"Hey! You stinking bald donkey! Are you going to kill yourself, or do you want me to do it for you?"

THUD!

A heavy footstep thudded in front of Yang An. The once-dark prison cell suddenly brightened, though even complete darkness was no different from broad daylight to a Cultivator.

The man who walked up to Yang An was tall and burly, clad in a suit of tattered armor. Every patch of exposed skin was covered in ugly, centipede-like scars.

He even had three more eyes on his forehead, like vertical slits. The pupils within these eyes were all different colors, giving him a bizarre appearance.

He also wore heavy shackles on his feet. With a single glance, Yang An could see that the shackles had sealed the Mana in the man’s body, preventing him from using any Mana or activating the Power of Rules.

It wasn’t just him; everyone around was the same. Every person or Demon Fiend imprisoned here was bound by a Magical Artifact. They weren’t kept in isolation, since with their Mana suppressed, they couldn’t cause any trouble even if they gathered together.

However, this man’s arrival made the others who had been sizing up Yang An halt in their tracks. It seemed he held considerable sway through intimidation in this prison; anything he claimed, the others were too afraid to touch.

Yang An, too, was bound by a Magical Artifact—two black iron chains that pierced through his body, securing him tightly. The Mana within him was similarly sealed, and he was currently kneeling on the ground.

Yang An had no time for these thugs. He was thinking.

’I’ve confirmed the location of the Forbidden Artifact Fragment. Since the Golden Thread Pavilion currently has no experts at or above the Insect Dao realm, should I just barge in and take it?’

’The Golden Thread Pavilion and the Great Virtue Temple are at war, so all their top masters have been dispatched. They only left a group of mid-tier members to guard the Sect. It seems logical, but it’s also suspicious. There’s no guarantee they haven’t left some hidden defenses in place for emergencies.’

’The location I sensed just now is clearly an important, restricted area within the Golden Thread Pavilion. A place like that is sure to have countless hidden traps. If I barge in and trigger them, I could end up in grave danger.’

’Luckily, I already thought of that. The body I’m in is just a vessel. As long as I use its teleportation ability or simply self-destruct before any real danger befalls me, I can return to Nirvana City safely.’

In other words, he had to try, no matter what. Even if he couldn’t obtain the Forbidden Artifact Fragment this time, he had to at least gather some intelligence. He couldn’t leave empty-handed.

The Forbidden Artifact Fragment... No matter how long it took or how many attempts were needed, Yang An was determined to get it.

"Stinking bald donkey! I’m talking to you!"

Yang An’s continued silence, ignoring the man before him, finally sent him into a rage. A massive hand shot down toward Yang An, intending to grab him by the head and haul him up from the ground.

While the others had been deterred by this brute’s claim, they were all now watching from the sidelines, eager for a show. This was shaping up to be another bloody spectacle.

Although they were imprisoned here, with the Magical Artifacts on their bodies preventing them from using Mana or the Power of Rules, their pure Physical Power was not sealed.

Here, the one with the greatest Physical Power had the most authority. It was the law of the jungle.

Incidents like this had happened countless times before, but the fact that the newcomer was a bald monk piqued everyone’s interest.

No one, it seemed, had a favorable view of the sanctimonious monks from the Great Virtue Temple.

"Kill him! I want to watch him get flayed and have his limbs cut off!"

"Leave a piece for me. I want to sew it onto my body."

Everyone around was eagerly anticipating Yang An’s fate, some already imagining what they would do with his corpse.

But before the massive hand could even touch Yang An’s smooth, round head, a sharp CRACK echoed in front of everyone. The hand, and then the entire arm, shattered all the way to the shoulder, sending blood and gore flying.

The burly man cried out in pain and stumbled back a step. His shattered arm was regenerating rapidly, but his eyes were fixed on Yang An in utter shock.

The gazes of everyone else also fell upon Yang An, their faces filled with astonishment.

’This guy... his physical body is that strong?’

Even with the Magical Artifact binding him, they hadn’t even seen him move, yet his opponent’s arm had been completely shattered.

Other than immense Physical Power, there was no other explanation.

They had thought he was an easy target, but he turned out to be a steel wall. Now, everyone was silent. Another powerhouse had arrived in the prison.

"You..."

The man whose arm had been shattered stared at Yang An in surprise, but before he could finish speaking, Yang An slowly rose to his feet.

Yang An swept a glance over him, his face twisting into a cold, disdainful sneer.

He hadn’t wanted to bother with these thugs, but a thought occurred to him. For his plan to work, he had two options.

’One, I can’t alert the people of the Golden Thread Pavilion yet, which means it would be best if these inmates didn’t make a single sound.’

’Or two... the more commotion they make, the better!’

Since that was the case...

BOOM!

An explosive bang erupted from the dark prison. The crowd stared at Yang An in horror. The Magical Artifact chains that had pierced his body to imprison him had, in a single instant, been blasted apart, shattering into dust that fell to the floor.

To the onlookers, this was something utterly unbelievable.
