Chapter 7 - The Beginning of Unrest.
"Ah! I am finally done with all the spells for a High Mage of Space!"
Stretching in the library that was seeming more like a personal room for me, I opened my status screen and showed a happy smile at my progress in this year

In all of this time, I have truly grown to become quite the competent mage, right?
My title as the Void Mage appeared once I reached the Advanced level in Space Magic and I later simply found out that it was the title of any space mage that reached the advanced level of magic. It also pointed the direction forward for any mages confused on how to move forward.
Of course, exploring the void can lead you to reaching the mythical level of ten, but it also has the natural dangers of exploring into the void. that is why I have simply stayed at home and the library studying all of this time. There is also the fact that disappearing for an extended period of time would scare everyone so I decided against it.
Now, I already started on Learning Mind Magic so I could get a head start on growing in this way. Reading the introduction to Mental based magic, I learned of a spell to speak to another soul in your own body at the 7th level so I already knew where I should get to.
Since I was already at the level of Nine in a type of magic, even reading spell books above my Mental magic level would no longer affect me so learning this Mind Magic would be many times easier than my path to Space magic. Simply understanding a single Advanced level Mind Magic book would already have me there in terms of knowledge.
Unfortunately, I still have to absorb enough Mental magic as well as increase my proficiency with this magic to reach that level. With my experience in learning from Space magic, I think I can simply reach that level in about half a year.
But before I could continue studying, I heard hurried footsteps in the halls of the castle. Sensing with my spatial perception, I could hear what was going on from the whispers of the guards in my range.
"Have you heard?" One guard said.
"Heard what?" Another guard said in response.
"It is said that a new hero candidate has appeared among the humans." The first guard said.
"Isn't it just a hero? There were plenty of self proclaimed heroes sent from smaller kingdoms in the past." The other guard responded.
"This is different. It is said that this hero was found and chosen by the Empire of Man!" The initial guard spoke excitedly.
"Is it true?! Does our King know?"
"Someone was already sent to inform him, no worries"
Right after he said that, a towering aura of Dark Magic released from another section of the castle.
The two guards were amusing to listen to, but this is more important for me to check out. Since the person releasing their magic was doing so while not hiding, I was finally able to read their status with Appraisal.

That's right, it was my father the Demon King who was making such noise.
Although all I could see were his Dark Magic and his strongest skill in level, that was still a shocking moment for me. He has such a strong skill?! No wonder he was able to slay a hero.
This Dark God Blade when further Appraising is his sword style. It is a specific style passed down from demon king to demon king and is apparently the skill that allows the Demon King to face a hero even when they have the elemental advantage. The thing is, the skill is not naturally learned, but is directly injected into the current title holder of Demon King and contains all of the martial prowess of every Demon King till now. It only displays as level 9 since that is all that my father can wield. What a weakling!
Since my father was enraged, all of the guards were now working on overdrive. I guess my dad is dealing with all of the problems that the reveal of a hero would do to his territory. While all of that went on, I was no longer disturbed as I concentrated on Mind Magic for the next six months.
Now I was at the age of ten and the Demon King army has finally compiled all the knowledge they have gained on the hero from birth till now.
First of all, the hero was originally a peasant named Luke who went adventuring when his only parent his mother passed away. In order to sustain himself, he had to go on adventures day in and day out which eventually led him to one day finding out he had affinity with Light Magic.
After he obtained a spell book of that element he suddenly skyrocketed in strength which caught the eye of the princess of the Empire who was out exploring.
Finding him and bringing him to the Empire, after he had his talent officially tested the testing crystal shattered from his sheer talent and was thus spotted into the Empire's Aloph family as the Emperor's adopted son and has been kept under strict watch of the Empire.
Even so, my father plans on sending assassins his way. I don't know what my dad has to worry about. Even according to the reports he has received, even if his talent shown was only half of his real talent that hero was still less talented than me. In addition, even I would still need a few more years to grow to face my dad now in combat so there is even less reason to be concerned with the existence of a hero like this.
Although I know that it may be arrogant for me to say this, but I think everyone else in the world is trash compared to me! Even while my future path is blocked by the original soul of this body, it was only a matter of time till I surpassed this obstacle. I was even only a step or two away from it.
Once I do so, I would have surpassed every other being in this world to reach the level of 10 in magic and it is Space Magic no less!
Speaking of, my Mind Magic was already enough to learn what I needed which I have already. All I need is to simulate the process and get more familiar with Mind Magic.
Another week passed till I was one hundred percent confident in calling the soul back and claim this body as mine. But this day happened to be one where I was called over by my dad.
I decided to keep this plan for after and headed over to my dad's room where I sensed a few unfamiliar figures with him. After knocking on the door and being invited in, I entered and saw that my dad was with three rather young looking male protagonist like figures.
"Welcome Alice! Let me introduce to you my most capable soldiers to date. From left to right, this is Levia the captain of all of my aquatic combat needs, than there is Malica who is in charge of aerial operations, and finally Volcanica who is the leader of my ground troops. You three, this is my daughter who I have been keeping quietly in my castle for." My dad introduced.
"So this is the little princess, looks nothing like you. Good thing to cuz you're ugly." Said the blue haired youth called Levia by my Dad.
"I don't see why you decided to block her, but I don't care. Who do we need to strike at?" Said the one in the middle next to my dad who he called Malica.
"*Yawn* Keep this short, I am still in my youth and need some beauty sleep." Was spoken by the third and last of my Dad's generals who was named Volcanica.
They were all rather distinctive character who I greeted all politely. Then my dad passed the generals all their orders via paper and told them this trip was to just let them know my face. They all nodded and headed off in their own ways.
My dad then laughed and complained about his generals to my face.
"Those three don't really give off the impression of a demon general right? Well they were all from my father's generation and are all older than me. Don't be confused with their looks, they were the descendants of the original generals of the Original Demon King. Thus they all have legendary Bloodlines and formidable capabilities despite their appearances."
I was quite surprised at the mention of legendary bloodlines and pressed my dad for more info on the topic.
"There were more legendary beasts and bloodlines around the world in ancient times. Then the Original Hero and Devil appeared and shook the world order. They slayed these legendary beasts till around five remained. The three bloodlines you saw all followed the demon kings across generations due to a racial pact between them all and of the remaining two bloodline one had combined with the hero title and the other has been missing ever since."
The quick lecture was quite informative and so I planned to leave right then and there.
"Hey wait I have not finished what I wanted to speak with you yet." This body's father exclaimed. I decided to wait and see what he wanted to say now.
"You have already completed my test have you not? Don't rush to deny me. I can tell your skill level."
Hearing these words, I did not know what to say. When I turned to look away, I did not see the shadow that covered his eyes or his gloomy expression at that moment.
"Give me some time to... think about it." I responded. He calmly agreed and I left the room and returned to the library to complete the spell there.
I could feel a difference in his attitude from his cold response so I think he might know something. Still, just to take care of this body's emotions, I won't leave until his message was sent to her and when I told him her response.
So I closed all of the lights in the Library. Then sensing that there would be no disturbances, I then casted the spell known as Soul Recall.
"Oh lingering soul, grant upon me your glance and tell me your woes!"
My voice rose as I continued the chant for this spell. Soon the spot of light in my body seemed to shake awake and release from my body as a visible point of light.
Then the spirit of the girl when she was four appeared before me. Looking into her confused eyes, I took a moment to calm down before telling her the situation.
"So I am just a soul now living an illusory life huh. Well I figured that would be the case. Why have you woken me up?" The soul asked.
Then I handed her the letter and watched her as she read the letter.
"I... see... Can I ask you for one final thing? I know that my dad likely suspects you. If you allow me to meet my dad one final time, I will convince him to keep you." Her voice seemed both distant and fading so I replenished her soul with my mental magic and simply teleport to his office with her.
Knocking on the door and receiving a response, I opened and let the soul inside. I did not enter myself so I did not see how the conversation went. After a while, I sensed that the soul dissipated on its own. Then I finally felt free from the shackles of this body and I could sense that my should and body were now finally all blended into on concept of [Self].
Waiting outside the door, when I was finally called back into his office, I entered and saw that he kept his back to me.
"Change your form to whatever you see fit. Don't look at me with that appearance. I know you should be capable of such a thing."
I comply with this grieving father's wish and change my appearance to the outside world with a body changing mental spell. For anyone whose magic capabilities are below mine, this illusion would continue. Since the Demon King's skill level was the only thing that matched my magic, he could not see through my illusion, although he could probably cut through it.
"You will now be the librarian of the castle. Now, leave. I need some time for myself."
Leaving the room, I could hear the whispered mutters of the father behind me.
"I knew that she would never grow to be that cold. Why would I ever believe this illusion..."
Heading to the library, I decided to not have anyone care for or guard me. Since I was the only one with the pass to enter the library, I decided to close myself from the world.
I will continue to stay here until I learned all the magic in here and leave on my own.
So the next few years passed in the blink of an eye.
