Kate’s Point of View

"Kate, I wanted to apologize to you for the way I spoke to you earlier. I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have said those things to you. I feel terrible for saying them to you. I want you to know that I was just angry, and I didn’t mean it. I was also worried when Ethan and I came back, and you weren’t here. I didn’t know where you were until the maid told me. You have no idea how worried that made me."

"I get that you say you were worried and upset, but that doesn’t give you the right to talk to me the way you did," I said

"I know. I really didn’t mean it," Nathan replied

"All my life, everyone called me entitled and said that I got everything because of my dad. They act like I don’t work hard. It never really got to me, but hearing those words come out of your mouth. They hurt. You are supposed to be my mate, and you see me as an entitled..."

"I don’t. I promise I don’t really believe that. I was just being stupid. I promise I won’t let my emotions get to me like that again. I won’t hurt you like that again," Nathan said. I looked into his eyes and saw that he meant it.

"Okay, I will let it go this time," I said, and Nathan smiled.

"Thank you, Love," Nathan said

"But I am still upset with you," I added.

"I know," Nathan said, and then he hugged me. "Thank you, Love."

Two Weeks Later

"Are you ready for your finals, Princess?" Ethan asked. School was only a month away from being over, and my birthday was coming in two days. I would finally be eighteen.

"Yeah," I said. We were sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast. I picked up a piece of bacon and bit it.

"I am sure you will do great, Love," Nathan said as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Me too," Ethan added.

"Suddenly, my phone started to ring. I looked at the screen to see my mom was calling.

"Hey, Mom," I said

"Hi, Honey. I wanted to make sure you were up and ready for the finals," My mom said

"I am eating breakfast right now," I replied

"Great! So, your father and I wanted to take you out to breakfast on Saturday for your birthday," My mom said

"Okay, that sounds good," I replied

"Great! Well, I will let you go. We miss and love you," My mom said

"I love you too," I replied

"Love you, sweetheart," My dad said in the background.

"I love you too," I replied, and we ended the call.

"Your parents want to take you to breakfast on your birthday," Nathan said

"Yeah," I said, and Nathan nodded.

"So, is there anything you would like to do for your birthday, Princess?" Ethan asked

"Well, I usually have a party," I replied

"How about we throw a party here on Saturday for your birthday? You can invite everyone you want. Your family and friends can come. It will be the first celebration you have here?" Nathan said

"That sounds like a good idea. What do you say, Princess?" Ethan asked

"That sounds nice," I said

"Good, then it is settled," Ethan said, and I smiled.

After breakfast, I drove myself to school. Ethan and Nathan had to take care of some pack business. The guards they assigned to me followed me to school. I was used to having guards. Being an Alpha’s daughter made me a target for my dad’s enemies. So, I always had pack guards guarding me.

"Hey," I said to Rose as I walked into the classroom.

"Hey," Rose replied. The teacher walked into the room, and we started testing. I was happy when it was time for lunch. We had been testing for the first half of the day.

"Thank the Goddess it is time for lunch. I am tired of answering questions," I said, and Rose laughed.

"ME too," Rose replied

"Oh, Ethan and Nathan are throwing me a birthday party on Friday," I said

"Okay, I will be there," Rose said.

"Hey," Kayla said as she and Ebony walked over to where Rose and I were standing.

"Hey," Rose and I said at the same time.

"What are you talking about?" Ebony asked

"Ethan and Nathan are throwing her a birthday party," Rose said

"Really?" Kayla said

"Yep, and both of you have to be there," I said

"You know we will," Ebony said

"Yeah," Kayla added. We decided to go outside and eat. We sat at a table by a tree.

"So, how have things been between Ethan Nathan and you?" Ebony asked

"Things have been going good," I replied. Ever since Nathan apologized to me for the things he said that night at the Lake he hadn’t said anything rude to me again. He was actually being sweet.

I saw the way he was with everyone else and it made my heart flutter knowing that his sweet side was only for me.

"I still can’t believe that you are the Red Alphas’s mate. They seem so... scary," Kayla said

"They are not what everyone says they are. They do have a temper, but they care about their pack. They are great Alphas, and they are really good to me," I said with a smile

"We are happy to know that you feel that way, Princess."
