Just then, two men came running down the mountain. They were the ones responsible for placing the last few rocks after everyone else had descended.
One of them, who clearly held a high position, walked straight to the leader’s side as soon as he arrived.
However, the moment he got close, he blurted out,
"Big Brother, you have to agree to her terms! She’s supposed to be handed over to the higher-ups. She can’t be harmed in any way, and her face especially can’t be ruined."
The moment the words left his mouth, the atmosphere instantly froze.
Gu Jiaojiao glanced at the man who had just spoken. ’Is he an undercover agent?’ she wondered. ’Why else would he be helping my case?’
The leader clearly had the same thought as Gu Jiaojiao. ’If we weren’t born from the same womb and hadn’t grown up side-by-side, I’d suspect this idiot was a spy sent by the enemy to sabotage me.’
’Does he not know that Gu Jiaojiao can’t be harmed?’

They had been in a standoff, a negotiation, but this idiot came down and laid all their cards on the table.
The man known as Big Brother couldn’t hold back and viciously smacked his own younger brother across the head a few times.

The other men around them were at a loss for words. They weren’t his blood relatives, though. If any of them had dared to say such a thing, the leader would have kicked them straight into the deep pit nearby.
Undermined by his own brother, the leader had no choice but to order his men to stand down.
Gu Jiaojiao had suspected she held some special value to her captors, and now it seemed that value was quite significant.
Though her heart ached with worry for Leng Yuan, she had to think about the children. Forcing herself to remain calm, she said, "Since I’m so important to you, I have a demand. Let these children go, and I’ll go with you. Otherwise, I’ll ruin my face."
The leader had never had his "goods" make one demand after another. He was about to refuse outright.
But the second brother, looking nervous, piped up again.
"Big Brother, you can’t just agree to her terms! She’s worth a hundred thousand yuan! With that much money, we brothers could live it up for a long, long time."
Gu Jiaojiao was speechless.
’Is this guy *really* not a mole?’
The leader was speechless.
’This idiot. When our mother gave birth to him, did she leave his brain behind in her womb?’
The leader was absolutely livid. He raised his hand and slapped the man viciously several times, then followed up with a few hard kicks. He no longer cared that they were blood brothers; right now, he just wanted to kill his younger sibling.
The second brother looked utterly wronged after the beating. He shot his older brother a pitiful glance, then silently backed away a few steps to seek comfort from the other men.
The other traffickers averted their gaze. This moron was always spouting nonsense from time to time; they were already used to it.
If it weren’t for the fact that he was stronger than everyone else, they would never have brought him on this operation.
Now, Gu Jiaojiao completely understood her own value. ’So that’s how much I’m worth.’
A hundred thousand yuan was no small sum in those days; it was an astronomical figure. No wonder the leader had been willing to compromise earlier.
"Fine, I agree to your terms!"
