Mark’s POV
Mark was an intelligent man, as a result of that he considered himself an expert on various topics. Making money and sports being the top two that he excelled at.
But, being the intelligent man that he was. He was smart enough to admit that there was one topic that Mark would never even dare to think he understood no matter how much exposure he got to it, and that topic was...women.
As beautiful as they were, woman were the one topic that left many a man absolutely stumped, not knowing how to make heads or tails of a situation that should have been simple.
When a woman said that she was ’fine’ either she truly was fine or things were not fine at all and a poor guy was in a world of trouble for something that he knew absolutely nothing about.
He’d heard many stories about women claiming to be fine only to completely lose it and do some crazy stuff. The banker had also witnessed his own mother say that she was fine only to unleash hell on his unsuspecting old man.
Another thing that proved that he did not understand women at all was the conversation that he had just witnessed between Vivian and Amy. At some point there had been some pinching going on, then a whole lot of flicking. Then out of nowhere the two of them had literally been crying their eyes out.
Now as Ryan and Vivian were getting ready to board the yacht and set off, Amy and Vivian were giggling like schoolgirls their hands entwined. Looking over at Ryan, Mark was glad to find his friends staring at the women in bafflement as well.
Clearly he was as confused as Mark was.
Their goodbye had mainly been a bit of wrestling and a few discrete tears,( very manly ones at that). But the women had gone through an entire drama sequence, now they were acting like giddy schoolgirls. That made absolutely no sense to Mark, but, acknowledging that it never would, he simply accepted all that he was seeing with a calm attitude.

Standing side by side with his friend, watching their ladies communicate in the secret language of women, Mark was not expecting Ryan to speak at all. But he did, and he said something that the banker was not expecting to hear.
"When are you going to pop the question?" Stunned, Mark did not respond for a few seconds his mind scrambling for an answer.
"What on earth are you talking about?" He finally settled on, and Ryan just raised a brow at him.
"I am talking about you and Amy. The two of you are a good fit, so when are you going to ask her to be your wife?"
His eyes moving to the ring now glinting from his friends finger Mark found himself unable to hold back an incredulous laugh.
"Doesn’t this sort of thing usually take longer to kick in. You have just gotten married now and all of a sudden you want everybody in your friend group to be married?" After shaking his head Ryan looked over towards where the women were currently hugging tightly.
"This is not about me wanting to marry you off simply because I now have a wife. It is about you very obviously wanting to put a ring on that,"
"What?" Mark scoffed, laughing loudly as he dug his toes into the cool sand.
"Ha! You are definitely looking at the world through marriage tinted lenses. Amy and I just have loads of fun together, and we happen to get along even outside the bedroom. There is nothing else to it,"
Raising his hands Ryan shrugged.
"If that is truly the way you see things then that is fine with me. But we both know that it is not true. So I am just putting it out there. You could ask her to marry you if you wanted," Throwing his head back Mark laughed some more, and by the time that he stopped Ryan had dropped the topic.
Despite that, the other man’s words refused to leave Mark’s head. He was still thinking on them even as he and Amy stood side by side on the beach, waving Ryan and Vivian goodbye as they went on their snorkeling adventure.
Ask Amy to marry him...that would be something. He’d never wanted that for himself. But after getting to know her, Mark had to admit he was curious to know what a lifetime with her would be like.

Even with both of their friends knowing that the two of them were together he and Amy had insistent on separate accommodations keeping up appearances. Now Mark, freshly showered once again, and changed into more comfortable clothing was knocking on the door of Amy’s yurt.
It took a few seconds for her to come and answer. Once she opened the door, she let him in without a word.
Instead of immediately ripping each other’s clothes off, the two of them went to lay on the bed together, cuddling just for the sake of it.
As he held her in his arms Ryan’s words kept playing in a loop in Mark’s head.
Deciding to risk it he spoke up.
"I wish to spend the night with you," Amy laughed softly at that.
"I thought that was the whole idea," She said her finger tracing random patterns on his arm. It was an easy out, one that Mark could easily take, but he found that he did not wish to.
"I mean I want to spend this night and the next night and every other night after that in your presence,"
Amy sat up and looked at him, her eyes wide.
"Mark, are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" She asked.
If he followed Ryan’s advice to a tee he would be asking her to be his wife. But not wanting to spook her, (and himself) by moving too fast Mark nodded.
"Yes I am. Will you be my girlfriend sweet Amy?" He asked.
The only reply he got was Amy straddling him, her eyes alight with pure joy.
