

Soldier Boy’s pupils instantly contracted.

"She’s living quite comfortably now!"

Hillel watched his reaction. "Your old lover latched onto a young Aryan, a blue-eyed, blonde Superman!"

"That woman can’t wait to hold him in the palm of her hand, and the two of them are sticky together every day. They’ve long since forgotten all about you, a guy rotting away in a Russian cellar!"

"Don’t you find that infuriating?"

"I’m even getting angry on your behalf, boy!"

Soldier Boy clenched his hands tightly, his bones making a teeth-gritting sound.

Hillel didn’t tell Soldier Boy that Homelander was his son; that would make things a lot more interesting.

Two generations of father and son were about to put on a grand show over the exact same woman.

He was definitely going to bring a bucket of popcorn to watch the show.

Doesn’t Homelander love pulling little tricks?

Give him a little taste of a father’s shock!

Hillel brought Soldier Boy back to Vought.

This matter caused quite a stir within Vought’s upper-management circles.

Edgar let out a sigh.

What else could he do? Just coax him along!

"Guardian, do you mean to say that after Soldier Boy was sold by us to the Russians, he actually developed a new skill capable of erasing a Supe’s powers?"

"Correct!"

"Don’t you think if Homelander finds out about this, it’ll cause trouble?"

"Him? Do you want to take a punch from me to test compatibility?!"

Hillel looked completely unconcerned.

"Even leaving Homelander aside, Soldier Boy returning to The Seven? Isn’t this a bit too absurd!" Edgar said.

"Just a few days ago, Soldier Boy dropped a big one on the streets for the public, and now you’re recruiting him back in?"

Hillel waved his hand. "I didn’t recruit him, you did, brilliant Edgar!"

Edgar: "..."
