Kate’s Point of View

"We are happy to know that you feel that way, Princess." I turned to see Ethan and Nathan standing behind me with smiles on their faces.

"Um, what are you doing here?" I asked. I was sure I was as red as a tomato from embarrassment.

"We came to see you, of course," Ethan said

"We were wondering if you would like to have lunch with us?" Nathan added

"Oh, sure," I said, and then I looked at my friends. "I will see you later," I said

"Bye," Rose said

"Derek and Keith are on their way here," Ethan said to Ebony and Rose as I stood up from my seat.

"I am the only one without a mate," Kayla sighed.

On our way to the car, we ran into Derek. "Hey, sis. Hello, Ethan and Nathan," Derek said

"Hello, Derek," Ethan and Nathan said at the same time.

"Hey," I replied

"Are you going out for lunch?" Derek asked

"Yeah," I said

"Okay, make sure she isn’t late. They are still doing finals," Derek said

"We know," Ethan said. I could tell they were annoyed because Derek told them to make sure I got back to school on time, but I was happy that Nathan didn’t lose his temper and say something rude to Derek.

We walked to the car, and Nathan held the passenger side door open for me to sit in, and then he got in the driver’s side while Ethan got in the back. One thing I noticed was that they took turns sitting next to me in the car whenever we went somewhere.

"How about we go somewhere quiet to eat lunch? We brought sandwiches, chips, and fruit," Ethan said

"That sounds good. The school decided to give us an hour break since we have been testing all day," I said

"That’s good," Nathan said as he drove us to the beach. We got out of the car and sat at a table. Ethan and Nathan took the baskets of food, and I grabbed two bags that had plates, cups, and juice inside. We sat at one of the tables.

We all took a plate, and I put a sandwich, chips, and some fruit on it. Nathan poured me a cup of juice.

"So how has your day been going?" I asked

"It’s been fine," Nathan said

"Yeah, just dealing with pack stuff," Ethan added.

After eating, we went for a walk on the sand, then they took me back to school. The rest of school went by slowly. I missed Ethan and Nathan so much. It was so hard to focus.

The bond became stronger every day. I wanted them more and more every day. I could tell they wanted me to, but they meant it when they said they weren’t going to do anything with me sexually until I was eighteen.

It showed me how much they cared about me, but it also annoyed me that they were so much in control. Sometimes I wondered if they wished someone like Monica was their fated mate. She was experienced and had been with plenty of men, including Nathan. That thought made me feel a pain in my chest. I hated that they had been with other women.

"Kate, Kate." I looked up to see Ebony staring at me.

"Huh?" I asked

"Did you hear anything I said?" Ebony asked

"No, I am sorry," I said

"It’s okay. Are you alright? I can tell you have something on your mind. Does it have something to do with Ethan and Nathan?" Ebony asked, and I sighed

"Yeah. I can’t stop wondering if they are unhappy that I am their mate," I said

"What? Of course they are not unhappy. You said they treat you well. You know they are happy that you are their fated mate, Kate. What made you think that?" Ebony asked

"They won’t touch me. You know, sexually. They meant it when they said they were going to wait until I turn eighteen," I said

"Isn’t that a good thing? They are doing it for you. I am sure it is taking all of their control to wait," Ebony said

"That’s the thing. We are mates, and aren’t they supposed to lose control when it comes to me? I want them to want me," I said

"I think it is because they care about you that they are waiting," Ebony said

"I don’t know. Maybe they think I am not experienced enough," I said, and at that moment Ebony looked behind me.

I turned to look at what she was looking at and saw Ethan and Nathan walking toward us. We had just finished cheer practice and were sitting outside. I blushed, wondering if they had heard what Ebony and I had been talking about.
