"That’s settled."
Hillel crossed his legs and unilaterally made the decision.
Vought is no longer Edgar’s Vought, nor is it the board’s Vought, but The Guardian’s Vought.
If he wanted to start his own company and set up a new facade, those veterans could build him a skyscraper overnight.
Being a second slow would be considered disrespectful to God.
"Let Soldier Boy join The Seven to just fill the vacancy left by The Deep. If The Seven doesn’t have seven people, what’s the point of calling it The Seven!"
"For external publicity, just say he was controlled by the Russians... then returned to the right path. Anyway, America is used to splashing dirty water on the old Russians, one more time won’t hurt."
Edgar: "..."
"The board won’t agree to that."
Hillel stood up. "You actually reminded me! There won’t be a board in the future. Those old-pasts should retire. Be decent and know what’s up!"
Edgar hesitated slightly. "Doing this... won’t it hurt them too much?"
"What the hell are you talking about!" Hillel’s expression was calm. "Give some respect to their reputation and call them a board of directors; don’t respect them and plant them all in the dirt, understand? I have plenty of means!"
Edgar crossed his hands, pondering whether he should just step down.
Vought’s ship definitely won’t sink.
After all, as long as Hillel is alive, and those old money are alive, Vought will be the most solid cornerstone.
And his way of thinking can no longer keep up with young people.
"Fine, but don’t dump all the dirty water on my head. Let Homelander take the blame," Edgar said.
Hillel nodded. "That’s fine too, whatever."
"Are you taking revenge on Stormfront?" Edgar asked at last.
"Heh!"
"Revenge?"
"I’m just playing. A madam that can be beaten to death with a single finger, who would take such an ant to heart."
"Fine."
Edgar had nothing more to say.
He didn’t know what methods Hillel used to conquer the old money.
But the current Hillel indeed perfectly crushed Stormfront in terms of power and connections... No, Stormfront at best counts as a mosquito.
Using nuclear weapons to hit a mosquito.
It’s indeed a bit laughable.
...
Soldier Boy’s return became the focus of the entire America.
Ashley began to exert her influence, personally overseeing the PR, making the first-generation hero look like a cross-era king’s return, stirring up the topic immensely.
Overnight, the veteran’s face, full of vicissitudes and hormones, plastered every billboard in New York.
This is what the power of money is!
Countless love-starved men and women went crazy for it.
The real good show hasn’t started yet.
Soldier Boy’s first meeting with The Seven is when the real good show begins.
In the conference room.
Soldier Boy sat down imposingly.
Stormfront’s hand holding the coffee was trembling.
"Ben... Benjamin?"
"Hmm, Clara."
Soldier Boy pretended not to care and responded calmly.
"Long time no see, decades have passed, you’ve been living... quite comfortably. Aren’t you going to introduce your new lover?"
Perspective shifts to Homelander.
Homelander was displeased.
Very displeased!
Although he looked down on Stormfront, thinking her perspective was too narrow and she was just a bouncing trash.
At least this woman orbited around him.
Now his simpering dog was actually attracted away by an old immortal!
What blonde Aryan Superman!
As long as it’s a man, you accept anyone, huh!
Homelander didn’t know the past between Stormfront and Soldier Boy; he only heard Stormfront’s chaotic heartbeat, extremely excited.
"I say, Soldier Boy, we are having a meeting, you’d better focus!" Homelander spoke with a fake smile.
"If you guys want to catch up, wait until the meeting is over and chat slowly at the nursing home!"
Soldier Boy slowly turned his head, his gaze landing on his cape. "Nursing home? Kid, when I was an America hero, you were fucking still a tadpole!"
"Is your mouth itching?"
"Why don’t you put a layer under your knees and kneel down for me!!"
Hillel raised an eyebrow.
Smack!
Homelander slammed the table, two red lights lighting up in his eyes.
"Old thing, do you know who I am?"
"I am the strongest Supe in all of America! I am not like you first-generation defective products, I am more perfect, more superior, stronger, faster, better! I am the true hero!!"
Soldier Boy also stood up, the armor on his chest beginning to glow.
"Strongest? Kid, your cape is even fucking clumsier, I can press you to death with my pinky!"
"When your dad gave birth to you, he should have smeared you on the wall!"
"If I had a son like you, I’d find a place to commit suicide out of shame!"
The two were tit-for-tat, the air filled with the smell of gunpowder, almost explosive.
The Great Huffing Era has arrived!
Soldier Boy and Homelander huffed at each other.
Maeve and Starlight leaned closer to Hillel. If a real fight broke out, Hillel’s side would definitely be safe; he has a powerful Bio-field.
Black Noir didn’t dare to move.
He didn’t even dare to raise his head.
Stormfront was even more like sitting on pins and needles, her previous arrogance completely vanished.
Awesome!
So fucking awesome!
These two idiots still don’t know each other’s identity, both attacking each other, flapping their little mouths like they’re smeared with honey.
Homelander even spat out a few swear words.
In the end, Edgar personally appeared, forcibly intervening and suppressing the conflict.
"You’re old, Edgar!" Soldier Boy looked at Edgar.
"Yeah, back then because of a cup of hot cola, you threw a temper tantrum and called me. Your hot temper is just as usual now."
Edgar turned and left after speaking.
Soldier Boy looked at Hillel, only to see Hillel raise an eyebrow.
"Brother, I really stand with you on this matter. Anyone who dares to serve me hot cola, I beat up everyone I see!"
Soldier Boy grinned.
...
That afternoon.
Homelander found Hillel alone.
"Guardian!!"
"Why did you bring that old bastard back to Vought?"
Hillel flatly denied. "Edgar agreed to it, it has nothing to do with me, go ask him."
"Bullshit!" Homelander smashed the wall with a punch. "In this World, besides you, no one can bring Soldier Boy back. Do you take me for a fool?"
"Yo-ho, John, you only look like a man right now!"
Hillel nodded.
Homelander has grown some spine.
"Don’t you even consider that he will threaten our status?"
Hillel leisurely put down a piece of pizza, washing it down with iced Dr Pepper. "Threaten my status? John, when you and Stormfront were pulling petty tricks back then, did I ever care?"
"No matter who comes, my status is as solid as a mountain!"
"Soldier Boy, or Stormfront, who cares?"
Homelander anxiously said, "But I heard Soldier Boy has acquired some kind of new superpower that can turn Supes back into ordinary people!"
"Right, otherwise why invite him back? This is simply a match made in heaven with the nature of my mission!"
Hillel had a completely normal expression.
"You should kill him, otherwise he will bite back sooner or later!" Seeing that tough tactics wouldn’t work, Homelander could only instigate.
Hillel laughed. "When it comes to backstabbing... heh, you are the number one! And John, I don’t like others teaching me how to do things, understand?"
Homelander subconsciously took half a step back.
He felt that he was always living in Hillel’s shadow.
