Chapter 20 - Awakening!
The next period of time was quite casual for Felicia.
Unlike the Hero party who were stuck dealing with social parties with nobles and having to report their actions to the Emperor, she simply remained in place relaxing.
During this time, she had always checked the sleeping body of her main body and saw that she was soon waking up. It would not be until a full month after the expedition that the main body finally gained consciousness.
Because of the long term slumber, her head was a little sleepy so Felicia decided that this mother of her needed to have a few days to wake up fully before she should report what has happened with the hero party till now. Of course, if she wanted to hear it now she would still recite everything to her.
Even if she had become friendly with the Hero Party, they still could not match the feelings she had for this mother creator after all.
This wait was about a week and she finally received a telepathic call from this mother of hers.
"Felicia, how are you?"
"I am good, mother! I have all of the reports ready! Would you like them mentally sent to you or have the clones print out what happened more objectively? They could write it down after all."
"I will have them write it down later. I just needed to see if you are okay and checking mental status... alright. I will look through them and I hope you have been behaving properly."
And with that she closed the telepathy connection. I was a little giddy that she was finally up again which caught the attention of the hero party who were a little exhausted in the living room of their quarters.
"What's so funny?" The hero asked.
"My mom's awake from her long period of slumber!" I said. Since she has awoken, she must have received all of the knowledge on all of the magic and skills that her clones had studied so no matter how you slice it she should have no problems against the hero party.
"She was asleep?" Although surprised, the hero party then went back to relaxing around. There was not much for them to do with this info anyways. Unless they were told of her location, they would probably never be able to find her and even if they did they had no large grudge between them.
Even if she could become the Demon King after this one fell, it was not certain if she would be evil in the first place.
Over on the other side, Alice had now fully awakened and had mastery of all of the knowledge in her mind. Quickly bringing the puppets back to her mirror dimension, she then entered herself into a different are and started testing her current strength.
After some time, she quickly got used to it and stretched before going to check the news passed on about that naughty child of hers. When she said she was checking her mental state, she was not kidding.
Using mind magic at her current level with the connection of clone magic that connected them she could easily read any mental changes she had and looking through the report her guesses were only further proven right.
"Seems like she is getting closer to the hero party. They worry of the changes I would bring as the Demon King? Ha. If that role had any impact on me it would have only been years ago. Now, I would not even bother if the crown was placed within arms reach."
Having progressed to the limit of the world, she was able to finally find something wrong with the world as it was.
"So that is how it is? A simulation." Trying to cast her magic to the vast distance, she knew that when she could feel the barrier around the plane and couldn't budge it that this world truly was false.
"If that is the case, then let us break the false sky!" Rather than a goal like ruling as the Demon King, this far more ambitious and far more difficult goal should be what someone on her level of talent should seek.
Of course, before then she needed to consolidate all of the knowledge that she had into a single unified system. So more time would be needed.
Because of this, making a dedicated base that she would not be interrupted in would be the best for her. So she expanded her vastly superior Spatial senses to cover everywhere and find the least populated area only to find out...
"Back at the Demon King Castle."
During that short glance, she saw where the last Demon General and Demon King were hiding and simply disregarded it. This Demon King and Hero game were both just a farce anyway. If the world is a simulation, then it would make sense with how the world works that their cycling is the counterpoint of the simulation.
If the one to slay the Demon King was not the Hero, who knew how the situation would devolve.
Since they were far away and the fact that other people would not dare to enter their till the Demon King was declared as dead only made the castle more isolated than it once was.
But even if it was the perfect spot for now, once the Demon King was slain than the advantages would disappear.
There were also other races and the territory of them are all rather wide with little population so she finally decided on her destination.
Deep in the plains lived in by the beast folk, there are many trees and caves that she can expand with her magic into a portable home.
Well, it would simply be easier if she just opened a crack in space as it would provide maximum security and peace.
So that was what she did. Finding the right place and gathering the coordinates before teleporting a long distance away, she found herself ion the middle of a vast forest and on the top of a large tree that did not stand out among the others nearby, she made a whole in space and created another pocket space for her to study.
Then expanding it and decorating it to her liking, she then tuckered down and started going back to her hobby of studying.
Now her clones with less work also brainstormed with her so her progress was much faster than expected.
Over on the other side, Felicia was relaxing as she was then called by the hero who was getting a little bored staying in one place.
"We should head out and explore! You know, I never had the opportunity to go to the lands of the other races." The hero said excitedly. Having brought everyone together, he then began to discuss where in particular that we would be heading.
"When you think about other races, one of the first that comes to mind are the Elves right? I heard that they have natural nature affinity so all of their appearances are considered above average amongst humans!" The hero said excitedly. Then Vanessa on the side began to pour cold water on the idea.
"They are indeed one of the standouts among the other races, but they are very isolated and do not take kindly to humans entering their territory. This is mainly because of trafficking done by a certain small kingdom found near the forest they live in. Of course, that kingdom does it through an intermediary force of a slaving group, but our spies already found their details. Because of this, it is unlikely we will be allowed in normally."
With that unfortunate news, we had to scrap any plans to visit them anytime soon. With the tensions over there, the hero heading over there may cause tensions to rise and war might erupt at a moments notice.
Then when they talked about the other races, most of them were not that interesting for the group and only three options truly remained.
Dwarves, Beast Folk, and the Dragon race.
Unlike the Elves that were stuck dealing with their own problems at the moment, the Dwarven race was as usual. Being premier alcohol distillers and forgers has allowed them to maintain strong connections with many forces altogether. Thus they have not fallen into a similar situation to the Elves.
They would be a nice group to visit, but the others wanted to hear all of the available options first.
Beast folk are actually quite similar to humans in mannerisms in a way with the exception being their focus on martial prowess and training. Due to certain characteristics among them, Prey and Predator beast folk have all developed specifically to fight each other with many predatory carnivores using their superior strength to try to overwhelm their foes while prey times rely on either speed and flexibility or brute physique.
This was not really because of actual hunting practice, but rather it was a more to show off their strength. Compared to the unity of humanity, the craftsman's spirit of the dwarves, the wisdom and experience of the elves, or the absolute dominance of the Dragon race the beast folk have less advantage in many aspects.
So they chose to flex their pure strength.
Of course, the dragons could completely crush them but disdain to do so while the dwarves who bolster their strength with forging rather than technique could also compete. But being craftsmen and drunkards happens to dull their desire for combat. There are some combative dwarves, but the numbers simply don't reach the majority.
For all of this, the Beastfolk obtained the title of the most aggressive and combative of the races and are alright to visit. Because of the strength that they all have as the hero party, most beast folk would not be able to compare to them.
Then the Dragon Race is both the most simple, yet also the furthest away. They are all mostly located in another dimension known as the Dragon Realm.
In order to enter and explore their domain you would need to first either break into their domain directly through space which would lead to being attacked on all sides, or obtain approval of one of the dragons wandering around the world now. Although rare, it is indeed possible and has been done by many people throughout history. It is just that it requires meeting a dragon first and we have not met one yet.
Well, after they discussed this, Felicia then turned to look at Luke who stared back confusedly. Then turning to look at the others with scrutiny, the others also were confused by the message that she wanted to relay.
If that is the case, do they not know that Luke's true power is from the Sacred Dragon of Light? If that is the case, maybe it would be fun to keep quiet for now. So I simply calmed down and did not explain.
There were other foreign races whose territories are known like the Mermaids and Goblins, but each of them have their own problems at the moment that makes them less stable to travel to.
So the team began to debate to decide on where they should go. While they were doing that, Felicia decided to inform my mother first on what they were thinking about.
Getting a response relatively quickly, she learned that Alice was over in Beast folk territory, but was not living anywhere near any civilization so it did not really matter to her.
Because she was that confident, she then sat comfortably in her spot and waited for the others decisions to be made. Just being honest, Felicia has not really encountered any kind of people other than humans and demons. So this trip no matter the location would be quite informative for her.
Finally, it was decided that we would be heading towards the Beast folk territory. Although I was surprised at first, I then thought about it a bit more and found that since the Hero Party wanted to adventure around, going to the mostly sedentary dwarves or going on a wild goose chase to find a dragon would both be equally productive for their specific needs.
And so I watched once more the preparations that the others were going to do and informed Alice of the situation. A clone simply responded understood and then I got suddenly dragged in by the girls in the group to help out shopping as well.
So I traveled around basically the entire city and the members of the party all found the stuff they needed as they prepared to inform the emperor of their itinerary after the fact.
I can almost see the hair falling out of the poor old man's head now. Poor geezer.
