The Demon with Holy Radiance

Chapter 642 - 361: The Big Fat Worm (Part 2)

Just a moment ago, someone had recognized Yang An as a former traitor, yet now the Pavilion Master was declaring him one of their own Elders. The turnaround was dizzying.

But an order from the Pavilion Master could not be disobeyed. The crowd quickly followed his command and dispersed, leaving only Thirty Flow and Yang An behind.

Yang An caught the Curse Seal Thirty Flow tossed him. It was obvious who Thirty Flow meant by "the Old Ancestor."

[Profound Jade Curse Seal]: Crafted by He, the Supreme Elder of the Golden Thread Pavilion, from Black Dragon Jade. It serves as the symbol of an External Affairs Elder of the Golden Thread Pavilion, endowed with the corresponding authority and functions. It also possesses a storage ability.

Cost of Use: Prolonged use accelerates the absorption of Spiritual Turbidity for Mana refinement, but it also hastens the accumulation of contamination. The user’s fate will become bound to that of the Golden Thread Pavilion.

Status: Purifiable!

After reviewing the information on the Curse Seal, Yang An put it away and then bowed to Thirty Flow.

As an External Affairs Elder, he was two ranks below the Pavilion Master, Thirty Flow.

"There’s no need for such formality, Elder. You’re an old friend of the Old Ancestor. Please, come with me."

Thirty Flow didn’t have a superior attitude at all; in fact, he was quite affable. His words, however, came as a surprise to Yang An.

’He hasn’t revealed our true relationship. Thirty Flow thinks I’m just an old acquaintance of his, not his disciple.’

’It seems He is deliberately hiding this. That must be why he didn’t make a public announcement about my identity, instead having Thirty Flow handle it.’

Yang An couldn’t fathom He’s intentions for now, but he figured it was a good thing. ’If He has any enemies, they won’t come after me.’

After all, the three great Half Domain powers of the Outer Continent were keeping a very close eye on the Golden Thread Pavilion.

Thirty Flow took out something new—a Magical Artifact.

The Magical Artifact swelled in the wind, rapidly revealing its full form: an ugly, fat, winged insect.

The large, fat insect didn’t seem alive, yet its flesh was translucent and crystalline. It looked rather plump and delectable, sparking the imagination, yet it was also enough to make one’s Scalp crawl.

"This item is capable of great teleportation. Follow me."

Thirty Flow offered a simple explanation and was the first to land on the fat insect’s back.

Yang An followed him up. The surface under his feet was very soft, covered in a thin layer of sparse fuzz.

Carrying the two of them, the fat insect rapidly beat its wings. Its translucent flesh enveloped them, and with a great gust of wind, it seemed to dissolve into the air, turning transparent and vanishing completely.

To Yang An’s senses, only a moment had passed before Thirty Flow waved his hand, and they arrived in an unfamiliar place.

Thirty Flow put the fat insect away. The entire journey took less time than it would to speak a sentence. They had already reached their destination. It was incredibly fast.

Astonished by the insect’s teleportation speed, Yang An took in his new surroundings. The two of them were now standing before a Floating Island.

Another Floating Island!

The Floating Island before them was just a bit smaller than the one belonging to the Golden Thread Pavilion. It lacked that turbid, malevolent aura, and one could tell at a glance that this was merely a temporary encampment.

"Do the people of the Golden Thread Pavilion have a thing for Floating Islands?"

The Bow Lady’s voice sounded in Yang An’s ear, and she couldn’t help but quip.

"That over there is the Great Virtue Temple. I imagine you’re quite familiar with it, even without me saying so."

Just then, Thirty Flow pointed in a direction, toward a landmark that faced the Floating Island from a great distance.

Yang An looked in the direction he pointed. The first thing he saw were the iconic, colossal Golden Buddha Statues of the Great Virtue Temple, so immense they were visible at a glance even through layers of clouds.

Although endless mountain ranges and plains separated the two locations, they were still close enough to sense each other’s presence. They were already deep within the heartland near the Great Virtue Temple.

Yang An had heard reports that the Golden Thread Pavilion had pushed straight into the Great Virtue Temple’s territory, but he never expected to be this close to the Land of Great Virtue and Goodness. They were practically within the same State Territory.

Within the hundreds of miles that his perception covered, countless auras were locked in confrontation and combat. Both sides were present, and among them, the aura of the Insect Dao was not uncommon.

It seemed the situation was currently a stalemate. Though the fighting between the two sides was fierce, the balance had not yet been broken.

It would be impossible for the Golden Thread Pavilion to quickly conquer the Great Virtue Temple, as the temple had the backing of the other Three Domains.

Likewise, the Great Virtue Temple was unable to defeat the Golden Thread Pavilion due to the presence of He, an Immortal Platform expert. The stalemate meant the fighting between them would only grow more intense, and the outcome was uncertain.

From Yang An’s perspective, however, the deciding factor was the level of support the other Three Domains provided to the Great Virtue Temple. If they could neutralize He, the Golden Thread Pavilion would be in grave danger.

Regardless, the Golden Thread Pavilion’s situation didn’t look optimistic.

Thirty Flow said no more and quickly led Yang An onto the Floating Island. With Thirty Flow in the lead, none of the passing Cultivators or stationed guards dared to obstruct them. Yang An followed him into the heart of the Floating Island’s central encampment.

The architectural complex on the island was nearly identical to the Golden Thread Pavilion’s main Sect. Magnificent palaces stood in orderly rows, grand and imposing. Due to the concentration of forces for the war, it was even livelier and more bustling than the main Sect, with Cultivators visible everywhere.

As they passed, various Cultivators bowed to Thirty Flow. They were simple gestures of respect; after all, it was wartime, so all formalities were kept brief.

Just as Yang An followed Thirty Flow into the central encampment, a familiar aura suddenly washed over him.
