The Demon with Holy Radiance

Chapter 643 - 361: Great Fat Worm (3)

A figure suddenly appeared before them.

It was a white-bearded old man, a full three meters tall. He wore gray robes, and his face, dotted with a few age spots, was set in a solemn expression.

There was a hole the size of a human head in his chest. It penetrated his torso but didn’t exit through his back. Inside the cavity, a sea of blood seemed to churn and rage.

His aura was so substantial it was almost tangible, emanating from his body like a bloody mist thick with baleful energy.

Zhuan Yu!

The moment he appeared, Yang An recognized him by his aura. This was, after all, his former master—the one who had taught him the Shell Nourishing Technique and sent him to infiltrate Great Virtue Temple.

Given Zhuan Yu’s menacing arrival, Yang An knew exactly what he was here for.

That old coot Life Crane hadn’t announced his identity and position. With the others unaware, he was still just a traitor to the Golden Thread Pavilion in their eyes. This was the trouble.

However, Yang An was no longer afraid of Zhuan Yu. From the moment he entered the Insect Dao Realm, he knew he didn’t have to worry about anyone else within it.

"So you’re still alive. Excellent!"

Zhuan Yu’s expression was anything but calm. As he looked at Yang An, a trace of astonishment flickered across his face.

’The Insect Dao!’

This fellow he had taken as a Direct Disciple had only been at the Corpse Transformation stage. In the blink of an eye, he had actually achieved the Insect Dao. Such speed was inconceivable.

He had originally assumed Yang An had been hunted down and killed by the people from Great Virtue Temple after fleeing the monastery. But when Yang An later managed to break the Rule Seal placed on him and secretly rescued the members of the Mystic Path Sect, he knew Yang An hadn’t died.

Since he wasn’t dead, and yet had failed to appear for so long, his stance was clear: it was a complete and utter betrayal.

But what he hadn’t expected was that Yang An would dare to return at this moment, and that he had been brought back by the Pavilion Master.

Zhuan Yu didn’t say anything further. He simply reached into the bloody hole in his chest and withdrew his signature Blood Sword.

"Let me see just how much you’ve improved."

He no longer referred to himself as Yang An’s master. The true betrayal of his Direct Disciple had caused him to lose face; from that moment on, they were no longer master and disciple.

Seeing Yang An again now, Zhuan Yu was filled with a rage that he had to vent, even in the presence of Pavilion Master Thirty Flow.

Yang An had known this would happen. He didn’t panic, however. Instead, he took out the Profound Jade Curse Seal that Thirty Flow had given him, hoping to clarify his current status.

It was true that Zhuan Yu had sent him to be a spy in Great Virtue Temple, placing a nearly unbreakable Seal on him that restricted his actions and put him in grave danger.

But as far as masters went, Zhuan Yu had been far better than Life Crane. At least he had never actively harmed him. Yang An still acknowledged Zhuan Yu as his former master.

That was why Yang An didn’t want to fight him. He was an Elder of the Golden Thread Pavilion now, after all, and he wanted to avoid creating bad blood and ending up with enemies on all sides within the pavilion.

But when he took out the Profound Jade Curse Seal to reveal his identity, Zhuan Yu didn’t even spare it a glance, simply raising his hand and slashing with his sword.

Bloody energy formed a hundred-meter-long crimson wave of Sword Qi that shot toward Yang An in an instant with terrifying speed and power. Zhuan Yu held nothing back with this strike, completely disregarding Pavilion Master Thirty Flow, who was standing between them.

Yang An’s eyes narrowed. He had already shown the Profound Jade Curse Seal; he refused to believe Zhuan Yu hadn’t seen what it signified. Yet, he had attacked anyway.

’Just how much does this guy hate me? All I did was run away! Does he really have to go this far?’

’Who wouldn’t have run in that situation?’

’Looks like I’ll have to give this old geezer a proper response.’

But just as Yang An prepared to make his move, Thirty Flow’s voice rang out.

"Alright, that’s enough."

With a casual lift of his hand, Thirty Flow blocked the Sword Qi from Zhuan Yu. With another wave, he shattered it, dispersing it into a bloody mist that filled the air.

"Zhuan Yu, don’t be rash!

Now is not the time for infighting. We can discuss this later."
